Best Friends Grooming Salon

We’ve been taking our Havanese to Best Friends for years and have been very pleased with the results. Our pup always comes back cute as can be and smelling fresh as a daisy. It’s a busy shop, and I learned quickly that it’s hard to get last minute appointments. I finally «got smart» and started booking my next appointment when I pick him up (after declining that offer a few times in a row), and it’s been a breeze ever since. Thanks Best Friends for taking great care of my guy!

Terrible experience! Dropped off my cat this morning and while he wasn’t cooperative with the groomer (since he’s not accustomed to being around Unilocaling dogs), they treated me and my cat, as if we were a nuisance.
After hanging up on me and telling me that my cat was vicious, I had to leave work early, and pick him up, worried about how they may treat him if I leave him there during the day.
My cat has been getting groomed for 5 years and when I dropped him off this morning, I mentioned his timidness around dogs. Sure enough, they tried to groom him while surrounded by dogs on other tables.
Even in understanding the situation, the customer experience should have been MUCH better and I should have been treated with much more respect, given she even made a snide comment to me while I was walking out of the groomer, after trying to explain to her that I mentioned him being afraid of dogs.
I’m sure they’re a good groomer, I just didn’t appreciate the lack of customer service and rude remarks while I was trying to give them my business.
For future reference to Karen and her team: A friendly call apologizing and thanking me for giving your groomer a chance would have sufficed, rather than you belittling me and my pet for his lack of cooperation, when your establishment wasn’t suited for a cat afraid of dogs.

I have been taking my two dogs to Best Friends for the last 2 years.
They are a mix of Golden Retriever and Border Collie.
Lots of hair!
They always come home beautiful and seemed well cared for.
I’ve referred friends and they tell me how thankful they are for the referral.
I think Best Friends is effienct and understand dogs.
Mine go in nervous — and BF just take the lead and let them know all is OK.

Wish there was a 4.5 star rating as I’m a happy but still have feedback. Have a Brittany Spaniel. Have had his hair trimmed there about 5 times (we do it once or twice per year) in a field cut… we don’t actually hunt him but do this for both shedding control and comfort for the dog when it gets hot. We live pretty close by this shop. They did a nice job every time. My wife in particular liked how they gave him a «mostly» field cut but left some hair on his ears (she liked the way that looked). So overall very happy with this place and would recommend it with no reservations to those with a dog.
My only feedback is that booking is a bit of a hassle here. Hard to get a hold of someone (often leave a message and get a call back). Realize they don’t want to hire someone full time to answer the phone to control costs. But, they could either get a phone with a wireless headset (so they can talk while they work). Or maybe an online reservation system? It always seems to take multiple attempts to book a time. Tried emailing for a res once… got no response. Am also trying the new place on 20^th (around the corner)…simply because I couldn’t get a hold of this place. So, either a better phone system (that allows you to multi-​task) or an online system would improve this business considerably.
Saw one review that says they were unfriendly — I didn’t find this. They were «to the point» because they are busy… but I appreciate that because I am also very busy.
I would probably not take a cat here. Most of the bad reviews are from people with cats. We also have two cats… I’ve never actually met someone who had their cats fur cut before. Kind of weird if you ask me.

I truly love this place! Best price on town, and even after moving to seattle, we still take our dog here. It’s worth the drive. I wish they were a bit more organized — but you can’t beat the price and the service. Dog always comes home happy and smelling fabulous!

first time there today, of course nervous because my Maltese + Maltipoo are my kids. they saw Jessica today and she was so sweet and kind and listened to all my crazy ocd requests. she finished them earlier than I had expected which was fantastic. and they look adorable. so soft and perfect. my little Maltese peed on her blanket (which she does when away from me) and Jessica WASHED it and had it dry and clean for me! we will be back. thanks, Jessica! my babes look adorable.

We had a great experience with Best Friends! EVERY single employee I encountered was very nice and welcoming. Brie groomed our husky and did a fantastic job! I can tell our pup feels great now that she is trimmed and clean! The price seemed very reasonable to me for good work and comparable to other places we have taken our dog to. We will definitely be repeat customers.

