We are a small appliance sales and repair store specializing in the sales and maintenance of small home appliances including expresso makers, vacuum cleaners and beauty products.

We also sharpen blades for beauty clippers and animal hair clippers. Appliance Repair company that provides outstanding service to all customers. We have skilled technicians that will do the job right.

History

Established in 1953.

Our business was started in 1918 by Mr. Grover Burke who opened City Electric & Fixture Co. in downtown Seattle. At that time, the company was an electrical contractor, doing domestic and commercial wiring and installations. In the 1920’s the company started selling and repairing major appliances, along with small household appliances.

In 1953 Elmer Manning and Bob Lindsay bought the small appliance division from City Electric & Fixture, changing the name to City Electric Service Shop. In 1982 brothers Michael and David King bought the business, after working for City Electric Service for 8 years. The business name was changed at that time to Action Small Appliance.

We have now been family owned and operated for 30 years!

Friendly old school repair shop with all kinds of accessories, replacement pieces and misc items. Brought my Kitchenaid stand mixer in for repair. I was told when to expect a call with results of their findings before making repairs. They called when the said, repaired what I asked and had my mixer ready for me in just a few days. He even walked my fully repaired mixer to my car for me when I picked it up. Thanks for fixing my mixer!

Not sure how they do because I never went in. Called on the phone about my Oster blades for sharpening and was unaware how often they work with them… he was short and rude and talked to me like I was stupid. He was just very rude. I will not go here. I will send my blades into the company instead.

I dropped my carpet shampooer off there on November 1. I was told I’d have it back before Thanksgiving on 11⁄26. Now it is 12⁄22 and my carpets still won’t be clean in time for Christmas. I am beyond frustrated.

I just bought my first SEBO vacuum from this location. The man working helped me pick one out, gave me all the details about it and also included the deal of the week. Very happy with the service I received and especially with the vacuum I bought. I know for sure if I have any issues with the vacuum, I will bring it back here to have it repaired. The man had lots of knowledge about it. Highly recommend this place. It’s a great store with everything you can imagine.

The fellow at the desk couldn’t have been nicer. I brought in my espresso machines for repair, and I am confident they are in capable hands. He took the time to explain the differences between a number of the various products they were selling new on their floor. It’s so nice to see an old fashioned place like this, where the focus is on repairing and keeping what you already have rather than tossing it out and buying new.

I agree with rest of the reviews about poor attitude man who answered the phone had. I wanted to go there and smack him in the face after 3 min being on the phone. I wouldn’t recommend this store to my worst enemy!!!

Used them on several occasions; carpet cleaning machine, 2 x vacuum cleaner and microwave. Great service and decent price. Agree with others in regards to man working at the front counter. He is very helpful but not very pleasant to deal with. Would recommend to others.

I agree with the reviewers who said the guy at the front desk is rude and unpleasant. I don’t know why he should be at the front desk interacting with customers when he has such a condescending attitude. I’ll look elsewhere to get my appliance fixed!!! I’ve called the manufacturer and told them not to recommend this place.

I have used Action Small Appliance for 30+ years and have had excellent service every time from the downtown store and now at the one in Bellevue. They have fixed blenders, two family espresso machines, and other small appliances. They always call to let me know what the cost will be ahead of fixing it, the prices have been fair, and the repairs have been lasting. I have never had anything but professional and friendly communication. My son who lives in Denver and my sister-​in-​law who lives in Spokane, bring their appliances back to be repaired by Action Small Appliance. We are very pleased.

I agree with many of the reviewers. The man is just something. I think his name is Jim and is the owner. He looks down upon every one and belittles them. I am not how he is in Business. I have to pick up my Vacuum under warranty being repaired and if he made any sarcastic comment I will make sure to put him in his shoes.
Please stand up to him. Do not take that garbage from him. Consumers need to stand up to this bullying attitude.

I don’t recall being on the receiving end of a poor attitude when this store was still in downtown Seattle, and I’d given them my business several times over the last few decades. Although, in all fairness, after finding parking near that tiny, gritty location, if I’d been met with rudeness, I likely would’ve attributed it to location-​related stress.
But this was my first visit to the much larger, brighter Bellevue store to buy a part, and I was relieved that they had one to spare (and ample parking). They get 5 stars for convenience, as I saved time and even though it cost more than I expected, I saved money over having it shipped from the east coast. But those stars were wiped out by the man behind the counter, who was condescending & supercilious. I have little patience for snarky dickheads, and wonder how someone who is the face of a business could have so little grace. Does being rude make him feel better about himself? Perhaps. But next time, I’ll pay shipping fees, and do without whatever it is I need until it gets here.

