Established in 2006.

ActiveRain launched in 2006. In 2011, ActiveRain was acquired by Market Leader, one of the largest providers of software and marketing services to the real estate industry. As part of Market Leader, ActiveRain works closely with the Internet Marketing Specialist Designation (IMSD) to provide advanced training to the real estate community.

With more than 320,000 professional members, ActiveRain is the largest and most active professional social network and marketing platform in the real estate industry. I was told that this was a première site to visit in regards to all things Real Estate and to go there. Yea Yea Yea and I put it off for months. One day in 2010, I visit and haven’t left since. Amazing connections to everyone across the United States in the business! Furthermore, you pick up on every subject of human nature and experience too. I used this site to find out what the banks were up to during the recent crash. Knowledge is power as we all shared the secrets of how to deal with them. Furthermore, I wasn’t on the site but a few months when I got a referral that netted me some serious money $$$ from someone who was trying to locate me to sell a large tract of land for them. Also, as the author for the PEARLS SERIES of Books on Life Love Intimacy & Purpose, I get a lot of exposure and response which is good for everyone involved. Visit

An update to my previous review.
I was extremely frustrated with the fact that I could not log in or be «active» on ActiveRain. Well, I am still not sure what the problem was but I have a sneaky suspicion that I caused my own problem. I may have accidentally put my browser into «stealth» mode. This made it impossible for me to log in. The ActiveRain technical support team did work hard to fix the issue, trouble shooting everything on their end. I thought it was important to set the record straight.

I have used this blogging platform since 2007 & enjoy it. Mainly a real estate related base packed full of great information that agents share. Innovative ideas on marketing, generating leads, mortgage updates, short sales are shared on a daily basis. One of the most effective sources of leads that I currently have.

In the Summer of 2007 I read several articles indicating there was potential value in blogging. It seemed to me the most productive site for the Ktuschkas would be one that was 100% real estate oriented.
Of utmost importance, the platform had to stress the needs of both the public and real estate members. My webmaster suggested that ActiveRain appeared to fulfill that requirement.
Arthur and I signed on in August 2007 (we wrote five posts that month) that were the epitome of amateurish blogging. The good news is that AR knew it and, over the next five years, provided members with training and support beyond anything we would have expected.
Our community posts and videos rank on top in the search engines for the communities we serve thanks to that effort by the staff at AR
That attitude permeates the membership who willingly and openly share ideas, write tutorials and have created a bond unlike any we have experienced in an organization of real estate professionals
Has our business benefited? We wouldn’t have stayed for more than 5 years if it hadn’t. We have met and made friends with the members that I know is genuine

Activerain is the leading blogging platform for the real estate industry. I’ve been writing on their site for years and my blogs routinely drive business leads, media contacts, and interactions with other agents around the world. When used properly, it is one of the best investments a real estate agent can make.
The proof in how effective they are can be found by simply doing a search online using common terms for «homes for sale» and the name of the local town or major metro area. The search results frequently showcase the articles of Activerain bloggers who have written everything from neighborhood profiles to market reports.
As with any online tool, this platform takes time to build a following and it takes a while for content to rank highly. However, that’s perfectly normal and Activerain ranks higher for real estate articles than any other site. By investing in proper writing, most agents see results in a fairly short time.
I recommend this platform to friends and colleagues all over the country and encourage them to invest the time and money in the platform.

ActiveRain is not only a great place to learn ways to grow a real estate business and improve business systems and processes; it’s the only online community of its kind. The community supports each other both professionally and personally. We learn and grow from each other in a non-​competitive environment.
I have made many referrals to ActiveRain members in my community as well as in other states. I’ve also received many referrals from ActiveRain members in other states as well as surrounding communities.
ActiveRain has been, and continues to be, good for my real estate business. ActiveRain offers a lot of training above and beyond what we learn from other members’ blog posts. It’s affordable and ActiveRain provides tremendous value to its members.

I don’t think it is possible to truly express how great my experience has been with ActiveRain. I ave been blogging on the platform for about 5 years and much of my business is generated from the public finding me through my blogs on ActiveRain. If you are in business you are going to spend some money on advertising. The cost of active rain is next to nothing compared to what it would cost to get what can be gotten from blogging on ActiveRain.
It is a great community of the highest level of professionals from agents, brokers, title people, inspectors, and even builders. It is a tremendous resource for both the participants on the platform and the consumer looking for their services.
Like I said in the beginning, there is no way to praise ActiveRain loud enough!

It’s a wonderful place to find fellow Realtors, and be part of something amazing. There are plenty of agents sharing their knowledge, and all sorts of other real estate professionals. It’s an online community of fellow professionals, and a place to hone your blogging craft in a friendly environment.
I have had many referrals from other agents, and consumers have found me from my blogging, and the incredible SEO that comes with blogging on Active Rain.

I’ve been a participating member and blogger on Activerain since November of 2008. It’s a wonderful community for those in real estate who want to create business opportunities online and I’ve made many friends here from all over the United States and Canada.
As with any community you get what you give. Activerain is a vital part of my marketing, professional networking and has become (as I mention above) a place to be with friends. The staff, top down, has always been exceptionally supportive and helpful. You’ll find some of the best real estate bloggers anywhere right here. It’s also a great safe place for agents who are taking their first steps to market themselves online.
There are thousands of real estate agents here and many like myself from related industries like title insurance, contractors, home inspectors, mortgage brokers, home stagers, virtual assistants, appraisers and technology types who all learn from each other and network.
The Activerain University is a goldmine of training webinars, videos and events to help the real estate professional find success through adopting online strategies. They present classes and workshops to help you with SEO, blogging topics, formats and templates, and they teach best practices, good online etiquette and contributing content with value to the consumer.
I know Activerain isn’t every agents cup of tea and many are steadfast loners and only go their own way, and they should. Yet, many of us in sales and marketing today know that the support of a good community is extremely valuable. There’s a lot more opportunity in the room that’s full, not empty.

One Star too many! I subscribed to their service (which is not cheap), and then had «hidden» charges to my credit card.
I called them to remove the charges to no avail… so I cancelled my service around 21 months ago.
After going through receipts, we noticed they just billed my credit card in October a $ 349.00 fee from ActiveRain. Huh? I cancelled this and had not used their useless services in almost two years!
Wow… they also charged us $ 349.00 the year before that we did not catch. I had made it perfectly clear to cancel my services, but obviously they have continued to charge my card. Since we had «a lot» of receipts that month… we didn’t catch that they are illegally charging my card.
They even admitted the knew I had not used their services in almost two years, but said since I potentially «could» have used their services, they would not refund the charges.
Wow! ActiveRain gives me access I don’t want, and then charges my card against my wishes.
ActiveRain said according to their policy, I needed «proof» that I had cancelled to get a refund.
Since I don’t usually tape my phone calls, and it was so long ago… no luck for me. I explained to them that my policy is that no-​one is allowed to «steal» from me!
Not to worry, I went in and electronically stole money from my bank almost a year ago. If they don’t catch it soon enough, I’ll just tell them since they didn’t catch it right away, the money should be mine!
Anyway, I cancelled my credit card with the Fraud department so ActiveRain can’t do this in the future.
My suggestion would be to «RUN» away from this company fast… their just thieves.
