Vinostrology Wine Lounge & Merchant

This is a cute cozy wine bar geared toward the 45+ crowd. The happy hour is minimal and not really worth it. Be warned about the sleepy 70s soft rock they had playing.

Time for a Spritz!
We stopped here for a quick snack and some wine tasting. Great happy hour offerings but ended up getting Spritzes instead doing any wine tasting. We also ordered the Big Bowl of Popcorn which I highly recommend. At $ 4, it was a deal. We ordered the butter with chile and Parmigiano-​Reggiano cheese and it was delicious. The right amount of saltiness and flavor to go with our Prosecco and Lillet Spritzes.
I like the ambiance and the feel of the venue as well. Cozy and not overly done. Comfortable bench seats by the window and a long bar area.
Next time we are in Bellingham, we will definitely stop by.

We came here with a group of 14 on Saturday with very short notice. We had reservations at a different winery for a tasting, but showed up and they were closed, no explanation. This really put a cramp in our plans, so when I called Vinostrology and talked to Caitlin, she said there was no problem and she would happily accommodate all of us.
Her service was excellent. She is smiley, friendly, and got everyone’s orders quickly and precisely. This is the second time she has helped us and her warm personality will definitely keep us coming back, along with the delicious wine and food!
The popcorn was amazing, really don’t know what they did to it but we devoured it instantly.

My favorite! Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Wine selection is top notch! Events are worth attending! Food is great and changes menu often!

This was my first visit to Vinostrology. I liked the décor & the selection of wine that they had. I wasn’t fond of the $ 8 corkage fee charged on the bottle of wine that we purchased there to enjoy during our visit.

Great vibe, wonderful owner and great service! Get the olive and nut plate, add salami and you’re all set. So glad to see this establishment in Bellingham — much needed!

They had Turley by the glass and a good selection of beers. It’s comfortable and casual.
Would revisit any time I’m in town.

Fun concept & good wine selection
Pros:
— Lots of nice wines that you can taste or get full glass of
— Nice small bites
— Love the system with tastes and working through flights
— Nice bottles to buy with very reasonable prices
— Live music from awesome local musicians
Cons:
— Seating can be sort if awkward — bench seats are higher than tables or chairs so you sort of look down
— Service sporadic — sometimes attentive & knowledgeable and other times spacey & absent

We held my wife’s birthday party for 25 here. The space was perfect, warm, intimate, and comfortable with ample room for mingling. Katie prepared incredible platters of cheeses, meats and olives with excellent crusty baguette, then added plates of crackers with olive tapenade, lemon artichoke dip, as well as flat bread pizza. The service was excellent; unobtrusive, but we never lacked for anything. Top that all off with a huge selection of wines by the glass and the ability to purchase bottles at store prices and pay a modest corkage fee, or beer or soft drinks and there was something for everyone.
Vinostrology was the perfect choice. I can’t imagine it would have turned out better anywhere else. We’ll be back and I know that several of the attendees will return also.

Can’t say enough about how fantastic Vinostrology is! I’ve been several times and my entire experience has been superlative each time! A fabulous selection of wines, and the small plates are delicious, well prepared & presented. And the live jazz has been very enjoyable. This is becoming a regular spot for me. Check it out!

Wow! What a great little oasis. I dropped my high school senior and her friend off at campus to hang out and walk around for two hours and was so happy to find this sophisticated, comfortable place with a great wine selection, nice munchies, and delightful service. Highly recommend you pop in here.

Vinostrology, a great addition to Bellingham’s downtown life. Excellent flavor both in ambience and wine! Selections are abundant and staff are all knowledgeable in helping with what to choose, especially the owner! =)
We always leave with a bottle to take home and enjoy as well.

There are certain qualities I like in a wine bar and this place has them all. First: ambiance, and Vinostrology definitely has it. The colors are subdued, the lighting intimate, and the seating comfy and welcoming. Next: selection, and again Vinostrology does not disappoint. There’s something for everyone, at every price point, and if you can’t quite decide then they have flights of four pre-​selected reds or whites. Plus each wine is available in either a 2-​oz, half glass, or full glass. Finally: accessibility. There’s nothing worse than a snooty wine bar, and you will not find that here. The owners are friendly and they know their wines, but they are also happy to answer any questions and assist you in making your selection.
They also have wines by the bottle, which you can take home or enjoy on-​site for a small corkage fee. Their appetizer menu also does not disappoint — including a tantalizing cheese plate that’s become our favorite.
Vinostrology has become our new favorite place for date night.

I enjoyed a Sunday afternoon sipping/​reading ‘Katie’s’ suggested wine reviews… and I haven’t been the same since. The wine selections are both innovative and sensible. Why sip grapes in your living room when you can enjoy the wine at Vinostrology?!

This place deserves to be slammed. It’s great for wine geeks AND just happy people who like to have a drink with friends. You can do tiny tastes, small tastes, whole glasses, mix and match, yak with the owner, people watch the alley and the street, eat herbed parmesan popcorn (etc — but I dig the popcorn), try another little pour of something you otherwise would never try — it’s really fun. A nice, clean, but LAID BACK environment. What a splendid addition to Bellingham. Go!

Vinostrology, as good as it is, seems to be a bit invisible. I passed it up twice, walking up and down the street trying to find it. But, once you do, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the incredibly delicious selection of wines to sample, have a glass, or even buy a bottle. It’s such a great find, to have something so classy here in Bellingham (not that Bham is not a great town — and I love Bham!). This place needs some serious marketing help to let residents know what’s hiding behind this tiny storefront.
In addition to the wide array of delicious and affordable wines, the owner cooks up some fantastic tomato/​feta cheese dip with sliced baguettes that’s filling, even though it’s an appetizer, and they have a few other selections to buy for a nominal price.
All I can say is you’ve got to try this little gem. The only con to comment on is that one of the servers was paying so much attention to and chatting with her relative at the wine bar, was eating off of his plate, that I wasn’t even shown an appetizer list by the owner until I was almost ready to leave. Customer service is okay, but needs to be fine tuned with a bit more professionalism and few more smiles on their faces while serving customers. If you can ignore these faux pas and have another glass of wine, you’ll probably be able to ignore this.
Must say, though, I had a taste, then a glass, of the most aromatic, delicious wine I’ve ever tasted in a long time, and it was very reasonably priced. Sadly, I have not been able to find it in any store in Bellingham so I’ll probably be going back to see if they still carry it.