In late July my son’s power wagon wheels had split at the seams, I called Action Small Appliance to order new ones. After some checking they informed me that the tire were under warranty and ordered a new set for me. When they arrived at my house there were no instructions, I called Action Small Appliance again and they walked me through the process. Overall, they were friendly and very helpful. I have already told many people about the good experience I had in dealing with Action Small Appliance Service.

DO NOT BRING YOUR ITEM IN A WASTE OF TIMES !!! SCAMMER !!! brought my bissell cleaner in to get fix came back two week later because he call to said it was fix ?? and a wrap the long cord a certain way and tied it a certain way at the end and the guy said he look at it ««he lied «» shame on him I drove and hour to get it one hour back home … covered by bissell to get repaired went home plug it in still did not work. LOOK AT THE OTHER REVIEWS THE GUY IS RUDE JUST LIKE HE WAS TOO ME a real IDIOT dont waste your time like i did I wish i could give this place a minus 1 000 000 a real dump.

Whoever is in the front interacting with the customers (an older Caucasian gentleman) needs to get a better attitude. He was so incredibly unpleasant and was disrespectful. If he doesn’t like his job, get a different one. One you don’t have to talk to people. If you own the shop then pay a kid minimum wage so you don’t have to be in the front. And just lighten up.
I came in to purchase a part and he was just cranky. Snippy comments such as: «if you live in the State, you’d know there’s always tax.» Really. Was that necessary to say.
Perhaps he was crabby that he was stuck in the back warehouse dingy room when the sun is bright and shiny today. Whatever it is, I don’t buy it. It’s no excuse. You are in the customer service industry so own it, man up, step up etc.

I sent my all-​clad slow-​cooker here for service under warranty. They sent it back with poor packaging and the ceramic insert was cracked. When I called there was no apology or helpful information, but the man on the phone simply said «Oh, call all-​clad, we just repair the electronics». Then he hung up on me without saying ‘bye’. It may not be his jurisdiction to deal with cracked inserts, but some common courtesy as all-clad’s warranty representative seems reasonable. An apology for the inconvenience of their poor packaging causing additional work for me would have been courteous as well.

Both my Bissell Steam Cleaner and Dyson Animal decided to take a break from working. With 2 kids under 5 and 2 dogs, both get heavy workouts and are beloved and essential members of the household.
After trying a few other shops (who wouldn’t work on the Bissell) I ended up here. I won’t say the man I talked with will win a personality award, but he was straightforward, polite and most importantly, seemed to know his stuff. One week later I have both machines back. The price was far less than having to replace them, so I’m thrilled.
I’m off to use them now — my house needs it!

These folks were great – we had a space heater (designed to heat small cabins, that we’re using in place of our almost dead furnace to heat our upper floor). Somehow, we broke the on/​off switch off the back, and suddenly we no longer had any way to heat. Took it to our Action Small Appliance, and they were able to replace the switch (with something better!). Total cost for repair was about $ 60.00, including the $ 20 diagnostic fee. Given this heater was over $ 200 to begin with, a pretty good deal in our opinion.
It took a little under a week for the work to be done, and we got a phone call when it was ready.
This is a great shop, too, if you’re looking for a replacement for almost anything – vacuum cleaner bags, coffee pots, mixing bowls, blender flasks. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful – give them a try!

I went in because I realized I was missing a part from my old Bissell Little Green that was causing it to leak, and Action Small Appliance was listed on Bissell’s site as a place that services Bissell products. I was told by Bissell customer service that I was missing a gasket piece and it should only be a couple bucks.
When I talked to the guy at Action Small Appliance about it, he said he couldn’t find what part I was talking about and he thought I should buy a whole new collection tank. He took my name and number, told me he would call Bissell himself to confirm and then call me back.
I never got that call. A couple days afterwards I called Bissell customer service again who told me the part number I needed and I ordered it for $ 3 from their website. Not going back to this place anytime soon.
