Very clean coffee (gear) shop. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable (especially compared to the typical store rep who is there to sell X Product). which is a big plus if you are seriously thinking about taking your coffee game to the next level. They have a large variety of products and different price points, so if you’re like me and a $ 2,000 espresso machine is just not in your budget, do not feel intimidated. Although if you are in the market for $ 2,000+ espresso machine they have several to choose from (and demo).
I did notice that prices here are a tad bit higher than other stores IF it happens to be the exact same product, but for the most part they stay competitive, and a lot of things here are not available at stores like Crate, Bed Bath, Williams and Sonoma, etc. This is truly a Coffee Gear shop, so it’s pretty cool. Very cool. My only complaint would really be the really poorly designed parking lot. I know Seattle Coffee Gear does not own the building, but the parking lot still sucks. Anyway great place to hit up. Now if only I could learn how to do microfoam.

I wish I had better things to say. I’ve never been to the store since I live out of state, but I’ve not had good experiences with returns, exchanges, or warranty issues from afar. Believe my experience would be much better if I could take it to the store. I’ve had issues with non responses, delayed replies (waiting to hear back about a return for 2 weeks when I need to return within 30 days), and paying an arm and a leg to use the extended warranty I PURCHASED ($ 80 to shop the damn machine back for work)
I recommend for smaller purchases if you’re out of state, but not machines u less you 100% know what you want and won’t need to do exchanges.

Well here is an update, my coffee maker still has issues after they «fixed it» and when I asked if I could trade it in on a new model they said no. So I bought a brand new coffee maker from Costco and spent my money elsewhere. These folks at Seattle coffee gear seemed to miss the customer services part of sales.

I drove up to Bellevue from Tacoma to get my old Saeco repaired. For starters, having a shop open on Sunday is a huge help when having to travel from Tacoma! Harold, the repair tech, got to my machine quickly and, while getting it to make coffee again, counseled me against paying to have it serviced. Harold said that he got my machine running again but, after 15 years, it was time to consider a replacement. I was very surprised to find SCG did not charge for the inspection or for getting it working again.
When I picked up my Saeco, I was helped by Andrea. What a nice and knowledgeable person! She answered all of my questions, gave me some great information on selecting coffee beans and then gave me a great deal on some equipment. Getting service like this made the trip to Bellevue well worth while and made me a fan and new customer of Seattle Coffee Gear! Thanks for taking the time to help me!

This place is fantastic! We stopped in to grab some syrup and walked out with a SCG membership, some beans, a chocolate bar, as well as two bottles of syrup. The guy behind the counter was friendly, funny, and welcoming. We talked beans and he gave us a quick rundown of the local roasters, what he liked, and what he recommended based on our likes/​dislikes. Overall a great experience and I look forward to getting all of my coffee products from this location.

Great store, and prices are competitive. In store technical support (repairs and maintenance) was a deciding factor to buy from SCG. Their extended warranty for free! is awesome.
CON:
Grouchy salesperson, makes customers feel like they’re bothered to explain features.

I took my Saeco Xelsis fully automatic machine in to get serviced. It was making bitter espresso shots. I had already called Saeco and tried all of their recommendations (new beans, descale, adjust the machine settings, etc.). The next step was to take it in and have a technician evaluate it. I bought it at Costco, but didn’t want to return it because I wanted it to work (I want my espresso!). I explained to Harold, the repair guy, what was happening. He straight up told me to take it back to Costco; he couldn’t do much for my machine without it being super expensive. I really appreciated his honesty and insight. He even carried it back out to my car for me! Any repairs on my next espresso machine will definitely be done by Harold. It was an awesome experience. Thanks, Harold!

I went in here to look at some high end espresso machines and grinders. Everyone was so nice and helpful. They let me turn on a machine i wanted to try (LM GS3) and while that was warming up i made a cappuccino on a Rocket Giotto. The milk steaming was much better on that machine than on my expobar brewtus IV duel boiler!
I was also looking for a new grinder. They didn’t have the one i wanted in stock, but they did have a demo. I asked if it was for sale and one of the salespeople said they don’t usually sell their demo, but since it would be a while till this particular grinder (mini Mazzer) would be back in stock they would look into it. After a quick phone call, it was mine!!! and for 5% off!
They did a great job, I would recommend going down there if you are looking into anything coffee and want to try stuff out or need tech info.

Walked in to do a demo of the Breville Oracle up close and personal. Worked with Kevin, and was really happy with the no pressure enthusiast approach to talking about the merits of the machine. I am coming from a Saeco superautomatic, and it was just not quite cutting it. Originally I was going to spend the same amount of $ on a top of the line Saeco, but once we saw the Oracle I was sold. Kevin did a great job of explaining the details of the machine, but in a non-​salesman sort of way. By showing how the machine functions, and demonstrating the features in relation to what I was accustomed, I was sold on Seattle Coffee Gear immediately. Ended up purchasing the Oracle at the Seattle location, but I would happily return here if I find myself on the Eastside again.

This is the place to go if you are truly serious about making coffee at home
The difference is their service. They know coffee, they know their products and they take care of their customers
Ask for Andrea. She really knows coffee and sold me the perfect espresso machine for us. We are super happy with the choice and with the follow up service. Don’t save a couple of bucks and buy on Amazon.