Not sure what these cat people are hatin on. This place is like the ladies SWAT team of master groomers. My Aussie cant stop smilin and waggin after I pick em up. My wife cant stop talkin bout how trimmed, quaffed and clean he smells. And my day happens without a hitch cause they take him in and finish the groom right when they say they will every time. Weve been to all the big places, best friends is incomparable.

Best Friends was great! I emailed them to book an appoointment, and Alexa was quick to respond and helpful in getting me scheduled.
The salon itself is small, but very clean and it’s nice to see the groomers doing their work while you can watch.
My dog is a 1 year old Golden Retriever who had just spent two weeks in a cone-​of-​shame because of allergies, so he was dirty, itchy, and shedding like crazy. Best Friends did an oatmeal bath, trimmed his paws, trimmed his nails, cleaned his ears, and brushed him out.
He came out clearly happy, super soft, and smelling great. His coat looks gorgeous and people keep telling me how fluffy and pretty he looks. It’s been two days since grooming and he still looks/​smells excellent.
Overall, great experience! I’ll definitely be using them to groom him again.

Reasonable price. All our cats look good and are normal afterward. That cannot be said of other groomers we have used in the past. Well done!

I appreciate the response time when leaving a message!!! That was the first sign of great customer service. In addition, they catered and customized what we needed for CJ… Couldn’t have been happier. Favorite groomers :)

I don’t understand all of the poor customer service reviews everyone here is always super friendly when I come in. My dog always leaves happy and she absolutely HATES grooming. She’s short haired so I never get a trim or anything it’s just a wash and nail clipping. The only thing I wish was that they used some sort of de shedding tool. My dog sheds a ton and it would be nice if they offered a service like that or brushed her for longer. Other than that I think the prices are fairly competitive and my dog always looks great when I take her home. Oh and for dogs she’s always got a cute little bandana on when she come home.

Wanted to try a new groomer… my appt. for my maltese/​shitzu was at 8:30 and he wasnt ready until 3. I loved the cut but for $ 60+tip…definitely the most expensive cut ive paid for.
The day after tho! I noticed my dog was in pain and yelled when i touched his ear and he was shaking his head weird. later that day his ear had horrible yellow discharge, he obviously had an ear infection. after dealing with taking time off to take him to the vet. i SPENT $ 180 for the basic care to fix him up… it is so hard to see your dog in pain.
*NOTE THIS WAS MY 3 YEAR OLD DOGS FIRST EAR INFECTION, CAUSED BY THE GROOMER NOT BEING CAREFUL ABOUT GETTING SOAP & WATER IN EARS.

Bought a dog for my mom a few years back and have been searching for a reasonably priced dog groomer for a while. Best Friends does an excellent job on our little dog, Nibu (half Pomeranian & half American Eskimo). We typically go for the Full Service groom but there are other tier levels that are more and less expensive. I’ve taken Nibu to a number of groomers where he visibly gets stressed and anxious, but at Best Friends he is actually quite relaxed and enthusiastic!

My cat has spent 6.5 hours there for hair cut! We dropped him off at 10 am and were told to pick him up at 4. When we came, he was still not ready and we were asked to come in 30 minutes which is ridiculous! When we saw our cat we were shocked! He never had such an ugly lion cut! It looks like they were doing fast hair cut for those extra 30 min they asked us to wait.
Do not recommend this place! Will never come back!

I brought my cat in with an appointment, the place was packed!!! I read a some negative reviews regarding cats, but they we’re great with my Sassy. I got the lion cut because she had become matted due to my inexperience with long hair cats. They told me she did a great job, she was welcome back anytime, and that she was easy to work on. Only thing I wish that would have been done differently was leave more hair around her neck to give her a real lion like look. The owner and one of her employees were really nice to me, they know what they are talking about.

People need to know the truth of this place !!!

