I’ve been through the home buying process twice and refi process twice. All four were done with different brokers and banks. Of the four though, working with TILA Mortgage was by far the best experience. Gene Shin who was my main contact and Jeff Amira who was his colleague were there for me every step of the way. They were quick to respond to any questions I had and the entire process took about 4 weeks which to me was pretty fast considering the refi I did a couple years ago took almost 12 weeks. I highly recommend working with Gene and Jeff at TILA Mortgage in Bellevue!

We had a terrible time with Tila Mortgage a couple years ago. We had a 3% rate on a 15 year loan locked in but then Tila Mortgage in Renton lost their lender. Did they tell us that they lost their lender? NO. We didn’t get an answer from our rep so we went to the VP who is the owners kid. He was full of BS so we went to the owner. After numerous phone calls the owner finally had the balls to call me back and explain that they had lost their lender. Awful way to do business. There are way too many mortgage companies out there. Aviod these guys. Yes, I’m still ticked offed even after two years!

This place is one star for a reason. The agent who I spoke with tried to pounce on my ignorance as being a first time home owner. He asked the wrong questions to determine how qualified I was for the loan, and made a cookie cutter loan (according to a senior underwriter from another company) sound like it would be impossible to complete. I would recommend staying away from these guys and working with a group that has an A plus record with the BBB such as Sammamish Mortgage.

TILA Mortgage is simply a good ‘olé boy type of mortgage broker. They say slap shot negatives about their competition. They threatened legal action about others who posted ‘opinions’ on Unilocal. What are they afraid of? That others will actually read Unilocal and choose another mortgage broker? They should be… yuck oh!!! Remember their advertising that promises truth in lending is paid for by the people who ‘get’ their loans from them in much much higher fees!
Make sure you are aware that you cannot ‘get’ a better loan before you commit to these goof balls!

Go with another company! We started working with TILA Mortgage in November and were promised an interest rate that we considered to be very good. We thought the fees were quite high, but were lured by the low rate. At the very end of a GRUELING process consisting of horrible communication and unfulfilled promises we were informed TILAs lender had its credit lines froze, so they would be unable to close our loan. We ended up going with another local mortgage company. We went with Kiel Mortgage, they were very professional and their communication was exceptional. Additionally, they saved us $ 2600 and matched the interest rate that TILA originally promised us. Avoid TILA Mortgage at all costs they are BAD NEWS!!!
