Established in 2010.

Chuckanut Builders was founded in 2010 with a goal of making a difference in the community while building and remodeling resource efficient homes.

Prior to starting Chuckanut Builders owners Ian Rae and Forest Chiavario both spent many years working in the the trades and learning the craft. This made them both realize that the most effective way to make a difference in the community is to put their ideals to work by building projects that include energy efficient, green details and making supporting local businesses and suppliers a real priority.

Business Owner

Ian is a Bellingham native who worked his way through high school and college in the trades. After studying American history, astronomy and chemistry in college he realized that his true passion was in the building trades. Ian wears many hats at Chuckanut Builders, chief among this is as a building nerd. He is passionate about building performance and is excited about helping home owners improve the efficiency and comfort of their homes.
