One of the toughest choices that my wife and I had to make while planning our wedding was the selection of our photographer. We spent a lot of time evaluating the cost vs the quality of the (potential) photos and checking references. After working in the media industry for more than a decade I have a keen awareness that just because someone a couple of beautiful photos on their website or demo reel doesn’t mean anything nor will it determine that they will do a good job as your wedding photographer. (We all get lucky once in awhile and take a good photo or two.)
After hiring Katy we were very delighted with her skills at composing our photos and her excellent client communication. Through the process of planning the wedding Katy was very responsive and offered great suggestions with regard to planning our our wedding day. We are very thankful for her suggestions specifically dealing with the timeline of our wedding and reception. She also offered great ideas for dealing with rain when the extended forecast came out and freaked out my wife.
During the engagement and during the wedding photo shoots her and her husband Charles did a great job with directing (us) the subjects into just the right positions and were able to do a great job with keeping the process as stress free as possible. We were also very pleased with regard to the organization of the shooting, they were extremely efficient with getting the right people into the shots. All of their hard work really showed in the photographs that we were relaxing and simply enjoying our day.
Having just received our wedding photos, we couldn’t be happier with the results. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Katy to anyone.

Katy was fantastic to work with at each stage of the wedding photo process. Our finished photos are just gorgeous, and they really evoke the spirit of the day. That’s what we wanted — somebody who would document the important moments and all that, but also somebody who could distill the spirit and the fun and the love into a story told in photos, and that’s just what she did. I can’t say enough great things about her and her work!
My (now) husband and I are both super awkward around cameras, but somehow, she put us at ease and managed to catch perfect, true moments between us. If you’re recognizing something of yourself in this, I highly recommend doing an engagement shoot. We’re not the sort who would’ve done one otherwise, but Katy suggested doing one anyway as an icebreaker and sort of a trial run, and I think our wedding photos are 300% better because of it. (And the engagement photos turned out really nicely, too!) They gave us a chance to get to know Katy and to get comfortable with being in front of a camera, so by the time the wedding rolled around, being sincere and natural with a lens pointed at us actually happened. And she got a feel for what we wanted, our styles, that sort of thing. Win-​win!
Something I hadn’t especially thought about at first but see clearly in retrospect — wedding photos are more than just photos of us. They capture the guests, the moments between the guests, the parts of the ceremony and party that you didn’t get to see. And the photos of this sort that Katy took are just fantastic. I well up with emotion every time I look at them — she captured the whole thing so well! She has a fantastic eye for those little moments!
Oh, and our day-​of planner and our officiant both recommended Katy. To me, that speaks highly of her as a professional.
I’ve never considered either of us photogenic before, but honestly, I do now, after this whole great experience! Katy takes great photos, and she’s a really lovely person. I wholeheartedly recommend her services, and I’m so glad that we put our trust in her!

Katy is friendly, fun, and incredibly easy to work with. Her warm personality makes it easy to just relax and be myself in front of the camera, yieling genuine-​looking photos. She also has an artistic eye, making her photos of people look like a little more than just a photo of a person. Her online portfolio is easy to use and share with friends (does not require a password) and it’s easy to buy extra images online.

Katy was a perfect choice to capture our family moments! We are a large and noisy family — 7 grandkids — 5 under 4 years of age, and Katy was able to take many many wonderful posed and candid shots. She was quick and unobtrusive. I highly recommend her for a family photoshoot!

We originally had a different photographer for our wedding/​engagement photos and she did our engagement photo shoot. However That didn’t end well and My coworkers sister in law gave me Katy’s information.
From our initial conversation Katy seemed legitimately excited about working with us from the emails you can tell that she genuinely enjoys her job. She was great with communication I am honestly terrible with it and with all the times I forgot to get back to her she had no issue with working with us. She knew we were on a pretty tight budget and she even changed a package around for us because she wouldn’t be doing a engagement shoot with us.
Now to the wedding day this women and her fiancé (at the time now husband congrats!!!) were like picture taking ninjas I literally did not see them standing around at any moment they were working the entire time they were around us. They both have amazing eyes for photos. While I’m thinking she’s taking a picture of us with radon branches in our faces she’s capturing a beautiful photo of us surrounded by the beautiful greenery in volunteer park.
We also made her aware that we didn’t want to take the traditional «corny» photos that you see at a wedding and we’re both pretty awkward and don’t really want to be posing in positions that are more acting and not genuine. She was able to get us in the perfect positions and all the photos felt natural and none forced.
Did I mention the amount of photos she gave us and the extremely fast turn around. We saw all of our photos in 4 days the same night she gave us a sneak peak of about 3 photos. We went to Hawaii for a week and had a USB with all of our photos on it at our doorstep when we got back.
When we plan on having kids when we plan to renew our vows I might even make up random events just so we can have a photographer. Every time I will contact Katy for the amazing work and experience she gave us. She was by far more then i expected and I would recommend her to any and everyone that needs an event photographer. Oh yeah her pricing was very reasonable and worth it!

What more needs to be said about this incredibly talented photographer. Put simply into one word: magic. I cannot count on two hands how many times this breathtaking lady has dazzled me. Time moves too slowly in anticipation for the next time she takes my picture.

Katy took our engagement photos and is soon to take photos at our wedding. We had such an amazing time with Katy at our engagement shoot! On top of her incredible talent as a photographer, she is just so much fun to be around! She put us at ease right away and enabled us to be ourselves. She captured the true essence of us as a couple. Out of all the excitement of our upcoming wedding, I’m honestly most excited to get to work with Katy again!

My husband and I were reminiscing on our wedding last night by looking through the beautiful album that Katy made for us. The album is large and quality, it’s sitting on our shelf on display and ready to skim.
Of course, the album wasn’t the only great part about Katy shooting out wedding. She was a dream! So fun and responsive from our first contact to our last requests. We received our photos so quickly, which was a shock and so fun! Katy has a gift for photography but also for working with people. She’s kind and friendly but knows when to kick it up to get people where they need to be.
You will not be disappointed with Katy. You’ll have amazing photographs and more than likely a new friend: D

Katy came highly recommended to me when I was looking for wedding photographers and I can honestly say she was recommended for many good reasons:
First, and probably most important, is that Katy is a fun, easy-​going, and wonderful person. This makes her a joy to work with. If you don’t like your photographer, you’re not going to take beautiful photos. My now-​husband was uncomfortable about getting his picture taken, but after working with Katy, he realized that it really just takes an awesome person to make you come out of your shell. Katy can do that.
Second, Katy is incredibly talented. Just look at her portfolio. She captures the child in all of us. Whimsy, fun, joy, light, positivity, magic, love — just some words I would describe when I see her photos.
Third, Katy is an incredible working professional. She gets back to your emails faster than the speed of light, she’s on-​time, she’s incredibly regimented. Her turn-​around times on delivering your photos are unbelievable — she met and exceeded my expectations. The last thing as a bride you want to worry about is micro-​managing your vendors. Katy will never put you in that position.
I can’t recommend Katy enough to be your photographer and capture your wonderful moments that you can cherish forever. Not to mention, you might make a new friend in Katy :)

Katy is such a joy to work with! She has done our wedding, newborn and then a 6 month shoot with our daughter. She really makes everyone comfortable and captures those special moments! Katy is simply amazing! Katy did our wedding photos last year on 08÷02÷13 and she was excellent. She also did our engagement photos prior. We had her for the entire day of the wedding and I was shocked at the amount of photos she was able to take in one day! She is excellent in making sure she captures the shots that you want and also using her artistic eye to get those shots you would never think of.
