I have been here for a couple of times since the last 4 months for Ironing my hair and coloring. I have always been completely satisfied with the services. Their prices are affordable and the staffs are very friendly. You do get special discounts at times if you are a frequent visitor. So why not get things done a reasonable price while also getting a good service.

I saw Winnie a couple of times and I was really dissatisfied with her service. First time she was recommended by my friend and she cut my hair unevenly. I thought she was nice but made me feel uncomfortable because she kept commenting on my thin hair. She wanted to me to use all the products in her store but I declined since I already have enough products at home and I was seeing a doctor. The second time I saw her, she was 15 minutes late and she didn’t wash my hair. Again she commented on my thin hair. Would not ever go back there again and would not recommend this place.

Winnie gave me a great haircut! She listened to what I asked for and then made the necessary adjustments to make it flattering. I am a previous Seven salon client, and this is a much better haircut. Will definitely go back to this salon!

A hair provider who listens! This is rare for some reason. A great experience with a friendly hair cutter. Highly recommended, especially if you’re tired of the pretentiousness of downtown Bellevue cutters.

Stumbled into this salon with a groupon. Winnie had me at the first cut. What started as a discounted cut turned into another cut and some more color. She knows how to turn your vague request into what you were looking for!
Also very convenient with my schedule that she can see me later afternoons on the weekdays.

I and my husband have been having haircuts here for the last two years and we enjoy getting haircuts here. The ambience is calm and relaxing, getting appointments is easy and both the hairdressers give great haircuts. I have had them style my hair when it was long and short and have loved their work.

I needed my hair cut on the weekend and Kelly was able to take me in as a walk in. I needed a simple hair cut with layers and framing and Kelly did a great job at it.

Let me just say that first and foremost that I am a straight guy who loves, admire, and respect female’s fashion, make-​ups, hairs, etc and can appreciate the beauty of it all.
At any rate, my wife had recently stopped by Signature Hair for the first time to get it highlighted by Winnie. Now mind you, she gets this done every single year (from another salon) for nearly a decade at about the same time in May-​but this time was different. When my wife arrived home, I initially noticed that her hair wasn’t done. Here’s how the conversation went: Rated R for Ratchet languages and Realism.
«Hey wife, I thought you were getting your hair done today»
«I already did babe, it’s a bit subtle, you gotta see it under certain lighting»
(Meticulously checks her hair in the bathroom lighting).
«What the fuck baby. How’d you managed to go in for some highlights and came back with some half ass work. It’s not even blonde, its like an orange blob defecated on your head and its splashed lazily scattered all over… Looks like homegirl botched it up with some incompetent work.»
«Yeah, It wasn’t to my liking and I was not happy with the first results so she attempted to fix it with what I believe, high concentrated product, nearly burned off my hair. I felt as if she was looking for a quick fix and rushed her work only to conclude that it was too damaged to get the result that I wanted»
«I call bullshit babe. The structural integrity of your hair appears perfectly fine and healthy before you went in nor were your hair ever over-processed.She probably used too potent of a peroxide/​bleach mixture and damaged it, talking bout she’s wasn’t able to continue any further… With that type of laziness work, I could have did it for you at home… I told you to hit up the the homegirl Hue at Uptight, she’s been doing your hair for years and there were NEVER any problem.»
It’s true. My wife have been going to Uptight since her high school days and every single time she returns home from that salon, she would look damn sexy (totally not saying she’s not beautiful the rest of the times cause she’s certainly is).
So a few days have passed since visiting Signature. I received a text:
3:32 PM «Hey husband. My hair looks like crap. Its turning darker with mixtures of orange/​green now. There are barely any highlights»
3:36 PM «Baby, I told you about these uppity ass places. I think you should immediately return to Uptight to get it fix and I guarantee you, it’ll look a whole lot better.».
And so she did…
8:44 PM «Hey husband, just got home. I love my hair. It looks so much better. Cant wait for you to see it!!!»
And I’ve guessed it. Upon returning home with no special lighting needed, seen the re-​worked of my wife’s hair and I was diggin it… Her hair was NOT heavily damaged like Winnie had instructed… After 3 hours, my wife’s hair was resuscitated by Hue at Uptight and it is now highlighted THE WAY SHE WANTED IT.
See now, I am in no way trying to name call or promote Uptight but it just so happens with a huge coincidence, that Winnie used to work at Uptight Salon. With that being said, I can give a fuck less about both places. Hair salons are ubiquitous homie, we’re not sweating off nothin. Wife and I just so happens to like Hue’s service and work so therefore, I’m just like the referee, calling it how I see it baby. Had it not been for the «gift card» she received for her birthday from co-​workers, I highly doubt Signature would have been her first option.
Winnie, I know that you will be reading this and will be making excuses for your work, but as a professional, shouldn’t you be able to assess and detect hair damages prior to working on it?.. If my wife’s hair was indeed too «damaged», how did Hue at Uptight managed to fix your mistakes and was able to get her hair the way she wanted it?.. Did you apply high concentration of bleach as opposed to the low and slow method therefore exacerbating the damages to her hair?.. And what I also failed to comprehend was that if her hair was too damaged and you did a 50% job on it, why not charged her 50% as opposed to the full 100% as if you completed the job…50% job for a 100% price is just unacceptable, unprofessional, and just plain olé bad practice… Nonetheless, in your line of business, you only have one opportunity to make a solid first impression and your first impression produced a half ass, watered down, bare minimum work. Sorry, but my wife will NOT be returning to your establishment obviously. And by the way, your comment regarding a more enhance toned of bleach on my wife hair her would look «Too Mexican and unprofessional» was totally uncalled for. Tsk Tsk.
This review was co-​signed by the wife for it is my duty as her spouse to NEVER LET NOTHING SLIDE when an action affects either of us in some type of way. And if I may add, some of the reviews on here are pretty suspect homie.

