Mó Pockets

Came to the Bellevue food trucks for lunch, not sure what to expect. Mo Pockets had the shortest line and looked reasonably priced ($ 6/​pocket down to $ 5/​pocket if you buy 3). I ended up paying $ 11 for 2 pockets, the beef and pork.
The beef pocket was a bit heavy on the veggies at first and a little bit greasy towards the end (since I’m guessing they stir fry the ground beef/​veggies in the back). The pork pocket on the other hand is a more stewed soy saucey Asian pork and less greasy. Both have a bit less meat than you think after looking at the pocket, but they’re not underwhelming.
As far as value goes, $ 11 to be satisfied isn’t terrible, especially for a food truck. The food was alright, nothing special although it tastes more authentic Asian. More of a home-​cooked feel than elsewhere.

I give them at 2.5 for their shrimp tacos. They are rather expensive for being mediocre. Two shrimp tacos cost $ 8. I will give them credit for filling them full of shrimp though. I wasn’t really impressed with the test. I didn’t think that the flavors went very well together and there was just nothing special about them. Was a bit disappointed.
I was also a little stressed that the woman making the tacos didn’t properly take care of her hair (hair net, pulled back).

I’m only commenting on the food itself. The service was fine. I’m not exaggerating when I say that this might be the worst sandwich in Seattle. The filling of the chicken sandwich tasted like they had just bought and heated up a self serve package of ‘Chinese’ kung pao chicken from Safeway. And the bread was nothing like a Chinese sandwich of this sort should be like. More like a bagel. We couldn’t finish our sandwiches, and we were hungry. Simply put, these people shouldn’t be serving food.

Nice employees, but the pork pocket was meh. $ 6 was steep for fairly bland fatty meat.

Other reviewers — If you guys haven’t tasted what Roujiamo should taste back in China, then you really should not make any comment on its authenticity.
I was born and raised in China and this Roujiamo was one of my favorite! I have to admit the Mo Pocket guys made some slight changes so it is not tasting exactly the same as the Chinese ones but they taste great! I would definitely drive there and get more if they are closer to where I work.

I really love these and the Mo’s are fantastic fresh and still flavorful (if a bit soggy) when reheated. Be warned the slight crunchiness of the bread is a huge part of the uniqueness of this sandwich which is lost if you don’t eat it soon after buying. I happened upon them at my last office complex and my in-​laws were excited too when I brought them home as it’s the only place we’ve ever seen that offers this type of food in America. But the thing that holds me back from giving the full 5 stars is they ignore their website and social media completely on the only part which matters — the schedule — so there’s now no way anyone can come back for repeat business.

Decently good, I think the best part is the toasted bread but the pork belly while tender could use a bit more sauce. I’d say some toppings too maybe a pickled onion or veggie? Right now it’s just green peppers.

I tried their mo pork and mo beef. Pork is quite authentic and original. Beef is very tender and has more spicy flavor in it. Would definitely recommend the beef. The staff told me that they handmade the bread themselves, the taste is actually better than the original style from Xi’an.

Had a beef mo and a pork mo at the truck in Bellevue today. They were both good (but not amazing).
The pork was much better than the beef, lots of meat, very tender. I would have it again. There was not much meat in the beef, mainy onions. Both of them needed more flavour.
The 25 minute wait was far too long!

3.5 stars. I ordered the Beef Pocket, which was very flavorful but was a little disappointing considering the price. They offered four different types of Pockets — chicken, pork, beef or veggie… one of them being $ 6.
The Beef Pocket contained very thinly sliced beef with peppers, onions, and some jalapeño. The beef was pretty tender, but there was much less than I expected so it really wasn’t too noticeable. Most of the bun was filled with veggies which were crunchy, had a medium spice-​level and packed more flavor than the beef. The bread was crispy around the edges but softer/​fluffier in the middle which was nice. Although a savory sandwich, it could have contained more filling as the serving wasn’t as substantial as I had hoped.

The beef pockets ARE SO GOOD. I get two every time and eat past full because I can’t stop myself. And they are assembled quickly too. This is now my favorite food truck in the Seattle area.

Really nice folks but the food was just okay. The pork belly was cooked really well, but the flavor just wasn’t quite there. It was sort of a one note five spice taste needed some heat and a little sweetness. The pork was great, but it’s soft and could have used a little contrast in texture. The veggie was okay but nothing really grabbed me flavor wise.
The pocket/​bun is okay but sort of dry and doesn’t mix with the juicy filling as much as I would have liked. I was expecting something a little closer to a Peking Duck bun.

Their signature pork pocket is very rich in content! Compare to other places which has only a little meat in it, Mo pocket stuffed the bread with pork and vegetables.
Eat it when it’s still warm!

Wow! It’s yummy!
I got both beef and chicken pockets. The stir-​fried meat and veggies are very well seasoned and marinated. The bread is very good too, it’s a bit crispy outside and soft when you bite down.
Two pockets cost $ 11 and they really make me full! I would totally try something else if available. Hope to see them again!

haven’t had any mo better than this one. Recommend to try ! You can tell they are popular through the waiting line.

Wait was very long around 40 minutes to get a Bao and noodle dish. Also I ordered extra pork for the noodle and was charged for it and never got it in my noodle.
Pork was dry and not seasoned enough. Noodles were nothing to write home about. It’s basic and meh

Never wrote review on Unilocal before but this needed to be stated.
35min wait for a food truck and the food was not as great as expected. The online menu looks way better. I had the bland pork bao and the cold (not cold) sesame noodle salad. Sorry Mo, you have a lot of work ahead of you. I would rather spend my $$ somewhere else. I’ve had way better.

Second try was MUCH better. The sandwiches are still good… in fact, I’d say they are outstanding, both the pork and the beef. The meat is super tender and flavourful and the bread has both a delectable fluffiness and crispiness to it with perfect balance between the two.
Tried the sesame noodles instead of the green onion noodles and I think they still need work. It was more garlic than sesame though the Dan Dan noodle flavour does come through in a hint.
I can sense the effort and the continuing improvement so I look forward to my next return!

It took nearly an hour to get our food. For a food truck, this is simply unacceptable. It appeared to me they were baking the bread in the truck, which would be the only explanation for why it would have taken so long. Cooking meat in a wok doesn’t take this long, nor does cooking noodles.
I had the Beef Mo, which was well-​seasoned but could use a few extra cuts to prevent half of it coming out in one giant bite.
The Green Onion noodles had three small pieces of Bok Choy on top and no green onions. The yakisoba noodles were what I would consider typical of food truck noodles, but a bit more on the bland side.
They were out of edamame, so I got the fruit cup. It was likely the only item that was pre-​made, which was terrible as the melon flavors were soaked into the other bits of fruit (such as the strawberries). As a person who doesn’t really like the flavor of melon, this was a huge disappointment. The berries were overly ripe, almost on the verge of rotten. The grapes and pineapple were good.
Finally, they had three choices of drink: bottled water, Coke, or Diet Coke. Another disappointment.
One of the people that ate with us also received two wrong items on his order. As we were waiting, someone else also had to come back to the truck to get an item they had paid for and didn’t receive.

yeah. Don’t do it. Tasted like Safeway Asian on a bagel.
