After two separate experiences at Potbelly this week, I’m leaving this review Wednesday, I decided to place an online order for a sandwich. It was getting late in the afternoon and I’d barely had a chance to step away from my desk. After getting my confirmation email, I showed up at 1:45pm to get my sandwich. The lady behind the counter asked for my name, put the sandwich in a bag, and I was on my way. I got back to my desk, took a bite out of my sandwich, and… YUCK! It tasted foul. First of all, there were peppers. I hadn’t ordered those. So I took a look at the receipt tag and I had someone else’s sandwich. a sandwich that was meant for someone at 11:30am. UGH. Double whammy. I’ve been to this particular Potbelly a few times, and never had an experience like this. So I went to their website and left feedback, expressing my disappointment. This wasn’t just a simple mistake… they gave me a sandwich that had been sitting on the line for hours. :( It wasn’t more than three minutes after I clicked the Submit button on the feedback form that I had a call back from Joe, the manager of the store. To say that he apologized profusely was an understatement. Joe promised me that this was deeply uncharacteristic for his store, and that he trains his staff diligently to avoid mistakes like this. He promised that he’d investigate further and make sure this didn’t happen to anyone else. Without asking, Joe had also refunded the full price of my order, which was really all I wanted. Then Joe went above and beyond. He asked if I still wanted lunch! He offered to personally make me a sandwich and walk it over to my office. I politely declined… I’d already made myself a humdrum lunch from the office kitchen. Did I want dessert? A shake? Some cookies? Whatever I wanted, it was on him. He offered to walk it over himself, no charge, and said he’d like a chance to apologize face to face. I politely declined again. «No worries,» Joe said. Just stop by the store any time and ask for him. He’d make sure I was taken care of personally. … wow. I’m a big fan of Customer Service and believe strongly in it. After all, that’s why we have Unilocal! But the lengths that Joe went to in order to make sure I was satisfied overwhelmed me. This is clearly a man that cares about his customers. I made it a point of stopping into the store today, less than 24 hours since this happened. Joe remembered me by name, and made it a point of making my sandwich himself. As he was building my lunch, he told me that he’d talked to his employees about the incident, and how to better manage the lunch line. He was beside himself that a sandwich could sit on the line for that long, and made sure to talk to his employees about better ways of doing things to make sure this didn’t happen to anyone else. He apologized again, several times. He introduced me to his staff and talked about how much he works with them to create a positive experience. And when I got my sandwich today, he comp’ed me. I offered to pay, because they’d made the sandwich right. But no. Joe insisted. He shook my hand and said how glad he was to just make things right. If Joe had just refunded my money for the first sandwich, I’d have been content. Now, I’m more than that. I’m a fan. It’s clear that Joe cares about every person that comes into his store, and that he wants them to be happy. So thank you, Joe and the rest of the Bellevue store staff. You guys went above and beyond, and I fully intend to visit your store more often and tell my co-workers and friends how great you are. I wish more businesses treated their customers the way you did.

I had the Uptown salad. It sort of looked like a pre made salad. The chicken is refrigerated. It’s a casual place where you order at the counter. It was pretty tasty but I’m not sure if I would return for that.

In the area and really wanted a sandwich. I also love my sandwiches toasted nice and warm, esp on a rainy day. I scrolled through my handy-dandy Unilocal app… and… Potbelly it was! Reviews do not lie. Potbelly’s housemade hot peppers was the BEST thing on my turkey sandwich! I love love love love love them. If I made sandwiches more often at home, I’d probably buy a jar. I’d go back JUST for the peppers on the sandwich. I mean, really. a turkey sandwich is turkey, cheese, some spread(mayo and dijon mustard), and veggies. These peppers take it to the next level– delightly hot and crunchy, they added pizazz in every bite. I also like that the portion size isn’t crazy. There wasn’t an option for a half sandwich, which had me thinking that I’d be taking half of it back home for a snack later. Nope– either was I super starving or it was the perfect size for me! Which usually means that most people will likely want a side or two with their meal. Pretty chill atmosphere. I was early for the lunch rush; no one greeted me though, which was kinda meh. Love the tall barstools to sit on and the cool décor. Would totally come again. For the hot peppers, obvi.

