History

Established in 2005.

Started as a non-​consignment shop for a few artist, myself included. Now have over 35 artist and continue to be a non-​consignment venture. Feature art at artist prices. Pay the same at Field of Vue as you would at the festival or art fair. Feature an artist on the Bellevue First Friday each month.

Business Owner

Long time gardener/​woodworker with an appreciation for the arts. Brother Wayne is a potter and great inspiration to many. I have been a Bonsai/​Japanese inspired artist for over 40 years. As such get to turn off the loud woodworking machines and work with hand tools only, more time consuming but also more rewarding.

How did I find this place!
Glad I did. I bought a beautiful bird feeder that has a very bizarre paint job. It’s such a strange item I don’t think I’ll even put it outside because I don’t want the rain to ruin it.
Perhaps I can use it as a business card holder on my desk instead.

FOVA (Field of Vue Art) is a great place to get original works of art, painting, pottery, wood work, jewelry, bonsai plants, etc. Tucked away behind Past n Presents, it’s a secluded little oasis in the center of a great town (Bellevue). 30+ foot bamboo fills the zen-​like area as does handmade birdhouses, etc. It’s a great spot to hang out, esp. during First Friday events as it’s full of live music. Well worth coming to.

I rate this place 5 stars which according to Unilocal means «Woohoo! As good as it gets!»
However, I’m not quite sure what the ‘it’ in this case is.
Field of Vue is an eclectic shop of various art and craft works and garden and plant items.
It is my wife’s dream of a back yard. Tucked in behind and sandwiched between two buildings, Lem runs the shop out of a shed and back lot and he’s designed it to really be a wonder. You walk over paths and under twinkle lights and the 30 foot bamboo that arches over you.
The ‘it’, I guess, is a gift shop. But that’s really not right. I have a feeling the ‘it’ is simply a reflection of the man who runs the place — his passions and interests. The items for sale are items he enjoys. If that’s true then he’d be a nice man to know because his shop is a nice place to be and I’m compelled to always take something away for someone else or myself.

Field of Vue is one of those hidden gems of the community — literally. Tucked away down a dirt path behind the shops of Fairfield Avenue, this gallery’s most prominent feature is the garden out front.
Last night, we arrived to see a bonfire, as well as the shrubbery decorated in blue holiday lights. The owner was showing off his fine woodworkings, including bird feeders and wine stoppers. Other artists had painting and handmade jewelry on display inside the shop. But what impressed me the most was the woodworking. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore folks. Fine craftsmanship is hard to find. Luckily, it’s located right here in Bellevue.