Stylists Kelly and Winnie took ownership and management of Signature Hair design in late 2013. My husband and I had been getting our hair cut by Kelly for years at another salon and followed her when she opened her own shop. Kelly gives good modern men’s cuts. Winnie does a great job on women’s hair. I like that I don’t have to describe my desired cut in detail. Winnie just knows how to make my hair look good without me spending hours in the chair. Both ladies are really personable. Quick service and fairly priced. Make an appointment if you go on the weekend. As with all salon, they’re pretty busy Saturdays and Sundays.

Winnie is just awesome! I took a Groupon coupon called them for the appointment. After seeing all the Unilocal reviews and Winnie putting her effort in replying and messaging the customers, I thought I’ll give it a try. I have medium long, thick curly hair and I wanted to get it short till the shoulders. Before going here, I tried jean Juarez but I didn’t like it, in fact my husband told me he didn’t see any change at all after the hair cut. As I have the curly hair, I asked Winnie to not cut more short as it would curl up naturally, and she did a fabulous job. After my first shampoo wash, I felt it’s little long and called her (she gave me her mobile number, which is nicer) for her appointment to get my hair little shorter. She gave me appointment on the same day. She spent about an hour to make my hair cut look beautiful and didn’t charge a penny. She is really good at what she does and is very nice.

I really like getting my hair done here. Winnie is really good with cutting and coloring. She always makes me very happy with my hair and I always get the style and color I want regardless of what color. Space is clean and open. Great environment and staff. Give it a try for a happy experience.

Updating my review due to lies told by Winnie’s reply and I definitely do not appreciate the false statements. She never offered to wash my hair, and I should have said something before she started cutting. I believe since she was short on time due to poor time management skills, she purposely skipped on washing my hair. True that I was running late to my appointment but I called prior to let them know. Winnie then asked if it was okay she worked on someone else’s hair which I said it was fine. Winnie was styling someone else’s hair when I arrived, so I was talking to the brow beautician for ONE minute while she styled someone else’s hair, which did not affect my appointment. As a business owner, it’s very risky to put false statements on Unilocal.I will never return after Winnie’s reply. For shame!

Come here! New to town and I discovered this place via groupon and Unilocal.I have long blonde hair and am terrified of going to a new salon but was very pleased with this spot. Kelly did my hair and she was great! She didn’t scare me like some stylists have in the past as in– she communicated to me everything she was going to do before she did it and I appreciated that. They’re super friendly and welcoming here. And I need some highlights touch-​ups so I’ll likely be coming back for those.

I’ve been following Winnie from her previous salon to her new salon. She’s awesome, funny, and most importantly, she’s good at what she does! I have thick hair and it’s so hard to find a good stylist that can cut my hair the way I want it. I’ve tried multiple hair salons including Seven and Gene Juarez Salon & Spa and none of them makes me feel satisfy. I’ve introduced my family and friends to get their hair cut with her and they all told me positive feedbacks. I highly recommend her to anyone wants to get a stylish haircut or color!

Kelly is a great hair stylist! Very hospitable and really listens to your needs and provides recommendations too. Every time she does my hair, it turns out exactly the way I want it – or better! This includes cut, color and highlights. She is the type of stylist that wants you to be happy – and to look good– and puts in the time and effort to do just that!

I was wondering why this salon has such low rating. It was because it was under different management. I came here for a haircut and I left with a new style and a big smile. Winnie was my stylist. I think that the quality of workmanship was top notch. She crafted my hair with passion and showed me that I can trust her. I have been to many salons, including Seven, Gene Juarez, and Napolitano. They were good but I always feel like it cost me an arm and a leg for the haircut. With Winnie I did not feel rush. She took her time and listens to what I wanted. I will definitely come back.

I’ve been getting great haircuts from Kelly in Seattle for over 3 years now… She is now the owner of Signature Hair design in Bellevue. I highly recommend this salon, even for men’s haircuts. its a fraction of the cost compared to other salons in Bellevue and you will be very happy with the experience.

This store have changed the new owner, she’s Kelly, a really beautiful and kind person. I was surprised after i have a hair cut here. Good price, good service. Strongly recommend !

Received a voucher from a friend from living social for pravana hair smoothing for long hair. Called to make an appt and they wanted to charge another $ 50 for long and thick hair which that was never stated in the fine print at all. Friend talked to Summer and she said that living social must of misprinted it and she would not honor the voucher. Next time they have a deal they should make sure they put detailed information in the fine print.
