The Solomike Early Childhood Center preschool program is a drop-off, multi-age enrichment program for children 2.5−5 years old. We offer a play-based learning environment, designed to allow children to learn about themselves, the world around them, and the richness of Jewish life.
Our curriculum is based on Middot and Mitzot: Teaching Jewish Values. We believe Judaism should be an organic part of a child’s life. Jewish tradition and teachings guide our program, which is infused with Torah, Jewish prayers, stories, and songs. We are shaped by the Jewish calendar, celebrating Jewish holidays in our classroom and with our TBT community.
Our program also includes art, play, movement, nature study, preparing for academic success, social skills, and much more! We have a beautiful new playground, focusing on nature as a teaching tool.
Our preschool is open to all. Families from every aspect of Jewish life are welcome and encouraged to join us. Interfaith families welcome. Temple B’nai Torah membership is encouraged, but not required.
We offer multiple options for enrollment in our program. Class meets Monday-Friday 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. We follow the Bellevue School District calendar, with some additional closures for Jewish holidays.
5 day option: Monday-Friday enrollment
3 day option: Monday, Wednesday, Friday enrollment
2 day option: Tuesday, Thursday enrollment
Please see pricing and registration at TempleB’naiTorah.org/SECC. Scholarships are available.
History
Established in 2010.
In 2009, Temple B’nai Torah saw the unexpected passing of Mike «Solomike» Negrin, a beloved and committed member of our community. Mike generously left Temple B’nai Torah a bequest to strengthen our Temple in the future — a fund dedicated to the establishment of an early childhood center. Through this fund, we hope to engage new families and children in Jewish communal life through a rewarding and enriching educational program.
