Don’t pay any attention to the open at 10AM notice. I’m sitting here at 10 after 10 in the mall and they have not come close to opening the doors.

The food is fresh. The service is fast. And we never have to wait! There’s no ladies pushing dim sum carts but at least you can have dimsum any day or time. The plates are most expensive than other places but I think it’s worth it since it’s clean and new inside.

Me and my wife have been regulars at this place for over a year. We’re surprised at some of the low rating reviews they got. FOOD: Most of the food is good, their Dim Sum is great, and I LOVE their Wesley Beef Soup. SERVICE: This place is full of hard working happy people. Our favorite waiter is Kevin. He makes us feel like family and he’s always smiling and in an excellent mood. We’ve always been very well taken care of when we come here. Our glasses are always full of water and staff regular check-ins with us to see if we need anything else. FACILITY: Yes this place is a little more pricey than other restaurants. However there is no waiting in line, lots of parking, and the facility is beautiful and spacious.

Expensive. Tasteless. Tiny portions. Charge you $$$$ for tea. Dim sum takes a long time to come out. So sad. Top Gun around the corner is so much better in all regards, except parking.

Definitely a factory that spits out quick, but less than mediocre quality dimsum. The portions of the dimsum are fairly large, so its very hard to go with just a party of two. Nothing I tried passed the bar. Egg tarts, mini foots balls, xlb, just all. very very disappointing. We also ordered an order of wonton mein. Not too bad. better than the dimsum. A bit on the the bland side. Made me miss«congee noodle house — vancouver, bc» so much. SOSOSOMUCH. Won’t have this on the list of to visit anytime soon, or ever again.

This place, man does it disappoint. The only redeeming quality is that the facilities are decent. Service is lacking as they never refill your tea(tea costs 1.25/person FYI) nor do they check in on you. It’s literally drop menu with you, take down your order, bring your food out and then drop off the bill. So really there is no service there. A robot could serve me better. Second: food and cost. Two people somehow equates to a $ 60 bill. The portions are tiny, they don’t have legit dim sum(why are you named Dim Sum Factory, if you have no dim sum?!), and they serve you frozen/reheated old food. So learn from my mistake, don’t come here, don’t buy that Groupon deal — the food here is not fresh and way overpriced. I’d be shocked if this place is still around in two years time, but who knows — they’re in a well-trafficked area so at least they got that going for them.

Poor service & arrogant staff. Dim sum not nearly as tasty as top gun or Din Tai fung. Ginger beef flavorless with huge chunks of ginger.

When you see a restaurant sign that says«Dim Sum Factory» one would naturally assumed they serve dim sum. To me the definition of dim sum is tasty little treats that come in little steam baskets on a cart. There are many different choices and usually all of them are good. I was looking forward to having some dim sum today. Imagine my surprise when the surly server told me they don’t serve dim sum. He told me I could leave if I wanted. That would’ve been a great idea but I was hungry, so I decided to stay. Bad choice. I ordered hot and spicy chicken. Between the onions and red and green bell pepper, I spotted 3 small pieces of chicken. No water refill, no check back. What a joke. I should have done as the server suggested and left. Never again.

The food is good but pricy and portion is ridiculous small. We ended up ordering few more dishes in order to have enough.

I ordered congee to go. Food was ok, but they overcharged me. Transaction was for 7.65, but they took it upon themselves to add tip and round up to $ 10. Haven’t had a chance to call them yet to straighten this out as I just discovered this. Keep your receipts when you go here! !

This review is for the bakery part. Purchased a slice of strawberry mouse cake and when flip it, we realized that it had mold on the bottom part of the cake.

First time here, but DSF deserves more than 2.5 stars, c’mon guys! Wife and I ordered the following: 1. Beef Tendon & Brisket Soup Noodles — Good, broth was rich and good flavor, noodles have that fresh springy bite, tendon and brisket was soft and tender 2. Sampan Congee — Good, they didn’t skimp on the amount ingredients like some places. Ingredients were fresh 3. Chinese Doughnut Wrapped In Rice Noodle — Good, the chinese doughnut was freshly made and crunchy, came with a side of Hoisin /Peanut Butter Sauce which was different. Also had two pieces of baby bak choy to dress the plate, which is totally not necessary! 4. Xiao Long Bao — Goodish? Like other reviewers said, think Din Tai Fung, but lighter taste. However those that know me, know that I think of Din Tai Fung as the McDonald’s of Xiao Long Bao. Which is to say, infinitely better than XLBs u can get in Seattle’s ID, but there are better XLBs out there. Décor — The place is great! Open floor design, open kitchen, modern, clean. Can’t say that about many restaurants in the ID. Price — Yes, it’s expensive, but the food and portions are good enough to warrant it. I’m not Richie Rich, but I’m always willing to pay more for good food than less money for bad food. Parking — PLENTY! No need to find, wait, or pay! Service — Usual Chinese restaurant staff, wasn’t bad, but always room for improvement.

