Fred Meyer

So I called this place before I decided to mosey on down to the Kirkland Fred Meyers. Not even sure if this place has a jewelers section but apparently they transferred me to it when I called to confirm. The lady answered the phone and I told her I was looking to get my watch adjusted. Clearly she was with sales cause she quickly mumbled something about the specialist getting back at… Yeah I didn’t catch at what time cause she mumbled and spoke way too fast. Then before I could get her to repeat the time orrr get pricing or make sure they could even work on my watch she just hung up on me! I was literally down the street when I called and I went out of my way to drive to Kirkland to get my watch done. This place gets one more star cause sometimes I’ll roll in here for a cold drink and they have a good selection.

I bought a sectional furniture from bellevue Wa fred meyer, it came in 2 pieces a sofa and chaise, When i came to pick it up the manager mike loaded only 1 piece, when i asked about the other piece he said this is all he has and showed an attitute towards me. He was dismimsive as if i am asking for more. I knew i had to get another piece and he showed frustration toward me. I said i can show him in the store what i purchased. Reluctantly he was willing to come to see and .When he saw it he realized the missign chaise peice and asked me to drive back to the loading dock. At the end he loaded up the missing piece. Right now i am good however i am not happy with Mike and the experience i had with him.

Horrible service. Incompetent staff. Yet another example as to why the grocery industry is struggling, and losing out to places like Whole Foods/​Trader Joes/​etc

This store is difficult to navigate because of overcrowding. There are even bolted on displays protruding into the aisles from store shelves. Lots of valuable floor space is consumed by merchandise displays. This store is frequently too crowded with people to accommodate HQ’s demands for marketing displays.
I will have a difficult time returning due to the shopping conditions.
The location is great, the employees are very helpful. A produce staff member removed all the packages of fresh but moldy berries that I pointed out to him tonight.

Freddies can be either the most peaceful place in the world or a jungle with probably a few hundred people running into each other, depending on when you go. This one seems to have poor looking produce which rots more quickly than that from Safeway or QFC. If you roam housewares and clothing isles good luck finding an employee, or finding the exit before sundown for that matter.

My boyfriend and I love the Kirkland Fred Meyer. We go in there, interact with the employees, are goofs, and love it. Everyone is super friendly and helpful when we are at the Kirkland location. Today we ventured to the Bellevue one and we’re both extremely disappointed. A lot of the food we wanted looked very well handled, and there were lots of areas that had missing merchandise because it wasn’t stocked. There was food on the ground, and then when we went to check out, the cashier was very lazy and not friendly at all. We visit the Kirkland location 2 – 3 times/​week and have never had this problem. Very disappointed in the Bellevue location.

Fred Meyers gets 5 stars from me!
I just wanted to thank the Bellevue Fred Meyer bakery staff for their help with my cake. I got tears out of the birthday girl and it made everyone’s night. No one else locally would take my request electronically. I was unable to drop off the photo to be printed onto the cake in person anywhere and needed to email it. My sister recommended Fred Meyer so I called. The team ran with my request and made it happen. The cake looked so good we didn’t even want to cut it, but when we did, it was delicious! And so affordable.
The cake really meant a lot to me and my loved ones! I really appreciate it. Thank you so much Fred Meyer.

Its Like a Walmart only on a smaller scale with much better customer service. Fresh food from the deli and meat department. And they have everything you could possibly need at reasonable prices.

All in one store that is just better than walmart in quality, competitive in pricing compared to costco.
The only bad thing is that it makes you walk a lot. But that is only if you are setting up a new home and buying everything from laundry bags to cat food.
Cant complain.

They seem to have most of the things I am looking for when I go there but I HATE those yellow sale coupons they have throughout the store. They are such a lost leader unless you are trying to buy a couple bags of socks but most of the time a buy one get one free ends up having so many exclusions that you don’t qualify for the sale. I think that is illegal in most states.

