Specialties

Dog Running–

We run dogs in your neighborhood and, whenever possible, on local trails. Similar to dog walking, dog running is for dogs that need more vigorous activity than a neighborhood walk.

Rates start at $ 27 for single runs and are economical at $ 23 per run for multiples.

Trail Adventures–

Trail Adventures are two-hour off-leash run/hikes where dogs can run free, smell a variety of natural scents, play with new friends, and come home exercised, calm, and tired. Pups explore and run off pent-up energy. Benefits include: a calmer dog, improved social skills, healthy bones and muscles, and a stimulated mind. For humans, it means full satisfaction knowing your dog has been properly exercised. There is NO substitute for exercise when it comes to improved canine behavior.

Candidates for Trail Adventures must not demonstrate ANY aggression towards other dogs or humans. All dogs most have recall and respond to the basic command «come». Dogs must be well-mannered, neutered/spayed and socialized. All dogs are screened prior to off leash Trail Adventures. Screenings are free.

Pick up times are between 9−10am and drop off is between 1 — 2pm. Rate is $ 22 per day

History

Established in 2015.

Inspiration for Bellingham Dog Runner combines a passion for running and love for our two German Shorthaired Pointers, Jet and Shyla.

Jet and Shyla run a minimum of one hour daily, and that’s just to take the edge off. Crazy, trust me I know. We got our dogs to join us on mountain hikes and for long runs as I trained for ultra-marathons. I had read an article in Runners World about the best running dogs, we fell hard for the breed. After reading about their exercise needs, I truly believed the information was inflated. I could not have been more wrong! After Jet joined me on his first 3.5-hour mountain run, I found him standing by back door waiting with a ball in his mouth. Like many dog lovers, we had underestimated our dogs exercise appetite. We needed help!

Once or twice a week we tried a dog park or hired a dog walker, but for Jet, Shyla, and many breeds it’s just was not enough.

They need to run.

Business Owner

I am trail runner, dog lover, adventure seeker, who left the hustle and grind of corporate world as a former GM, to combine a love for dogs and running. My idea of a good day at the office is running 10 miles with dogs and seeing post run glowing smiles on canine faces.
