148th Ave. Coffee Shop

This is a very spacious coffee shop with a great ambience. Very modern and quiet (except for music speakers). I would say this can be a great study spot if you can snatch a table because even though it is very spacious, there are very limited number of tables and chairs. If you don’t mind camping on the ground and do your thing, then there is plenty of space! Also be aware that there are probably on 2 – 3 wall outlet in the entire shop so come prepared and charge your laptops beforehand.

Big space for sure. Definitely a college feel. But if you detest a churchy feel, then choose another place. When i visited, no sermons or anything other than coffee people but crosses and Christian messaging here and there. I’m OK with that since coffee is great.

I LOVE this place, delicious espresso drinks and sandwiches, great atmosphere, I just wish they had drip coffee :(

This place is weeeiiiiird.
I stopped by in the late morning to grab a drink, use some wifi, and kill some time.
I walk in, and there’s nobody there. No customers, no employees, but all the lights are on, music is playing, etc. so it is obviously open.
I wait 1 minute… no sign of an employee. I wait another minute… no sign of an employee and another customer walks in behind me. I just shrug at them and start walking through the store trying to track down an employee. To no avail. So, I decide to use the restroom and assume that by the time I’m done an employee will magically appear.
My pee break is done and hallelujah! An employee is now there. I ordered a chai latte which was just ok – your run of the mill chai.
The space is expansive and industrial, which is not my favorite layout for a café, but to each their own. Also, given the large space it was shocking how few outlets there were. It dawned on me that the large open space of the café was because the café was part of a church. It was clear that one big section of the café was closed off and is evidently a place of worship, or hosts bible study? Who knows?
The strip-​mall café church vibe coupled with the indie rock music on the speakers and the ESPN on the TV provided this place with a weirdness that I have seldom seen in any other café. So congrats on originality 148^th Ave, if that’s what you were going for.
The café is right near Bellevue College, so the only reason I’d recommend this place is out of pure necessity for either students or workers from campus.
Other than that the great Seattle area has so many other options for cafes that the strangeness of 148^th Ave Café can most likely be avoided.

This place is descent. Chill atmosphere, watered down coffee. I also got a croissant. It wasn’t warm and flaky as it should have been. It was squishy and left my fingers very very greasy. The staff are very nice though. Amazing service; they really do care.

We love coming here when we visit from California for an authentic Seattle coffee experience!

I’m not a coffee person but this is probably one of my favorite cafes. The service is fantastic! They’ll make whatever you want, and they deliver your drink to your table in pretty in house mugs. Their food is also fantastic, whether its a sandwich or brownie, it is definitely one of the best. I also personally love cafes that aren’t «chain cafes.» It gives a home-​like feel and all the customers are nice people as well. Great WiFi too!
Only downfall is that they only have a handful of tables and some couches. Other than that, its a great café!

Had a customer service issue and the business owner helped me out. Best espresso in area and while I didn’t have the best latte for my first I’ve had friends tell me they are usually great, probably just didn’t have the best one but will be better next time. Overall great customer service, good espresso, and an open business

I live in Seattle and go to BC. Knowing Bellevue, I usually avoid coffee shops here like the plague. But the barista was so nice and friendly it warmed me up completely. The coffee is standard and although the sandwich selection are limited (they do have a vegetarian hummus sandwich though yay) they’re alright.

Lots of room but hardly any tables! 4 2 – 3 person tables and three tiny high tops. Also no drip coffee.

I drive by this place all the time and never knew this place existed. Stopped by by accident, and wow hey make a great latte. Daniel there is really nice and personable and knows how to steam milk properly… rich velvety micro bubbles not like the dishwater bubbles at chains. Lots of space, but true not too many places to sit… but I real gem this place!

Had higher expectations. Wasn’t aware this was in a church. Coffee wasn’t amazing, not bad either. Lots of space if you want to hang out or do homework here. Didn’t seem like the staff had much to do.

So other reviewers failed to point out this place is part of a church. It’s not technically a coffee shop. I drove out of my way to get here to find two tables and hearing a sermon. That pissed me off.

This place is cavernous and huge but surprisingly lacking in available seating. There is a lot of empty space everywhere which makes the place feel a bit awkward. The barista was incredibly friendly but the coffee was just so-​so. It was also freezing, not fun when it feels colder inside than the no-​so-​balmy 40 degrees outside

I LOVE THIS PLACE. It’s like my little escape. Excellent coffee and good food. A little pricey but totally worth it. A short distance from Bellevue College, snuggled inside a church building. A great place to escape and read, do homework, or study.

I come here to work sometime on Friday afternoon when things are slow. My takeaway: this should be THE Startup coffee shop of the Eastside!
Why?
— Plenty of parking space (Big bonus vs. coffee shops in Seattle)
— Huge space and coffee brought to your table (woot woot)
— They also have table tennis so you can take your eyes from the computer
— Very friendly service
— Near Bellevue College: lots of young people (and girls for those who are interested)
— They have couches where you can sit and chat
Coffee itself is decent, not bad and not the best either. The only drawback is very few tables. There are lots of space to «stand» though. It does look like an empty contemporary warehouse. Feel like cold and new!
The owner of this place needs to start doing some marketing. Talk to people at Tech Meetup and get those young people in Bellevue College to go here.

The owner (manager?) is really awesome and 148^th Coffee Shop is a good place to study and/​or work on your laptop.
Why have I ended up here? My boyfriend is (was?) tutoring a Bellevue College student, and this is/​was a good place for them to meet. All I usually need to get work done is my laptop and access to wifi, so 148^th CS is also a great place for me to «hang out.»
I have enjoyed one of their breakfast sandwiches and some other snacks, but the mocha was frequently my only purchase. I definitely loved my first few (pretty) mochas, but the last couple were way too sweet. Not sure if the change was to their recipe or my own preferences.
I’ll be happy to work from 148^th again if my boyfriend plans to meet a student there (it’s not very convenient for me otherwise), but I’ll probably stick to the food (or ask them about making my mocha less sweet).

Went there this afternoon around 11am, and was surprised that it was pretty empty. Must be because school hasn’t started yet. I ordered a 12oz vanilla latte, and my friend ordered a 12oz dirty chai latte. They were both well made and tasted great! Definitely one of the better cups I’ve had in awhile.
The WiFi also worked well, even at the outside seating area.
Overall, a good experience!
