Cocoon Float Pods

Excellent customer service, very accommodating, and the facility is clean and well appointed. My husband and I enjoyed our first floats here the other night and it was a fun experience. Each pod is in a private room with a shower and all the amenities you’ll need (Q-​tips, tissues, towels, ice water, toiletries, etc.). You can choose to have colored lights and music in the pod while floating, or not. The pods were immaculate. We highly recommend Cocoon Float Pods!

I started going to Cocoon Float Pods in September and have been there at least 6 times since then. Every time has been absolutely perfect! I love the spa décor and the individual attention. I will continue to be going here and recommend anyone who has not tried floating to at least try it a couple of times.

I had been hearing rave reviews about Float Pods, so my mom bought me Groupon for this place for my birthday. I was a little nervous leading up to it; a small enclosed pod, what if I have a panic attack? Can I drown? Will I be super tired after?
Trying to make an appointment was a challenge, but it totally wasn’t their fault. I would call and leave a message for an appointment, and they would call back and I was at work. Totally just a timing problem, nothing to do with them. They called me back every time.
I went in on a Friday afternoon. The girl that greeted me was very friendly. She had me view a video of how to float, frequently asked questions (no you will not drown), and different positions to try.
Since it was my first float, a girl walked me through everything in the room; what to do before/​after, how to control lights in the pod/​music. They provide fresh towels (that are super fluffy), earplugs, Vaseline (to put on your cuts so the salt doesn’t sting), shampoo, conditioner and body wash. You have a private shower as well. There is a room down the hall with a hairdryer if needed.
When you get in the light in the pod is on and you can change the colors on it, but I opted to have it off, as most people do. Inside of the pod they also provide you a towel, a glass of water to drink and a spray bottle (to get the salt water out of your eyes if you move around… like I did). When you get in you kinda bump around for a few minutes till the water settles; I tapped the walls a few times with my head or arms. Relax your neck, your head won’t go under and it feels much better. It took me awhile to shut my mind down, breathe and relax. Let me tell you though, once I did, this was FANTASTIC! I even feel like I drifted off to sleep for a bit. The water temperature is not too hot, not too cold, but I would’ve preferred a tad warmer. One guy in the waiting room says he has his floats at a warmer temperature. Might try that next time.
After getting out and showering and all that, I was surprised at how good I felt. I was so refreshed and my body didn’t feel tense anymore, I felt pretty relaxed. It was fantastic. I also slept like a baby that night haha. Make sure to keep hydrated too!
I am so excited to come back and do it again. The more you do it, the better benefits will be. I have not felt so calm or relaxed in a very long time, and would love to feel that way all the time!

This place is awesome. Highly recommend Cocoon Float Pods. Unlike other float studios there is actually free parking right next to the building. This may sound trivial, but in my experience this is a huge issue with other float studios in the Puget Sound area. Also, unlike other float spaces in Seattle it’s quiet, relaxing, tranquil, and clean. Best part of all you’ll be greeted by Simba the resident companion dog. I thought it was just me, but after reading the other reviews seems Simba gets along with just about everybody ;)

This was my husband’s and my first float and I couldn’t have picked a better spot. Our experience was better than expected. The location was extremely clean, bright and white. The individual rooms were well equipped with everything that we could need. I would highly recommend this location for anyone wanting to experience floating for the first time!

The facility is spotless and Dr. Shimizu and staff are delightful. You can float with lights or no lights, music or no music and lid open or closed. So restful. When finished, you shower in your private room with yummy natural products. Highly recommend it… once in a while or all the time.

Of the three float facilities in the Greater Seattle area — this was by far the BEST — great décor, exceptionally clean, organic amenities, big soft towels. The heat put me in a bad funk … but now I’m relaxed and HAPPY! My float was very therapeutic — will be back in a couple weeks!

My husband and I had the experience of a lifetime today at Cocoon Float Pods at the AIM Clinic. This was our first time in a float tank and while I was excited about trying it, I didn’t really know what to expect and my husband was apprehensive about it and even a bit nervous as he is not someone who likes being in water. But Dr. Shimizu and the staff are amazing and make you feel welcome and educate you prior to your treatment to ensure that you are comfortable and well informed. And then there is the floating itself. Wow! It was so incredibly relaxing and invigorating at the same time. The treatment rooms and tanks are so pristine and everything about the experience is therapeutic. We are now true believers that floating can be as supportive to your health and wellness as massage and acupuncture and would be a great adjunct therapy. Even my husband was blown away and is ready to get back in the pod! Cocoon Float Pods provide a float experience that will help you maximize on the therapeutic benefits, from their excellent and caring service to the beautiful and comforting environment that they have created. I would highly recommend them for the best float experience available. We will definitely be back!

