Dancing Dog Tile & Clay Works Studio & Gallery

More than a decade ago I found two gorgeous fern tile tables in a Fairhaven shop while visiting for a wedding. I couldn’t get them out of my mind. So much so… I flew home only to make a cross-​country trek to the Pacific NW and eventually purchase the tables. Some time later I met the artist at the Anacortes art festival and he told me the story of how these tables were prototypes for a larger dining table. One of them had been ding’d in the pottery studio while on display… but I don’t mind at all. I only wish I could have more pieces or find a more exquisite way to showcase the tile tops… like as the back inlay of a hutch or buffet for all to see when they walk in our home. Now that I have children they are playing and using the tables too. It was meant to be… just like my children. The hand-​worked table legs, painted tiles (of which the artist was shy about), and impressions of both fern fronds and dog (even though I don’t have pets) are unique, stunning, and beautiful craftsmanship.