I am finished with going into this location. Debbie, the «macro photographer,» does not know what customer service is. We went up to customer service, looking for a coupon because everyone in this store sends us on scavenger hunt for the coupons that are never hanging where they are supposed to be (this system obviously does not work– just put it on the rewards card like everyone else in the modern age), and she told us that «any cashier could have done the same thing» and proceeded to ring us up. She spent forever ranting about how we could have gone to anyone in the store about it (I guess because she was getting hangry and wanted her lunch break, but chose to stay and finish the line with a scowl).
The thing is, we weren’t even ready to check out. We were just looking for the coupon and since no one on the floor was actually available (walked past three employees walking around the store on their cell phones. That’s classy.). Really, all she had to do was tell us to bring it up to a cashier and then send us merrily on our way instead of talking to us like we are stupid.
I’ve been on the other side of the counter and I know how customer service feels, which is why I’m normally incredibly tolerant of crappy customer service and I try hard to not make customer service workers feel like crap… but the thing is, I get it now. I am finally understanding why so many people are horrible to customer service workers… because there is so much bad customer service.
Not long ago, I tried to check out and my credit card kept declining. It took five tries and two different cashiers to actually tell me what the problem was, which I immediately fixed (apparently the reason is printed out on a receipt! Who knew?). I had another problem where I actually brought an item to a cashier and she said that she couldn’t give me the discount because I didn’t have the coupon that was not hanging by the socks… And she told me straight up that I must not have seen it– even though I looked everywhere. I am tired of the people in this location blaming their mistakes on me.

I’ve shopped here for the better part of two years (off and on), and had thought of it as your average market, until tonight. I had seen a lamp-​set marked down, and in the clearance section on a Saturday, and came back for it the following Sunday. Lamp-​set was still there, though shoved underneath their clearance table. When I brought it to the register, it rang up incorrectly and I ended up speaking to the manager. After seeing FOUR distinctly separate prices, I walked away empty-​handed because the manager failed to honor the price. The situation was handled well, and the manager was very polite and friendly — but at the end of the day, the price wasn’t honored. I not only feel mislead, but also disappointed because now I am sitting in a lamp-​less office writing this review.

About the only thing in this place’s favor is that it’s close to apartments on 148^th. That’s really the only reason anyone would want to come here. It’s also probably why they get away with such an awful store.
Most people go to Freddie’s for groceries, and they barely make a passing grade. They’ve got… bread… and frozen dinners… and salt. Don’t get your hopes up for anything more. The aisles are laid out so confusing that I didn’t even find peanut butter or jelly. And if you’re a vegetarian, forget trying to find a nice meal. They’ve got the bare minimum of meat alternatives.
What’s outside of groceries, you say? You don’t wanna know. Don’t go there. The non-​grocery sections have an unpleasant, deserted feeling.
First off, the atmosphere. There’s way too much floor space, meaning most of it’s empty of customers and thus unpleasantly lonely. The lighting is limited, giving the place a dim and depressing feel. The ceilings are way too high (which makes for a weird soundlessness). The signs are very dated. The whole place feel like the 1990s.
The products are awful.
Their clothes are extraordinarily tacky — you’d find them cheaper and more stylish at H and M.
Their furniture is staid and boring — you’d find them cheaper and more stylish and Ikea.
Their selection of books and magazines is limited to the worst of the tabloids — just go to Barnes and Noble.
The service is terrible. I was checking out once and had purchased something from the electronics section, but the clerk had the nerve to ask me for the receipt. Really? If I was stealing something do you think I would brandish it in front of you? It really annoys me when staff members don’t trust their customers.
The inextricable part of it all is that this is fairly close to Microsoft. You’d think with the higher-​income clientele they’d have more money to spend on cleaning up the place. Apparently not.

