I’m being overly gracious by giving Sun Motors VW repair shop a 1-​star rating.
My experiences with Bob and John at Sun Motors was HORRIFIC! I can’t believe they are still in business. They held on to my classic Volkswagen for years, before I finally came down and drug it out of their shop. They also used my deposit toward other cars that they couldn’t afford to finish– the typical borrow from Peter to pay Paul. What little work they did actually accomplish was so bad, I literally had to start over.
I would never recommend Sun Motors Body Shop to anyone. I ended up suing them in small claims court and won the entire amount of $ 7500.00, but never received a penny of it because they quickly closed out their business bank account and hid the money in another account, making it impossible for me to collect my money– even after hiring a professional collection agency.
I’m not the first to sue Sun Motors– check the public court records in Bellflower, California and see there track record.
Here are some red flags to look for if you are foolish enough to consider them.
* Is their shop clean and orderly? They lost many of my rare VW parts.
* Are they telling you they only accept cash? That’s probably because your canceled check is proof of payment, which can be used in court as part of your defense.
* Are they operating with a legal business license? Last I checked, their Business license had expired.
* Does the shop have an actual business phone line, or are you having to reach them on their cell phones, which they conveniently avoid taking or returning your calls.
I hope this helps and prevents anyone else from being ripped off by these guys.

Sun has literally saved my hundreds of dollars on auto repair and maintenance. I drive up from OC to have my brakes and rotors replaced and save two hundred dollars each time. (Range Rover rotors are expensive)
Additionally, I have met many local customers who are happy to have an honest auto mechanic nearby.

Brought my 56 Oval window here 2 years ago. Guys were all business. Had been to several of the other big names and half the time I couldn’t get a call back or else I was looking @ some ridiculous price or time frame.
