The ReDress Shop

I took in about 20 items to consign. Mostly from Nordstrom, Macy’s, Banana, White House Black Market, and a couple of things from specialty boutiques. A few of the items were brand new with tags. The lady looked through them while I browsed the store. After about 15 minutes she told me that it wouldn’t work for them because the brands were not recognizable. What? As I was looking through the inventory they had, I noticed all the same brands already on their racks.
Her attitude was so condescending that I will never step foot in that store again.
And for the record, their inventory was horrible. And the quality of some of the items were so bad that I would expect them to be at goodwill.
Maybe if you are 50+ you will have better luck.

I am puzzled by the negative reviews. I’ve never had anyone be rude or condescending to me here. They compliment me often on what I’ve selected. And they are always helpful and friendly. I’ve also consigned here for many years and always had excellent results. I believe they are selective because they have a lot of people wanting to consign — and their space is limited. Plus they know what their customers will buy. Personally, I appreciate they are discerning about what they take because it gives me a better selection when I’m shopping. I bought a wonderful Coach purse here for a fraction of what I would have paid in a retail store. And many fabulous quality garments! And I don’t take it personally when they don’t want something I bring in — I trust they know their business and understand what will sell in their store. So what they don’t take, I happily donate to others — and everybody wins.

I will never shop here again after what I witnessed. While we were shopping a heavy set woman came in wanting to sell some clothes on consignment. The clerk was incredibly rude to her. She let her know that not only would they not be interested in her plus size garments but that she was sure no store in Bellevue would consider them either. She said she had heard there was a store in Seattle that would but she didn’t know anything about it. The words were not as objectionable as the tone she used while saying them. She acted like the clothes were diseased and that the woman had offended her for thinking they would stoop to carrying plus size garments. I will say the selection in this store is fine but after seeing a potential customer destroyed in that manner I would recommend steering clear.

Last week I was unexpectedly in the strip mall this store is located in. I walked in excited to see items available.
The first thing I heard was, «I’m about ready to close.» Not, «Hi, welcome. FYI, I’ll be closing in a few minutes (or various).»
Obviously more interested in getting out of the store than gaining a new customer. I’ll not return.
Merchandise was well displayed and looked inviting… sorry. Attitude is everything.

The selection is poor, nothing stylish or trendy. Also the woman who takes consignments is dreadfully condescending, as if her store were too good for your clothes. The selection is like what you would find at nonprofit stores that charge ¹⁄₁₀ as much.

Not worth the time. The clothes weren’t very good and the customer service was worse than the clothes.

Voted best? Yeah right I vote not. Absolutely would never recommend somebody to go there and go through what we went through! WORST customer service ever. The lady working there needs to learn her manners if she wants to stay in business.

Nice selection, but very poor customer service if you’re consigning clothes. I understand that they know their clientele, and what their clientele will buy, and I“m OK with that. The woman who makes the choices is very condescending, though, and after about my fourth time consigning here, I decided it wasn’t worth the mistreatment. We live in a culture that expects Nordstrom customer service, or least common courtesy, and I have never gotten this here when consigning.
Now I donate my clothes to the business clothing bank at the local battered women’s shelter. They appreciate it, I feel good about it, and truthfully, the tax deduction is pretty close to what I ended up pocketing from consigning at ReDress.

I LOVE this store! I’ve been consigning and shopping there since the mid-80’s when they were located in Lake Hills. They’re now in the Safeway strip mall on 140^th. Go often, as the merchandise changes constantly. This is a clean, organized store with excellent clothing and accessories and a really great staff! I agree with MOST of what Leni said… however, I do feel women in the 20s-​30s can find plenty of age-​appropriate items. There are always lots of great jeans, plenty of exercise/​activewear, etc. I was there two days ago and there were tons of great purses and belts as well. Probably not much there for teens (they should go to Plato’s Closet up the street in Ross Plaza). Redress is a ‘must go’ for women (and men who like women’s clothing) and you get top dollar for the things you consign.

This is a great consignment store, that I was happy to find. (Why no reviews?) I wouldn’t go to Bellevue just for it, but when you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and go visit it. The clothes are definitely on the dressier side, meant for women of 40 and over, but there are plenty of career clothes for younger women, and also a few cute and casual basics for anyone. The store is well organized and a pleasure to browse, with plenty of space; it smells and looks clean, everything looks in very good condition. The prices are very reasonable; I bought 2 cotton and silk knit tops (very soft and pretty, basic but dressy) for $ 28 — better, they were 50% off and I only paid $ 14! There were quite a few shoes, but not many handbags. The staff was this nice little old lady that had never heard of Unilocal before; the owner wasn’t there so she couldn’t allow me to take any pictures inside, which was understandable. Oh, my favorite (and most unexpected) item: a very sexy pair of leather pants. (Too bad they didn’t fit!) So you never know what you might find.