Place is always good. Lately, however, the sandwiches are dry. Soups are pricey. A «bowl» is just a bit larger than a cup.

I tried the chicken salad sandwich and it was very good. Definitely a hot lunch spot as around noon the line can get pretty long. Not a lot of comfortable seating. No fresh cookies or pastries.

When in doubt, Potbelly has you covered for your sandwich needs. It doesn’t need repeating from other reviews, but their hot peppers are something else. They are just the right mix of spicy, salty, sour, and delicious to add that kick to your sandwich. I like to think of myself as one that tries new foods often, but whenever I come to Potbelly, the irresistible«Wreck» always seems to seduce me. I’ve since almost exclusively ordered that with all the toppings, extra hot peppers, and Jalapeño chips on the side. Lines move very quickly, so don’t be discouraged if the line stretches out the door(a frequent occurrence during lunch rush hour)!

Stopped in for a quick bite and sandwiches were great. Awesome little old school deli with huge flavor and great prices. Will be coming back when we are in the area.

Like all other potbelly locations, this one is wonderful. Great customer service, great prices and amazing food. Hours are a little tough. They’re closed by 7pm, so we’ve never been able to come for dinner.

Brought my family here while on a visit to the area. Sandwiches are great here. We ordered their chicken sandwich with no cheese on wheat bread. The hot peppers I added to my sandwich provided an extra kick to it. The offer pop sodas as well as fountain sodas. Service was a breeze. Their staff is a happy crew at this joint.

UPDATE: 30MINSLATE. Sandwich made wrong(no avocado, no bacon, no xtra turkey, no mustard, forgot my chips, forgot my bottle of water) Spoke to a manager Joe. I appreciate that he will comp my next meal and talk to his staff. Still sucks paying $ 3.00 in extras and not getting them… or my chips… or my water. UPDATE: 20MINSLATE… still no sandwich!!! I have ordered from them 5 times in the last 2 weeks. Of those 5 times they have been late every single time! I place my order online between 9 and 10 am for delivery between 1130 and 1215… plenty of time to get the order and deliver it on time. Management has apologized and comp’d me once, which was nice. However the staff’s sense of urgency with this last delivery(today) is unbelievable! «Hey, so we just looked at the tag and thought it was for pickup, do you still want it?» Yes, I’d still like my lunch even though you’re already 15 minutes late. SOOO annoying that this is the only sandwich place that delivers to our office.

I went here for lunch recently to try out their sandwiches for the first time. The shop is just east of the Purple Café. You can actually park in the Bellevue towers garage, and then have your parking validated with your order. Inside there was quite a strong«Seattle-ish» vibe with all the decorations and the solo musician performing. I ordered the grilled chicken and cheddar sandwich. As the sandwich was getting prepared, the guy there started a conversation with us. He was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. The sandwich itself was pretty good. I finished it up pretty quickly, and ended up wanting to get another one, but decided against it. It’s definitely a decent value for it’s quality. If I’m ever digging sandwiches, I’d probably hit this place up over Jimmy John’s or Subway.

Love this place. Great sandwiches. Good for vegetarians as well. Soup is yummy. They make awesome milkshakes, malts and smoothies. Ingredients are fresh and bread is toasted perfectly. Staff is super outgoing! Love the tiedywd shirts!

Food is always great, but they have managed to mess up my order twice now, and treat me like it was my own fault as I checked out. While in line, I was asked if I wanted a shake or soup with my sandwich. Yes! I said, I would love a cup of chile. «Do you want cheese and onion with your chile?» The salesperson asked. «Yes, sounds great!» I responded. Arriving at the cash register, the clerk did not know I had requested chile. I explained it to him; as my card was being run he turned around and got me the chile sans cheese and onions. :( I asked why I don’t get cheese and onions I had requested, and the clerk explained that those cost extra, and since he had already run my card I was simply out of luck. Not sure why the confusion; why do I have to give my order twice and they still get it wrong? The food is good, but the confusion — especially amidst sensory overload(the environment is noisy and chaotic), I don’t go there often. UPDATE: I’ve been back, and this time when I ordered my chile with my sandwhich, it was waiting for me at the checkout with no confusion. Hopefully they have improved. I will be back.

