Fit for Life Physical Therapy specializes in injuries related to neck and spine as well as orthopedic issues involving shoulders, hips and knees. We can treat issues from arthritis and rheumatoid problems to musculoskeletal dysfunction, exercise and sports related discomfort, work related injuries, and pre and post orthopedic/​surgical procedures.

In addition to physical therapy, we provide cold laser, educational seminars, orthotics, home visits, and fitness studio. We see a variety of people from ages 10 years old into their 80’s. We provide additional programs such as our Med Fit and Club Fit program, which are more personalized therapy and wellness options.

At Fit for Life Physical Therapy we pride ourselves on the individualized attention each of our patients receive from the day they start to the day they are discharged. Together, you and your physical therapist will establish your treatment program and will work towards achieving the goals you establish.

History

Established in 2006.

We have been providing physical therapy in Bellmore for over 5 years. We were previously located at 2307 Bellmore Ave in Bellmore and have relocated in December of 2010 to our new home at 2473 Merrick Rd in Bellmore.

Fit For Life is housed in a state of the art 1,500 square foot physical therapy facility, with a staff that brings over twenty years of successful training and experience.

Our mission is to foster independence and patient empowerment through customized treatment plans that relieve pain, recover function, and increase flexibility and mobility, thus providing each patient with the opportunity to return to the quality of life that they desire and deserve.

Meet the Business Owner

Russ P.

Business Owner

Russ received his physical therapy degree from SUNY at Stony Brook in 1992 followed by advanced training in Manual Therapy from the University of St. Augustine. Mr. Poker also holds degrees in physical education from Adelphi University and the Wingate Institute in Israel. Russ also served from 1982 – 1985 in the Israeli Army where a portion of which he served as a Combat Fitness Instructor at the Israeli Army’s Officer School. As a young man, Russ was an accomplished high school gymnast and enjoys other recreational sports giving him a personal understanding of what is required during participation allowing him the insight into rehabilitation of the competitive as well as recreational athlete.
