Came here with our kids and had a great dinner. They were very busy(it was Friday night) and the older woman working the front was very apologetic and said it may be a bit of a wait, but we didn’t end up waiting longer than 10 minutes. All of the staff was friendly and attentive, especially with our kids :) Our kids loved the kids bento box meals and strawberry soda. We started with the spicy octopus carpaccio which was delicious(and not too spicy) and had an assortment of their special rolls and they were all amazing! The Tiger Eye and Volcano rolls were my favorite. The only thing keeping it from five stars was the nigiri. I had the red snapper and it was nearly flavorless, with a slight frozen taste. We will definitely be back for the rolls though! They did not disappoint!

From the exterior, you might not think it’s much, but it’s quite nice inside. The sushi is great here! Service has always been quick and friendly. I love sitting at the bar and I love their food. Today I had the«Sushi B» lunch. Love this neighborhood place!

I still give the FOOD here 4 stars. But may I comment on the service? The servers/employees are pleasant and helpful. There are no issues with them. But the owner lady… she MUST be the owner because she mostly sits in the back of the restaurant and plays games on her mobile or the like. I guess it doesn’t directly affect my dining experience there. However, there is something about non-engaging owners/proprietors(in the service industry). Tonight though, she decided to actually help out by taking an order at a table. The table was right behind ours. It was several feet away from the sushi bar/chefs. The entire time, she kept yelling over to the kitchen to see if they had«tuna,» «albacore,» or whatever else the patrons were inquiring about. It was… unclassy. The place already feels somehwat unclassy being in the strip mall and all. But to top that off with«the yell-out of the orders to the sushi chefs» just sealed the deal. I am still returning, because again the food is good. But I secretly hope that the owner reads this posting(after all, she’s on her phone all the time) and makes an attempt to modify her behavior. Set a good example to your employees if nothing else.

I came here for dinner tonight to avoid sitting in traffic and have been wanting to check this restaurant out for some time now. My parents are Nihonjins(if you don’t know what that is, then I suggest you google it) and are always wanting authentic Japanese food when they are visiting me. This place is the real deal! Sushi made by authentic Japanese sushi chefs(I know this because I also understand Japanese and was listening to some of their conversation — they were talking about the Hawks game). I ordered a sushi and sashimi combo and the fish was so fresh and cut so perfectly. I’ll definitely be back for more sushi and to try the Nabeyaki Udon. I’ll also be bringing my parents when they visit next month! Tabemono wa hontoni oishikattadesu!

Bad experience with this place. Food not really fresh! When you plan to bring your kid watch out for that«old lady«with no respect with kids! She will set u at the back near the restroom even they had the open table. I will not recommend anyone go there unless u don’t know Japanese food well !!!

I decided to eat out and have a non-traditional Christmas dinner. Doing the Jewish Christmas dinner was out since a) I’m not Jewish and b) all the good Chinese restaurants were full. I didn’t want to go to any of the junk food places since nothing sounded good. We were driving by the strip mall at Kelsey Creek and saw that the Tuna House was open. As expected only a few people were in the place which made it great and we were seated quickly. Our server was very attentive and brought our tea to us quickly. We decided to go with sushi and had had king crab, tuna, yellow tail and flying fish eggs. The fish was very fresh. The rice was excellent making each bite a pleasure. Their prices are a little high for the location, especially since they are in the same strip mall as Wal-Mart. Other than that, I highly recommend this restaurant!

My first time here today. I was craving for sushi since I woke up(on a Monday, strange right?) However, I just want to try something new. I looked up on Unilocal, and Tuna House popped up for one of my top local sushi places. I have always been wanting to try this place, but I usually ended up at Kukai Ramen in the same plaza. So, today was a good chance to try the Tuna House. I went at the half hour before the store close for lunch break(1pm) so the restaurant was sorta empty. There were only about 3 tables seating. I was greeted right away, and got taken to seat the the bar. I asked for cup of tea and glass of water. Guess what? I’m a big fan of green tea. I order green tea at every Japanese restaurant I go. And one thing I can say for sure is that Tuna House has really great green tea. Nice flavor and smell of tea leaves. The chef and staff were friendly, which helped my ordering much easier. I ordered myself a Chirashi Bowl(The one I took the picture). It came with Miso Soup and cucumber salad as appetizers I guess. The cucumbers were okay. Not a big fan of the flavor. The soup was above average, but not too amazing. I did enjoy it regardless. The Chirashi Bowl took about 5 minutes wait for me because I was the only one who was waiting for the food. So, I can’t tell how long it would be if you go at busy time. Their Chirashi bowl is pretty unique. It’s a bowl of rice underneath assortments of fishes(Tuna, Albacore, Salmon, Octopus, etc. I believe there were various types of Tunas on it). I enjoyed this meal a lot. I thought I wasn’t going to get full out of it, but I was at my happy spot once I finished my meal. I mean $ 15 dollars? I think that’s a decent price for this amount! All the fishes are fresh, taste great and nicely cut. The rice also had delicious sour flavor that was enjoyable even if it was eaten plain. One thing that I wish could be improved was their Wasabi; it wasn’t as spicy as some other places. I asked for extra Wasabi and put 2 big chunks in there… But yeah, I’m a Wasabi Lover. I don’t know. Overall, it was a really satisfying meal. I was happy with their foods, service and the restaurant’s decorations. I was also happy because they were Japanese haha, hard to find now a day right? So, yeah, I will definitely go back! A lot more things i want to try including all their rows and beer :)