An extremely tasty sandwich with DELICIOUS hot peppers(warm and flavorful, but not overwhelming). A pretty great bargain for a $ 5 sandwich. The service was alright, one guy was shouting and the other was hard to hear — I felt rushed? Arguably worth the excellent sandwich, but the line stress was noticeable.

I’m a fan of their toasted sandwiches here and that’s pretty much what I order all the time. The price of sandwich is pretty good for a location and the tastes is above the average, especially when compared against other chain sandwich shops in Downtown Bellevue. Unfortunately, they don’t really deliver sandwiches to my office in Bellevue(not too far from this location) during lunch time and I don’t necessary crave for sandwiches for dinner. During weekend, sandwiches comes lower in my craving priorities for eating out. If you work in the Downtown Bellevue area or getting tired of other chain sandwich restaurants, give this place a try and be sure to get them toasted!

I thought this was a solid sandwich place and pretty good for the price. The sandwiches are a little small but they’re fairly cheap for the area(around 5 bucks) It’s like a slightly better Quiznos and it seemed like the ingredients were a bit better. I tried the grilled chicken and got hot peppers, italian seasoning, lettuce and tomatoes on it. Pretty tasty.

Upon coming here from LA and arriving on a weekend, it was a little difficult for me to find this place. This place is located on the bottle of a corporate like building. Parking structure seems to be closed on weekends. At least theres was a B of A parking lot as well as street parking and a CPK lot parking one block away.(Oh, I and think I saw a farmers market up the street while waiting). I always appreciate a well made sandwich and Potbelly doesn’t disappoint. Ordered the A Wreck(salami, turkey, ham, roast beef, and swiss are all the cuts I like) and the Roast beef with a shake. I do like the A Wreck but I couldn’t really taste each and every sice of the meat. And if you want the know or in this case… you might not want to know the nutritional value as well as the sodium of this sandwich, you can click the link here. Prices are decent but they are exactly what you paid for. Food is tasty, reminds me a little like Quiznos. However, portion sizes are a tad on the small size. Maybe I am used to just larger size Banh Mi and Togo’s Sandwiches down here in LA. So come here to try something slightly different but not mindblowing. Great for quick lunch.

Ughhh, I was so excited when they opened since it brought a bit of Midwestern memories back for me(they have lots of locations in Chicago where I grew up and went to school). I happily went to this location once or twice a week when I worked in downtown Bellevue when they opened but after heading to this location the last two previous weekends not making that mistake again :( Their quality/quantity unfortunately has gone down. The sandwiches seem skimpier for ingredients and the soup was so salty the last time I picked it up. The last time we went was the worst where they were inefficiently staffed and I was stuck waiting for six minutes at the register just to check out while the sandwiches got cold since the cashier was making shakes for a customer inline two spots behind me…(Their sandwiches don’t taste great when they are cold which they were very by the time we got home). Heading to Jimmy Johns from now on!

Part of my BEST series… LOVE the malts here!!! Best by far from all the malts I’ve tried in the area. These actually have a malty flavor and don’t seem like pure sugar with a whopper mixed in. They’re thick, creamy, sweet, and oh-so-malty! YUM!!! I’ve only had the chocolate malts here, so I can’t really speak to the others but I haven’t had the desire to try any of the others either because the chocolate malt is AMAZING! I also like how you get a little cookie on the straw with the malts(although, after being to a different location recently for a malt fix they didn’t do the cookie so I wonder if the chain stopped doing that or if it is only the Bellevue location — personally, I’m a fan of the little cookie!). This is a seriously yummy dessert after a good sandwich. Well done, Potbelly!