It’s a Freddy’s. And a very large one. I went here because I just started working in Bellevue, and I needed to go to my credit union, of which there is a branch in this Fred Meyer store, and it took me 10 minutes just to find it! In every other Freddy’s that I’ve been to, the banks, pharmacy, optical shop and what-​not were in the front of the store, not the back, as is the case here. It felt like I was walking for miles and miles just to get to the credit union.
I’ve been a pretty consistent customer of Freddy’s over the years that I’ve lived in the Seattle area, and to me, this one was about the like the others, just much bigger. There is a definite appeal to the one-​stop-​shopping concept for us busy working moms, and I generally try to avoid Walmart if at all possible, so Fred Meyer is a regular stop for me.
Things I like about Fred Meyer stores:
–Obviously, the fact that you can get everything from clothing to camping equipment to groceries to hardware
–Freddy’s Playland — lifesaver when my kids were under age 5!
–Great natural/​organic foods section
–Cheap decent-​name-​brand shoes, like Nike sneakers for under $ 50
–Better quality and prices on housewares such as dishes, sheets & pillows than Target. I like Target, but Freddy’s is far better in every way in the housewares department.
–Decent book section
Things I dislike about Fred Meyer:
–the bathrooms are generally decrepit and not the cleanest, regardless of which location you are in
–bad produce section, just not very good quality
–it’s a lot of walking, therefore not a great choice if you just want to run in somewhere and grab something
–bad rewards program
Yeah, I’ll keep going there for the stuff that I like!

For me, it’s all about the people, aka staff. I know Freddies doesn’t pay well, and they get what they pay for. I don’t normally smell funky smelling people unless I am on a downtown bus or in an alley. But there were some really bad smelling people here. And there were some seriously unhappy people here.
Lots of shelves were poorly arranged and/​or stocked. Maybe it was just a bad day. I will be sticking with the Bothell store from now on. Maybe it’s a management problem.

First off I have to say I like me Freddie as much as the next Freddie lover, BUT this location was just aiiiight to me! I came by here today because I had to kill some time before an appointment and it was the closest place to hang out at.
The first thing I noticed was the lighting in the store. It was just off to me. The store seemed to not have proper lighting and seemed kinda dim. Some of the floors were dirty like they didn’t bother to have someone sweep and mop parts of the store? That’s just weird!
Overall I’m sure this place is a very convenient place to shop for the necessities like all other Freddie’s, but I left this location thinking. what happened to this store!!!

Everytime I step in here I feel like I am in the twilight zone. This place gives off such an odd vibe! It strives to be a department store and a grocery store at the same time. Very strange.
The bread section here was not that great. The selection was limited although the prices are cheaper here than at my local QFC.
The Starbucks was thrown out in the corner next to the bakery. To be honest I almost missed it since it was so out of the way.
The clothes here look very cheap (think Walmart quality) yet I still see a lot of items going for like $ 15+. I don’t think I would ever come here for clothing!
The drugs section was okay. A lot of the generic (Kroger) drugs were pretty cheap.

First off: I LOVE FRED MEYER
I have just moved to Northern California, and the options are _​so_​upsetting when I visit this is the FIRST place I want to go to.
This one is great because it is for rich people and their spoiled rotten kids, so you know it will have a wide variety of organic, gluten-​free, meat-​free foods for privileged people at non-​Whole Food prices. Other Fred Meyers do this, and maybe Ballard’s is even better, but this one used to be close to where I worked so you get to watch all the zombie tech people post-​work.
So why a 3? Well, I’m on the line with them now. I hate Safeway but it took me 3 minutes to get a quote on a Thanksgiving turkey. I am still on hold and it’s been 8 minutes, excluding 1 hangup on me. Opp, Nevermind onto 10 minutes with 4 transfers, everyone keeps trying to send me to the deli. I give up. Safeway of Redmond, I’m not a fan of your high prices but at least you guys know who sells turkeys, and how much they cost.
Best foods at FM based on price /​taste:
meats, grapes, nectarines, energy bars.
Bonus fun fact! Look around the parking lot. If you see green tags on rear-​view mirrors it’s a Microsoft employee! I’m laughing at the comments stating this place is «sketchy», etc. These people should visit San Francisco. I don’t even know how to parse what they’re saying.

Store is pretty good
The clientele is almost all minorities though. Most of which look like they just got off the boat. This is fine but be careful in the parking lot for pedestrian s not looking and inside you are likely to get hit by a cart or have someone walk directly into you or block entire isles by people who dont understand the right of way in America.
The safeway nearby had almost no minorities, compared to here at least, so I’m really confused.
Other than the danger of hitting someone or getting hit by someone its all good.