Well, as soon as I entered I’m greeted by a dog who acts like he knows me really well. He seems to be the reincarnation of the dog I grew up with — obeyed every order I gave and we played the same games — tug of war with a giant ball.
Anyway, this is about the float right? They started off with having me sign a waiver and creating an online account on an iPad, then I watched a video explaining the process. One thing that bothered me was that the inventor of the Pod was wearing a raccoon hat… hardly trustworthy or dignified but anyway the illustrations were very helpful and they demonstrated different floating positions which I planned on trying. Then got walked to a room with the Pod, shown the ropes and then off to the shower to rinse off before heading into the Pod.
The float was quite interesting indeed. You’re supposed to try to clear your mind and relax but part of me was thinking «what kind of Unilocal review will I write?» I had them play music during the float and I played with the lights a bit which offers different colours. I think the most effective is to just turn the lights off — you enter such a weird mental state where you really can’t tell whether your eyes are open or closed. It really is like being in the womb — except I kept becoming aware of my float and how I was not resting my head back enough to relax my neck… or bouncing off a wall (how can this pod possibly be too small for me??).
The water temp was okay — the non-​submerged parts of me were a little cool and I could just overall use more heat. There was a bit of a chlorinated smell, not as strong as a swimming pool but very much present.
5 minutes until the end when the music clicks off (there was a perceptible buzz) and then the water jets start coming on again. I emerged relaxed, and this was reinforced by the head and neck massage I had afterward.
After a very stressful week, I’m glad I coincidentally booked a suitable time. Booking weeks in advance doesn’t let me just pop in and say «this week is crazy, I need a float». I think I’ll return but jury’s still out on the lasting effects.

I absolutely loved every single aspect of my float!
Like at least a few of the other reviewers, I am extremely claustrophobic and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous when I walked in. But after reading up on their website and seeing that they’ve never had anyone report having any issues, I made my first appointment.
First off, scheduling and purchasing floats was super easy. I was so worried about traffic from Redmond that I arrived a full 45 minutes early. When I got to the appointment I was really happy with the cleanliness and tranquility of the space. It’s a beautiful, minimalistic spa. :) They didnt have an appointment ahead of me so they were able to fit me in earlier than my scheduled appointment.
When I got into the room, I expressed my hesitation about my claustrophobia and they showed me how to work the lights in the pod itself, which is HUGE. I was thrilled at how understanding everyone was and how they answered my endless questions.
The float was very relaxing, I dozed off a few times, which I didn’t expect, and found that normally busy mind was able to let go of a ton of things. I also used the time to work through my sometimes debilitating anxiety. I completely lost track of time in the pod, but they brought me out of my trance-​like state with soothing music for the last couple of minutes.
Coming out of the pod and back into the real world wasn’t jarring at all. They provide a safe and tranquil space to get back in the swing of things. It was the perfect transitionary experience.
I slept like a baby that night, and found myself less reactionary even a week after the float.
I am so happy that I booked two more floats, and I have been recommending Cocoon Float Pods to ALL of my friends. I cannot wait to go back there!

This was my first float and it was very relaxing. honestly, my friends were laughing at me for paying to float but HA! I can laugh at their faces now.
So, basically you shower and shampoo your hair before entering the pool and shut the world out inside the tiny tank. While youre in the tank you get a bottle of spray filtered water and a towel. All of these will be needed, especially the spray. Once you get salt water in your eyes it will burn haha learned my lesson here.
In the beginning I was splashing around while floating but when I decided to turn off the tank light I immediately fell into a very light relaxed sleep.
Let your body float and enjoy every second because time will run fast.
I also want to thank the employees for being so helpful! Theyre very friendly and full of answers. My father is very claustrophobic and has anxiety issues due to his stroke, becuase he was nervous at that time his leg wasnt being coporative with him. But the receptionist showed no issue with this and recheduled his appt.
FINALLY the result?! I dont have much pressure on my neck and my lower back any more, I would say my body feels LIFTED.

All I have to say is OMG. Just got home after a float about 4 hours ago.
Floating is super relaxing. I’m so mellowed out, it’s taking me a long time to write this review. The facility is new, modern, and immaculate. Everyone is super friendly and accommodating. I love it here, and highly recommend Cocoon and floating to all the stressed out people out there. I can’t wait to have more experiences under my belt. Floating is a great tool for meditation too. I’m recommending floating to everyone I know.