RUN — Quickly RUN from Seattle Coffee Gear. I purchase a Baby Saeco Coffee Machine (i’ve had two Seaco’s before over the past 10+ years and they have lasted beautifully) but this little baby Saeco (I purchase due to moving and the cabinet hight would not handle the bigger Saeco). I purchase also a two year warranty. Seattle Coffee Gear never explained that the 1^st year of the purchased warranty was covered by Seaco. When calling customer service to ask for help w/​the machine which is simply a lemon they were of no assistance. I wanted to simply exchange the machine for another and Seattle Coffee Gear refused. Do not expect help, customer service, ability to return any machine! You will be stuck w/​a bad machine if you make a choice or like me simply get a lemon. Go to Bed Bath and Beyond, Macy’s or somewhere where they have learned me meaning of customer service! This place is simply awful.

My office recently bought a Rocket for the kitchen and it was working great the first week! Unfortunately, week two the machine started malfunctioning. I brought it back into the shop and spoke with Harold. He checked my machine in the day before Christmas eve for repair. He informed me that they were super busy but he’d try to get it back in our hands ASAP. I get a call on Friday after Christmas that the repair was complete and the machine was working great! Super fast service and very pleasant to deal with!

My workplace recently purchased an espresso machine online from Seattle Coffee Gear that came with 2 year warranty. The day we took the machine out of the box to use it for the first time it started spewing water everywhere. We hauled the clunker over to the store so their technician could fix it. After giving me some BS, they realized that the machine was under warranty and they had to fix it immediately. The next day we picked up the machine and it started spewing water AGAIN! So for a second time, I had to drive it back to store so their technician could fix it again. After looking at it again, the technician finally says it’s for sure fixed this time. So we take it back and this time the machine wont even grind up our beans properly to make any coffee or espresso! I’ve had to drop this machine off 3 times now and I still havent heard back from them to know if they can fix it or not! I’m SO IRRITATED with them, I dont even feel like calling them at this point. Hopefully they can just give us our money back!

Wow, so happy with Seattle Coffee Gear. And I’m not even a paying customer!
I took my Krups machine to get serviced, and the tech explained to me that, unfortunately, they don’t service Krups. Apparently they’re just nearly impossible to fix. He did offer to descale it for free anyway, and after an hour, I got an apologetic voicemail explaining that the machine wasn’t doing any better. (He did explain what the problem likely was, but that doesn’t mean it was fixable.)
Turns out they’ll actually recycle used machines for no cost. So instead of going back to the shop to pick up my useless machine, I never have to see it again, and never had to pay a dime. Customer service like that is what earns repeat business!

I bought my latest, high end espresso machine at Seattle Coffee Gear after buyng espresso machine after espresso machine at other establishments that would last 1 – 2 years. I’ve had it for a year and it is still going strong. I love my machine and feel that if I run into a mechanical problem, they will be able to fix it as good as new.
I find two coffee beans to be the best for my latte and americano:
* Batdorf and Bronson’s Dancing Goats
* Velton’s Bonsai Blend
While Seattle Coffee Gear does not offer Dancing Goats, they regularly have Bonsai Blend in stock and, occasionally, you can even find it at a discount. I frequently purchase Bonsai Blend at the same time as I am scooping up the sugar free vanilla and hazelnut Monin syrup. The best tasting sugar free you can buy!

Great place! Have ordered a number of items while living out of state, and have always had a great experience.
They recently opened this store, and I did get a bit of a runaround after seeking help finding coffee accessories, but it’s great to have a local store as opposed to having to drive all the way to Lynwood.

This place is aWeSome!!! First of all you would not think it would be so hard to find a store that gears toward higher end Espresso machines /​Super-​automatics for the home/​small office in The Greater seattle area… BUT it is! I assume most business is done online for these type of specialty items.
I was watching some SUPER HelpfulTutorials on Youtube and realized they had a brick and Mortar store. So, i figured I would give them a call since they specialize in Saeco repair & sales. I called the store to find out some information on a Saeco Magic I was planning on purchasing from Craiglist. It is an older model & I had some concerns so I called the store to ask a few questions to the experts. The sales associate Chris was so GREAT he said, «Hey, after you buy it bring it down!- we will check it out for you, i will let Brian know!!» So I purchased it & trucked my way to Bellevue from Tacoma.
I am so glad I took the time to go to this store. Brian went over all the functions with me, ran the grinder, showed me how to care for the machine, how to dump grinds, ran espresso clean the grinder & even gave me a tube of food grade grease to lube it back up! As a first time Espresso machine owner I was so happy with the time he took to do a complete overview to an item I did not even purchase there! I ended up purchasing coffee beans, frothing pitcher, new filter, and descaler. I cleaned it VERY thoroughly, descaled, and it is working as PERFECT as new! I have made 5 cups of the HOttest, FOAMIEST, most delicious Cappuccino I have ever had, all made by ME! I found my INNER barista. And I am damn good at it… a Natural!
The store is very accessible from the highway, plenty of parking and WOW! there selection of machine is KILLLLLLLER!
Whoa, They have some amazing machines. The price ranges vary from $ 249 for a Refurb. Saeco Vienna (GREAT PRICE BTW) to over $ 3,000++++ Their prices are very on par with Amazon or any online retailer.
They have great coffee bean selection, not overwhelmingly huge but some good choice brands to try! I like this approach better as you are not I bought the Lavazza Qualita Oro. I am REALLY enjoying it. Very nice Arabica (which i love and am partial too) I am researching more I can use in my machine.
overall, Service was ABOVE AND BEYOND! The machine they have are TOP NOTCH. I am very confident I will shop with them again. Via online or in person.