OMG this place was GREAT. We came for dinner at 6:30 on a drizzly Saturday and were seated right away. I had the Rainbow roll, husband had the Ninja roll, and we shared potstickers. Everything was delicious, and we were ogling the rolls on nearby tables, wishing we could try them all. 30 bucks for 2 people and we left full. Service was very friendly, and the waitresses, we noted, were very sweet with a nearby table full of toddlers. Going to be coming here often!

So far so GREAT! Love this place. I’ve been coming here back to back to back(thrice times) in a span of seven days, and definitely no RAGRETS! It’s definitely a place that is overlooked due to their location. It’s in the same plaza as the Walmart and LA fitness, across Kukai Ramen. We discovered this place thanks to Unilocal, and now my lunch money is going here. I don’t remember the names of the dish we ordered specifically, but we ordered the combo bento box with the spicy tuna roll, the salmon neck(this is a MUST), seared salmon nigiri, sashimi combo, aaaand their house sake. Will be going again to try out the other dishes on their menu! :0)

I go to the gym across the way and did not realize it was a Japanese restaurant until I was looking for a sushi spot in the area. It’s a decently sized restaurant in a small shopping plaza with plenty of parking. Inside it was nicely decorated which gave a nice atmosphere. I sat at the sushi bar, the sushi chefs as well as staff were very friendly. Portions were a good size. I had their SPICYTUNAROLL and DRAGONROLL which were delicious. My boyfriend had their CHIRASHISUSHI and he really liked it, very fresh with nice presentation, and a good portion too! It came with a small MISOSOUP which was tasty as well. What I thought was really nice and different from what I’ve ever seen was how descriptive their menu was for example their rolls. They list what is on the inside of the roll and outside of the roll. I thought that was really great!

This is a pretty good Japanese restaurant with authentic food. Their sushi is really good, but a little expensive. Overall a great experience.

The food was okay. The service was okay. I spent $ 26 on a sushi roll which had a burnt taste, a cup of tea with no refills($ 2.50) and 20 pieces of edamame(other restaurants give you a whole bowl of it). Kukai across the parking lot doesn’t even charge for tea. Wouldn’t ever go here again.

Have been wanting to try out this place for a while, and it did not disappoint. The Salmon and Tuna Don was excellent, super flavorful with good cuts of fatty fish. We also got superb tempura, and an amazing Energy Roll. My fiancé got a Strawberry soda to drink :) The wait staff was a bit too eager and hovered, but I don’t really care about service, just what arrives on my plate. And what we were served was really excellent.

Sushi was good but did not like the customer service at all. No wonder the restaurant was empty on friday night. We got at the restaurant at 8:15, the waitress told us at 8:20 the last call is at 8:25 and the restaurant closes at 8:45. We should have left there then but we ended up ordering food. I double checked with Sushi chef if it really closes at 8;45 and he said the last call is at 8:45. And we dont have to leave at 8:45. So we had dinner. We finished dinner and the waitresses kept coming to clear our table telling us it is closing. And finally around 9 the owner? older lady came to our table said they are closing and everyone needs to go home. We spent about $ 150 and were there less than an hour. we felt so sad being rushed to leave. We had children with us so were not intending to stay late either. We will never go back there again.

I really like this place. It’s been close to my home for a lot of years and for some reason I never knew about it! First of all, the wait staff and hostess are about as kind as you like to see anywhere! True Japanese hospitality right there in the WalMart shopping center! But don’t be afraid of the monstrosity next door, this sushi place is a nice, small and authentic Japanese restaurant. The sushi chefs are kind and not pretentious like many can, and like to be. The fish was fresh and the sushi rice was perfectly cooked and served at the perfect temperature. Be careful not to order too many sushi rolls as they are sized and prepared like a meal in themselves! Take a look at some of the other people’s tables to see what I’m talking about! I’ve also posted some pictures. Our next time in, I plan on ordering some of the kitchen items and maybe their noodles. I can’t wait to go back!

A bit of an odd location, but a good place none the less — the rolls we ordered were both yummy, and presented creatively. The man behind the bar(preparing our dishes) and the other staff on hand were kind, and despite what some other reviews say here, we weren’t charged for our tea.

There’s some very good sushi here, try the nitro and super nitro rolls. At the start they’ll offer you cucumber infused water to drink. Order some of the wonderful miso soup $ 2. Other places offer more for less, but this is good broth. Try out the super nitro(tuna) or super nitro salmon, these are really good rolls and they are filling. If you’re looking for something intersect the tiger eye roll is fried. For lunch on a Tuesday we had no problems finding a table, everyone was friendly and attentive.
