Surprisingly unprofessional service from a small business owner. It is as if the owner, Julie, doesn’t want any business. I called to see if I could get in for a haircut. The owner’s response was, «I don’t know, can you?» Do yourself a favor, oblige Julie, don’t spend your money at Jake’s.

I had been told by other folks that owner of this place was abusive and abrasive to them but I had never had that experience until now. I had a thoroughly unpleasant experience with Julie who was just plain obnoxious interacting with me and her staff. I won’t be going back.

Just recently moved to Bellingham and needed a haircut. When Googling, found Jake’s B.S. to be the closest one with positive reviews, so I decided to check it out. I had a personal barber for over 3 years and as you know, there’s always a big risk by switching. Luckily, the barber I got named Nicole did the perfect job! I honestly did not expect it to be that good, but damn! People that work there are all nice and know how to have fun. +5 points for that. I will definitely come again for Nicole and would recommend.

Got a great cut from Sam Claire, and everyone was very friendly. I will definitely be back especially knowing they are getting a pool table!

My experience at Jake’s was a very mixed bag. First, the good: The atmosphere and people are great. There is a very cool vibe, groovy tunes that are just the right volume, and very friendly barbers.
Now the bad: My shave was absolutely terrible. The barber was really nice, but she was not skilled. The results were patchy, and I had to shave again when I got home. That said, there were no cuts. Also, there is a shave and cut special price of $ 40 dollars that I was charged, but after checking the price list, REGULAR price for my buzz cut and shave is $ 37.
Great folks, probably fine for a haircut, but pass on the shave.
