Jiffy Lube

Went in for an oil change and after about ten minutes in the waiting room was asked by a care associate if there was a «trick» to remove my oil cap, I informed him that I don’t change my oil and have never removed the oil cap and wouldn’t know if there was a trick. I walked with him out to the garage where I overheard an associate say that he had attempted to remove the cap and the top half broke off when doing so. I attempted to remove the cap but discovered it was already broken when I grabbed it. I asked the associate what the next course of action was and he told me that they couldn’t help me at all and that I would have to have a mechanic remove and replace the cap. This is where my problems began, I asked if they should replace the cap since they were the ones to break it, and they told me that the cap was broken when my car first came into the garage, the problem with this is why ask me if the cap has a trick to get it off it is already broken? These jiffy lube associates knew they had broken the cap and by having me grab it attempted to absolve themselves of all guilt. They had my car in the garage for at least 10 minutes and I believe it would have taken less then that to realize the cap was already broken as they had stated. i believe this 10 minutes was used to reef on my oil cap, break it, then attempt to act as if nothing happened. My car was then driven out of the garage and I with protest was told to go elsewhere. To make a long story short Jiffy Lube has no desire to help their customers and when they make a mistake they attempt to pass all guilt onto naïve customers.

I went in for an oil change and they were very friendly and provided great customer service. I was worried that they would try and push a more expensive oil change on me, but they were really nice and gave me exactly what I asked for. The staff was also really conversational, which was nice.

I have had my 2002 Sierra serviced at this Jiffy location for years. A few times I chose to have another service facility in Bellingham — Sehome Express Lube — service my truck. Every time I went back to Jiffy they would tell me that my truck was exactly 1 quart low on oil. With higher miles on my truck I expected that it may be burning a little. My truck has a 5.3L engine and takes 6 quarts of oil and the Jiffy database tells the techs that. The Sehome database does not have detailed information and shows my truck as a 4.8L which takes 5 quarts. So I have been driving around a quart low multiple times which is not good on the engine. I will never go back to Sehome Express Lube and you should not either — they will help to wear out your vehicle faster by their lack of knowledge.
Not only does Jiffy have a great database but they always perform their services to a high standard, give positive customer service with a smile (like the old days), and they have proven to me over many years to be exceptional in servicing vehicles.

Just to followup… since. you might think they actually give a shit by replying to my review…
They however do not, I kinda figured it was some reputation service making the reply (based on how it was written), but I figured if they are willing to reply Ill listen.
So. I did reply with my contact info… ZERO contact from them (it’s been weeks)
Bottom line the replies to the bad reviews are not real, just an attempt to manage the shitty reviews and make it APPEAR they give a crap…
Im guessing there might be another very prompt reply to this post, just like the last one… none of it meaning anything other than to try fool people into thinking they follow up…
It is however an attempt to «reputation manage» it is not an attempt to make it right
fuck you and your bullshit reputation management attempt… you made me want to do business with you even less…

Brought my car in to get the tires rotated and oil changed, they managed to somehow break my spedometer and my rpm monitor. When i brought it back in (in under 5 mins) they called some random «mechanic» that i wasn’t allowed to talk to and miraculously absolved they of all guilt.
Basically I’ll be taking it in to get fixed and forwarding them the bill since they are the ones that messed up my car.

Stopped in to Jiffy Lube because the sensor on my van said the oil was too high after getting our oil changed the day before (not at a Jiffy Lube). George, the general manager, was extremely friendly and helpful, helping us out right away with siphoning the excess oil out and explaining the entire situation to us. The vibe at this place is great and the employees are professional and kind. Just speaking with George for a few minutes gave me the sense that he is a manager with the upmost integrity and good intention.

Friendly & courteous service. Knowledgeable about their products. Dimitri did an excellent job providing great customer service. Likely to use this service again!

This place is a serious joke for automotive care. I had a similar experience to others. Dropped my car off to empty bays, they said it would be 35 minutes or so and when I returned an hour later (after breakfast at Arliss’s –awesome) they hadn’t started on my truck yet. Guy didn’t know which oil to use and I had reservations but when no work was started I thankfully left. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE if you value your time or automobile.

Went to Jiffy Lube to get an oil change on my Acura on a Friday night as I was catching a ferry early the next morning. Next day, went to load up the car, oil had leaked all over a new brick driveway. Took it back to them– they said that it was a «faulty oil filter» although another said that the oil filter was not screwed on correctly.
Tried to get in touch with the manager to get resolution on cost of cleaning the bricks (to no success)– and have had no communication from anyone there.
Have tried all sorts of different methods to try and get the huge oil slick off my brick driveway but no success. Looks like I will be replacing bricks and taking them to Small claims Court to get reimbursement. Never again!
9÷9÷13−− an update– and my apology. This was posted to the wrong location. The location was the one at the corner of Hannigan and Bakerview, Bellingham. Apologies to the guys at Cornwall (who incidentally were concerned enough to call me and offer to go and view the situation. Sounds like I will be heading to Cornwall in future~)
10÷14÷13−− STILL trying to get this problem rectified. Seems to me like the only way to deal with this company is to fix it yourself and sue them in Small Claims Court. Admittedly Jeremiah (mgr. at Cornwall) did make a couple of attempts to sort the problem out but when there was no result (oil stain still there) phone calls go unanswered…
If you want something done right, do it yourself and use the legal system to get reimbursed…

I had a similar experience. A guy hustled out after I parked my car (it’s a tricky location) to tell me they wouldn’t START on my car for 30 – 45 minutes because they were doing a tune-​up. The bays were empty. Strange place. I left.

My first trip to this location wasn’t great. I wanted an oil change, which they did, and did it well, as well as you can do an oil change, and then were relentless on the upsell. Would you like a radiator flush, did you want your wiper blades replaced, you have a brake light out, would you like us to fix that, on and on. Their price wasn’t that great, there’s always something that I need, (in my 4 cylinder toyota pickup) that makes the price more than what they advertise.
Thanks to a Groupon deal, I made my second trip to this location today. The guy came out to the car and said, we have a couple of people ahead of you, it’ll be about 30 minutes. Since I work a few blocks away, I said… no problem, I can walk to work from here. He said. has this car been to Jiffy Lube before? I said no. he said, we require you to be here for check-​in if it’s the first time your car has been here. I’ve had a lot of oil changes, some I had to make appointments for, some just walked in and dropped the car, but I’ve never heard of waiting until they were done with the car before you so you could check in.

Sorta takes the «jiffy» out of it. I didn’t really care how long they had the car, but it’s the middle of the work day, I don’t have an extra 30 minutes to sit and wait for them to finish another car. I asked why, and he said, well, we need to go over all the recommendations for your particular vehicle, (read «upsell you stuff you didn’t even know you didn’t want). So we went away again.

As far as I know, an oil change isn’t difficult to do, especially if you have the right tools, and a full shop to do it in. I usually go to one of the local places, who also do a good job, and may even require an appointment, but are usually $ 25 less out the door, because they stick to their advertised price.
Once this groupon is used, I’ll be going back to one of the many local shops to get my oil changed.

Fast service at a very reasonable price (with early bird discount). Competant, friendly staff. Definitely coming back.