(Note: this is for the pastry shop only– haven’t yet eaten at the restaurant) I LOVECHINESEBUNS. That sounds kind of funny if taken out of context… but anyways back to the point :) I’ve eaten many Chinese pastries in my life and know a good and bad one when I taste it. These are legitimately pretty good! Not Golden Gate Bakery good(my Bay Area peeps know what I’m talking ’bout!!) but pretty darn good for being in a neighborhood in Seattle. The moon cake was really really fresh and it was the end of the day! It had a super soft and delicious lotus paste filling and a really fresh pastry shell(sometimes they are hard or flake off or dry). The lady said they make them there! The hot dog bun(yes, I like those!!) Was also very fresh: the bun was soft, fluffy, and just a touch sweet. The hot dog was… a hot dog. .but at least it wasn’t shriveled like some others I’ve eaten. :) The red bean bao and boluo bao were both good. Soft, flaky, tasty. A good bao that hit the spot! Price was not outrageous– pretty on par with bellevue eateries though more than the ID. Moon cake was $ 4.75, boluo bao and hot dog bun were $ 1.79 I believe. Overall what stood out was the good quality and freshness! I would recommend it.

This place has a lot of classic Cantonese dishes and does them pretty well. I have not tried the dim sum here, nor do I ever plan to. They have weird portions and absurd prices. I ordered some congee, shui gao and fried rice. The congee was too salty and I felt like I could taste the flavoring/msg. However, the texture was good. The shui gao wrapping was silky and had a generous amount of shrimp. It was pretty close to home cooking, so I was impressed. I got the chicken and salty fish fried rice. I didn’t expect to find such an authentic, pungent dish outside of the international district. They did a good job, too. The restaurant was clean and modern. The service was ok. The portions were extremely generous, and the prices were ok for the non dim sum items.

decent alternative to Din Tai Fung if you like the shao ling buns. I like it over Din Tai fung as there was no wait and easy parking in Factoria Square. the rest of the menu is Cantonese style, salt and pepper squid, and your standard dim sum menu. Not sure if the rest is made on site or frozen from China, like most Dim sum. six of us ate for around 130 including a 20% tip.

The 2 ½ star rating is warranted. It felt chaotic in there. It’s modern décor which I like but I couldn’t wait to leave. Which took a while because the service was so slow. The food was flavorless. If you are expecting Din Tai Fung or Dough Zone, don’t step one foot in here. The juicy pork dumplings are gross. Way too much soup in them and the juice that comes out is mostly congealed fat. The pork fried rice was flavorless and while the green beans were the best part of the meal, that’s not saying much. I felt unsatisfied and gross having eaten here. I knew what I was getting myself into based on the reviews but I thought. nah. These reviewers are just being picky. Nope! They speak the truth. Go elsewhere. Or be like us and DO go here, just so you confirm where you normally go, is far superior.

Yes, I like this place. I came here for lunch today(around 11:55) and my group of 3 was pleasantly greeted by the hostess and sat immediately. We sat in a nice, clean, cozy booth. There was a bit of a lunch rush but there were plenty of waiters/waitresses to serve everyone. We really enjoyed the Juicy Pork Dumplings! These were outstanding! Second best was the BBQ pork buns. We also had an order of pot stickers and the Shrimp Shiu Mai. Everything was very flavorful and fresh and each item came to us steaming hot. The tea was also delicious! Our server was outstanding and overall I was very impressed with our dinning experience. We were in and out in about 30 minutes and it was very busy in the dinning room. Plenty of parking nearby. Lots of large tables for big groups.

Nice restaurant and interior, and friendly staff. The food is pretty tasty, and the bakery items aren’t too bad. The Garlic Seafood Fried Rice is good, and the Pork & Shrimp Shiu Mai is good, and I really really like their House Special Chow Mein. I just wish they had a little more on the menu. And unlike other dim sum places I’ve been to, their dim sum aren’t in small portions so that you can easily try a little bit of everything. You can’t try a variety of dim sum items without spending a lot of money; they’re bigger portions and pretty pricey. They also have a bakery with nice-looking cakes and buns, which are pretty light and not too heavy, so you can have one after your lunch and dinner and not feel too overstuffed.

When I first walked into Dim Sum Factory, I was impressed by how clean and new the restaurant looked. I was hoping for cart service and the smaller portions I typically get for dim sum, but you have to order from a menu here and get full orders of each dish(for example, rather than 4 shumai, you get 8 in an order). For our family of five, we ordered the following: 2 orders of XLB, clams with black bean sauce, spare ribs, wontons in spicy vinaigrette, Chinese broccoli with garlic, pork and shrimp shumai, salt and pepper pork chop. The XLB here were really good — smaller than normal, but I liked that they were bite-sized. Big hit with the kids, as usual. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to fulfill a soup dumpling craving. We were also happy to see clams with black bean sauce on the menu, but they are pretty pricey($ 14.99) and I had to be careful to avoid pieces of clam shell while eating. But the black bean sauce was delicious. I liked the pork and shrimp shumai, but my husband didn’t enjoy it as much, citing there to be too much shrimp. The spare ribs and pork chop were disappointing. The spare ribs were fatty, and the pork chops were not very crispy. The wontons in spicy vinaigrette were just ok — wontons were bigger than what we were expecting, and the sauce was not spicy or particularly tasty. Chinese broccoli was average. I will say that the restaurant’s chili sauce, which is found on each table, is delicious. I made a dipping sauce of the chili sauce and soy sauce and dipping every ho hum food item in there made it much more palatable. So, I’d say if I were shopping at Factoria Mall, I would return for the XLB. But given our near $ 100(after tip) bill, it’s just too expensive for dim sum.