Me and my friend brought her kitty in to get bath. And she is the most mellow and friendly kitty I’ve ever seen. Trust me I own three cats and I also do foster. I bath her before when I was cat sitting for my friend no fight back no biting she just sit in the bath tub looking at you. And I barely even see her so it’s not because she knows me!
When we pick her up she was already in the carrier which is fine. She kept meowing the whole way home which is odd she is a quiet cat, we got home and let her out we saw her back paw was cover in blood! She has white paws that’s why we can see right away ! I called them right away to confront them, at first they told us they don’t know what happend to her then they said she was scratching the cage when she was in the store that’s how she got hurt. really? One of my cat scratch the cage when he is in the cage too but I’ve only seen him scratch the cage with his front paws. And they also said that we gave you 5% off for the service. Wow really 5% off big deal my friend didn’t even notice the 5% off. Do you think people really care about that 5% when they pay 70 – 80 dollars to take their pet to the groomer? I told them this is not about the money they were just like oh big deal it’s just a minor cut I was too furious to talk to them I hung up and took the poor baby girl to the vet. Even the vet say they cut the nail too deep! Thank you vet !
I’ve brought my cat to the groomer in petco before they accidentally cut his nail too deep. Instead of blaming on the cage they apologize right when I went pick him up and offer me 20% off I didn’t even notice he was hurt they took care of his cut and cleaned up. I told the groomer don’t feel bad I know how crazy my cat is lol.
This incident happend back in March I’m writing this review right now because my other friend sent me the link and ask me have I ever been here I told her what happend. She suggest me write it on here so everybody knows what kind of service they offer!
Btw if you don’t mind driving kitty city in Edmond are the best ! They are so good with kitty! I think they have some kind of magic power when my crazy cat is there he is very calm and mellow to them.

Finding a dog groomer has not been easy. I can’t even tell you how many I’ve been through — especially trying to find one that doesn’t charge over $ 60 — and that includes big pet store chains. I have a 11 lb. Morkie (maltese yorkie mix) and I was so HAPPILY surprised by Best Friends Grooming Salon. Ok, it did cost more than I wanted to spend — but groomers have really increased their prices so it didn’t surprise me to have to spend $ 55. What did surprise me is how CUTE the cut turned out to be. My instruction: short on the body and a yorkie head. I’m pretty consistent in the instruction I give to groomers BUT this is the first time I REALLY LIKED the cut. Can’t say enough good things. :)
Give them a try — you won’t be disappointed.

My rescue Westie resembled Yeti on a bad day, and our regular groomer wasn’t able to see her for a month (yes, a MONTH!), so I called Best Friends and they were able to book an appt a few days later. The price quoted for the grooming was the same as the other two groomers I know/​have used in the past. I liked how I could drop off my pooch early in the morning and pick her up by noon.
Upon pick up, the salon was busier than it had been when I dropped off my pooch, as there were 3 groomers there and multiple dogs — some on tables, and more, in stacked kennels against the wall. I didn’t see my doggie, but was told she «didn’t handle» the stacked kennels well (she really isn’t well socialized, so I wasn’t surprised), and they went to get her from the back (what I call «solitary confinement» LOL! THere were some kennels in the rear of the salon, behind a closed door. Not sure if there was a light on back there, but it’s probably a good thing to have separate holding areas for highly-​stressed dogs, like mine). At any rate, my dog looked AMAZING. She got probably the best hair cut of her life here. And our groomer, Karen, said my dog was «very good» while being groomed. So that was reassuring!
One strange thing: when I entered the salon to pick up my dog, one of the groomers tending to a dog at a nearby table glanced at me, scowling. Not sure if it was because my dog had been stressed out at the salon or what. But even my kid who was with me noticed that the «human environment» here was rather icy. Strange, for a new client like myself, who was notably very happy with my dog’s hair cut, to get a cold shoulder from the staff. You’d think they’d be smiling at me and commenting on how great my dog looks and chatting with me and my kid and making us feel welcome. Nope. I did think that rather odd. Granted, they were all busy. But how much effort is a smile or a «Have a nice day! Glad you came here!» to a new customer??? I must say, I didn’t feel very welcome here at all.
I know we will bring our dog back here, as she got a wonderful haircut.