This is lengthy so jump ahead to the last paragraph if you only want the 411.
I heard about the float tanks but never had enough interest sparked to look into the experience.
I was recommended to use a float tank by an acquaintance in order to achieve greater personal awareness so I decided to investigate. After quite a bit of research, I realized I was given some priceless advice and signed up for an hour session.
The location is a bit confusing. A large Cocoon Float sign hangs atop the USPS office across the Brazilian steakhouse in Factoria but I only saw doors leading into the post office :) Then I realize, thanks to the ever so cordial Brittany, that I had to enter through double doors at the far right of the building. Indeed, I see an elevator and some stairs leading up to another floor that spans the whole building.
Cocoon Float shares some space with the AIM Clinic. The first impression I get as I enter the space is one of Zen quality. The room is filled with natural light, the white walls further enhance the ambient airy brightness, while the white ash wooden floor provides a very pleasant complementary grounding effect. The décor is minimalist with clean lines and a few mini trees. A few rooms where AIM clients are treated are separate from the main reception area.
So far so good, and I am making friends with the serene and gentle Simba.
You are given an iPad to watch an introductory video about floating. I did not dare disturb the peace by playing it but was reassured that it was OK.
I am then led to my personal area. As I enter the room, I am struck about the tastefully appointed space. A large pod is open with gently swirling water illuminated by a blue light. It looks very inviting. Various mats dot the floor, a shower occupies one corner, and a high ceiling features hanging lamps. The place reminds me of featured homes in luxury real estate magazines. It’s impeccable and evidently clean.
Ear plugs, a quick shower, a big breath, and I’m in. Since it was my first, I had asked for introductory music for 10 minutes. I shut the lid and oh, my, it’s like lying on «thick» water. The massive amount of Epsom salt diluted into the 10-​inch-​or-​so-​deep body temperature water gives you the impression that you are lying on a fluffy, cottony, cloud. I immediately shut off the music as i find it distracting.
It is pitch dark. Whether I open my eyes or not, there is no difference. It is cozy, really, so the Cocoon moniker is highly appropriate and I feel completely safe. Now, I was aware that the main obstacle to fully take advantage of the experience is to be able to relax. That was the hardest part for me but I reasoned that I’d be there for one hour so sooner or later I’ll be fine once I get over the strangeness of the situation. It is quite odd for your body not deal with the endless distractions of external stimuli and gravity.
I lay on my back and I did not realize my arms position could play a big role. I feel pressure on my neck with my arms lying to the side. I eventually bring them up in a U shape with my hands by my ears and feel much more balanced. Something to keep in mind if you experience the same thing. Also, do not touch your face with your salty hands, your eyes won’t appreciate it. There is a bottle of spring water within reach to wash away the offender.
It takes me a while to relax and only start experiencing interesting stuff towards the end of the hour for a brief moment with fascinating insights. I am «brought back» by the music playing again an get out for a drink of water and a shower. Physically, I feel completely relaxed. Your body goes through detox as well so you need to drink water. All in all, it feels like unfinished business for me so I will go back. You could read more about it and watch videos (Joe Rogan), but the key is to be open and leave expectations at the door. No matter what happens, it is well worth the time. Physically, intellectually, spiritually, and/​or creatively, you will gain something even on the first day you do this. I enjoyed my float. They gave good instructions and remembered to turn off the music after 10 minutes as we discussed.
I found the experience to be like a bath but more relaxing. I would like to do a longer float, 90 minutes or more.
I felt for a few minutes like I was in space. Also I felt empowered during the experience.

I have floated 5 times in one of these at Cocoon Float Pods. It has been the best thing I have done for my self in 30 years. It’s so relaxing and what they say in this video is true! You’ve got to try it. It takes a few time before I learned to relax. But once I learned how to relax, it was awesome! I signed up for the subscription! Bought 1-​hour float sessions for Christmas presents for a few people. The place was clean and the receptionist was very helpful. My brother loved it. Can’t wait to try it myself!

There’s magic in this place… it begins with Cymba, who’ll calm you as you wait your pod, then there’s the emptiness of waiting space where less is more and finally there’s the host (Genevieve) will completely disarm you of your trepidation.
This was my first and when I finished up, I hurried (as fast as one can possibly glide after a float) to Genevieve and bought more!
Post a brief intro, I entered the pod and within a few mins (time is relative here) I wuz gone, gone, gone.
I transcended rather unexpectedly. In my daily meditation it can take awhile but this sets a new mental benchmark. It felt as if I had the cumulative of a mons worth of sitting meditation.
The benefits continued, last night I had the most lucid dreams…

I had never floated before and the experience provided was great from beginning to end. For first timers, you start out by watching a video on floating so you can become familiar with how to relax and how floating works. You then are taken to your own private room which has a shower and float pod. Everything looked new and clean, and it felt like a spa. I had trouble concentrating at times and fully letting go of my mind, but that was just due to me trying this out for the first time. I wouldn’t mind trying it out again in the future at this venue.

It is very modern beautiful Float Therapy place in Bellevue. I floated three times and each times got better and better! Finally at third float, i went into Theta state (somewhere i felt really really good) for one hour and came back to reality! Awesome! I recommend highly at this beautiful modern float place in heart of Bellevue (Factoria)!!!
