I was feeling super sick and my friend brought me a soup to go– it was delicious! I’d definitely recommend after only that one experience. I plan to come back but I always forget that it isn’t open on weekends!

As a busy small business owner, I am SO happy to have Leaf & Ladle on the same block to fuel me with fast, fresh, healthy food! The best value around for a hearty and delicious lunch.

Wonderful little place. Incredible food! Soups, wraps, sandwiches are all fresh and awesome tasting. My wife and I are vegans so for us, this place is heaven. Lots of choices, which in Bellingham being vegan, is unheard of. They also offer soups and homemade prepared meals which we almost always buy to have at home.

I’ve been searching for a close-​by lunch spot with excellent salads. Leaf & Ladle has excelled in delivering mouth watering fresh delicious salads my first three visits.
The Asian Chicken salad was so flavorful with the basil, mint, cilantro, cabbage, peanuts, jicima & cucumber… and the dressing. Absolutely perfect.
I phoned ahead and my salad was ready promptly. Definitely on my goto lunch list now.

So good and vegan! This place is awesome and the people are super friendly, making wholesome yummy plant based foods with a great variety for meat eaters too. I had the vegan panini with a side of greens and it was delishhh. Definitely returning soon with my boyfriend and probably for dinner too! They’re open until 8 pm. Bummer they aren’t open on the weekend though.

How did this restaurant evade me for so long! Best food for the $ for lunch. The highest of quality and ingredients. Creative, healthy menu. Impressive staff as well. Will be going back weekly for sure!

Fantastic find in a town with so-​so food. While it may look like a lunch spot it’s very nice for an evening meal with friends. The menu is great and being a vegan is usually a pain but not here. There are many vegan and vegetarian options to choose from. I think I ordered them all except for the Caesar’s Salad. Very tasty and fresh! I am going to make this my go to spot every time I travel through Bellingham. I hope they keep their evening hours. Important to me also is cleanliness and this place is spotless. I would recommend this place highly.

I found the menu to be very user friendly with both my vegan friend and me, a meat eater. I’ll definitely go back, though I do wish I could have soup as a side vs the chips or greens.

Excellent food and awesome variety. My mom is a vegan and they had an option for her — she was very excited!

I have to say I was sufficiently impressed with this place. I didn’t have overly high expectations, but they had so many gluten-​free options and everything was so reasonably priced. I had a bowl of their gluten-​free clam chowder, which was pretty good, with a side of gluten-​free chips and some hot tea. All of this was $ 10, including the tip.
The service was friendly, and it was just a perfect day for hot tea and soup. My friend and I sat in the back, and we relaxed and visited for a good hour and a half. We never felt rushed, and the service was good – quick, friendly and unobtrusive. I will definitely be back.

This place is wonderful! I love having a healthier option to grab lunch! Veg friendly and lots of dairy-​free options as well! Small space and so it tends to get crowded quick! Food is always delicious and fresh tasting!

So good! Really fresh ingredients and scratch cooking. The space is really relaxed. Just note it’s a smaller space so getting a table is something to check.

I really wanted to love this place, especially after so many amazing reviews. I have walked by many times but due to their limited hours (M-​F, 11 – 4) I hadn’t been able to stop by until now.
I walked in right behind a gentleman who must be a regular. The elder of the two ladies greeted him, he placed his order and he sat down to chat with her while his food was prepared. I looked at the menu, excited to see several choices that looked amazing and went up to place my order. I selected the vegan BLT wrap and a cup of the thai coconut soup. The younger woman asked if I wanted greens or chips. I asked her what the chips were and she got annoyed and said they were just chips. I chose greens upon seeing the bag of greasy potato chips on the counter and wanted to dine in, despite the limited seating, I then made the mistake of being friendly, telling her that I was glad I could finally try this restau… She cut me off mid sentence with a «uh-​huh». I was so taken aback at her rudeness that I wanted to leave then and there. The other customer was still in a friendly conversation with the other lady and it was such a strange juxtaposition being me being cut off and him chatting away. I changed my order to go, no longer wishing to be there but hopeful about the food.
I took my wrap and soup home. The wrap looked amazing and tasted wonderful going down but was incredibly greasy. I had to wash my hand several times. I liked how they put the wrap on the grill, giving the tortilla a good crunch. After eating the wrap, I feel gross. The soup? Ew! I had two bites and had to throw the rest away. It smelled funny when I opened it. The coconut broth was okay but the mushy, olive colored vegetable mess at the bottom was inedible.
Maybe I should give it another chance before dismissing it forever. But I am not tempted. There are so many great places downtown and life is too short.

New menu items once in awhile… Soup, salad, sandwich spot. Good for lunch. Street parking.

Yay! I love this place. I have been hunting for a place in Bellingham to grab a bite on the go that suits my needs — quick, vegan and inexpensive. Leaf and Ladel is all of this these wrapped into one!
I have only been once and I had the bbq tofu wrap with a side of greens. Wow. It was so tasty, fresh, filling and nutritious.
Not only do they have vegan items, but they also have gluten free and meat fare as well. Something for everyone!
The space itself is small and quaint. They have ample seating, even a couple of seats outside.
Can’t wait to go back!

Although I kept accidentally calling this place «Lawn and Leaf», I figured it was worth a try. Really great food, very fresh and veg friendly. The salads are huge and well made, the sandwiches are really tasty too. Friendly staff and very charming décor without being overly quirky. I will definitely be coming back!

Leaf and Ladle is a delightful little sandwich shop on the skirts of downtown. Happily, they had several vegetarian options and the food was delicious. I loved the atmosphere, making it a great place to bring the family, a date, or a business associate. You can tell that so much love and thought has gone into every little detail.
The customer service is top-​notch, both friendly and accommodating. Treat yourself to a cookie after lunch and you’ll be smiling!
