Specialties
Professional theatre for young audiences and their familes. Along with our public performances, we also offer outreach in local public and private schools, professional development for teachers, after school drama clubs and summer drama camps.
History
Established in 2002.
We started in elementary schools across Bellingham, giving one hour to one week workshops with classes, encouraging students to find and use their own actor’s tools. Many of these students are now graduating high school, with wonderful public speaking skills! In 2004 we incorporated and in 2009, TNP gained its federally recognized non-profit status. We are now producing Theatre for Young Audiences, hiring local, trained actors.
Meet the Manager
Lizanne S.
Manager
Lizanne is one of our founders and the current Artistic Director. She and husband Jerry McGarity began the theatre together and continue to work together in school assemblies and workshops. Lizanne is a professional Equity actor as well as an established director, and spends a good deal of time reviewing plays and coordinating TNP events.
She will direct the upcoming spring show and teach the summer drama Production Camp.
