I can’t comment on the chocolates because one of the men working in the store was so rude tonight that I decided not to purchase or ever patronize this place in the future. For the record, it was a Saturday night with a crowded kids concert and instead of being welcoming, it seemed like they rather not have people with kids come in at all.

hmmm, good chocolate. Careful not to get too spoiled with their treats. If I’m in Crossroads and want a hot chocolate, I much rather go here than to the nearby Starbucks. It takes a little longer for them to make it but the there is a huge difference in quality.

We have been regulars here for years, and sometimes we are in on more than a weekly basis(yes, glad this is anonymous!) In my opinion their handmade chocolates are far better than Frans, Oh!, and other chocolatiers here in Seattle. We love Grendelsweets! The owner is great and Alex rocks. Two words — Go There. ;-)

Many gluten-free choices, and the staff is knowledgeable. While the kitchen definitely uses gluten-containing ingredients and will warn you that they can’t 100% guarantee no contact with gluten or nuts, I’ve watched Elena and her crew often over the years and they are always cleaning carefully, using clean implements, and so on. It’s not mass-produced candy, they take great pride in everything they make, and they will help you find your favorite.

As a very nice accident I came across the GS chocolates, and got a little mixture of them, a surprise package. Unique and yummy. Happy there’s still something nice made locally. An oasis in the Crossroads/E. Bellevue desert(or dessert).

If anyone who knows me sees this review, I am in serious trouble… I’m supposed to be on a diet. My name is Dave, yeah, that’s it, Dave. I love the little caramels from here. Tiramisu, Macha Green Tea, Pumpkin Spice. Ask them to mix up a nice little bag for you. Customer service is good here, and the quality of everything is fantastic. So why 4 stars instead of 5? Here is a little secret… they recognize me in there. If I had a frequent customer come in, I would give them a little something to try every once in a while. Speaking of the diet, they have really good sugar free truffles here, and that is certainly something to try.

Grendelsweets is the reincarnation of Caffe Lento, a coffee shop down the road at desolate Lake Hills Shopping Center. Moving up to Crossroads was definitely a good thing. The move meant they do not offer baked goods here and most coffee drinks. However, it is good that they kept the mochas which makes sense. They offer frozen chocolate, hot chocolate and mochas here. Though the fact that they use pieces of chocolate instead of a syrup is what differentiates Grendelsweets and makes the difference. Got a dark chocolate mocha with whipped cream($ 3.75, medium) which was excellent. Aside from their drinks is their chocolate selection. They sell piece chocolates, lollipops and I saw jars of goober ball chocolates sold by the pound here. You do not have to buy by the pound here though. Saw some small packages of chocolates on the counter which were priced reasonably. Grendelsweets definitely has made Crossroads Mall a sweeter place to visit. If you like mochas, skip Starbucks and give them a try.

It’s really hard to give a good review to a chocolate shop, especially since I’m a fan of all things chocolate.(Except Hershey’s. Hershey’s sucks. And I still firmly believe that white chocolate is NOT chocolate.) But I had a good experience here, so I’m gonna start them off with a solid 4-star review for now, and maybe bump it up(or down, if that’s the way it turns out) when I get a better feel for them. In any case, their customer service is fantastic. The moment I walked in, the lady behind the counter greeted me, and when I asked her for her recommendation, she was very helpful in helping me decide which of the many chocolates they had. In the end, I got a Wild Chocolate Truffle and a Triple Chocolate Truffle, both of which I loved.(Then again, I love all things chocolate, so…) But yeah. Great service, great chocolate, great shop. I’m considering making this place part of my regular mall ritual whenever I visit Crossroads Mall(which is pretty often).

I just recently tried the«Frozen Hot Chocolate» for the first time. I knew the regular hot chocolate was good, but… wow! The frozen hot chocolate has more chocolate(both milk chocolate and dark chocolate) ganache, and is blended with ice. As another reviewer said about the hot chocolate… it is so nice to have real chocolate and not some mass produced syrup from a pump. I believe I’m hooked and will be drinking the frozen hot chocolate until the cool weather comes and I switch back to the«hot» hot chocolate. Give it a try during these warm days. You won’t be sorry.

Their mochas, which feature their delicious chocolates, are so, so good. Really, it’s a huge difference to go from chocolate syrup to using pieces of delicious dark chocolate. Best mocha around, by far. It’s inside the Crossroads Mall — they’re near the event stage in the middle, by the JoAnn’s entrance.
