History

Established in 2010.

We owned two other restaurant in East Side, Manhattan, one in Montclair, NJ and it is our third in Long Island. We continue to develop and making a new restaurant for the coming years and we hope to cater in all states.

This is a fusion restaurant, in which you can enjoy many choices of Asian food with american taste and prepared with fresh ingredients by special chefs. You can also eat sushi, sashimi with special spicy mayo sauces. All sushi and sashimi serve with careful selected fresh fishes, cut and prepared by good presentation.

Where do people who don’t celebrate Christmas go on Christmas Eve? Asian Cuisine of course! My family and I wanted to try something new and we were not disappointed.
Very friendly, fast and accommodating service. Stylish, Trendy and Loungy atmosphere (music, décor and lighting) making this place perfect for small groups or an intimate date. Food is tasty and Spicy Mayo definitely has quite the kick. Food is fresh and the menu offers a good variety.

Eat in, delivery, this place is pretty good for fast Chinese food. It’s not as greasy, nor too high in sugar, so it’s a fairly palatable menu. Parking is a little bit tight… I’d opt for the free delivery over 15. Price is reasonable. Portion is not huge.

We were so disappointed after thinking we found a new sushi/​Chinese place to go.
The sashimi/​sushi deluxe tasted like it was stored in the freezer for months.
It was mealy tasting and discolored, especially the tuna and salmon.
Owner had a very disinterested and bad attitude toward our complaint.
My wife and I had diarrhea for a little over 24 hours. (Sorry to share the graphic details)
We don’t understand how something like that could happen in a new restaurant where quality and good service should be a priority.

Great dinner! Live Music on Friday and Saturdays that’s relaxing and entertaining while you eat and start your Friday night.
The restaurant is elegantly decorated with sparking chandelier lighting and modern Asian décor. The bathrooms have a modern look as well and love the sink!
I’m a sushi fanatic and sometimes hesitant to go to fusion places for some amazing sushi. I was never let down here! Whoever picks the fish knows what they are doing!
They have specials nightly and have no problem with substitution or addition to rolls. Yes — sometimes I like to add some jalapeño!
The manager and staff are so nice and love they remember me :)
It’s my go to place also after or before the spa! Perfect days
Today I was pleasantly surprised with the music and added company from the area so it’s a great start to the weekend!

I have to say, this was some of the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I ordered beef mei fun. It tasted like seafood. Also the chicken with bok Choy. Awful. The chicken had an odd consistency and the sauce had NO flavor whatsoever. Would not recommend.

Been going here for 5 months and still love the food. summer roll is great and the shrimp shumai is great. The food is not salty so we’re never thirsty like other places can get. Many of the sushi dishes look like works of art. Always tip the sushi chefs in their jar we didn’t know our 20% wasn’t split with the sushi chefs and they deserve tips!

Went here for the first time today with a friend. From the start it was a great experience. The manager/​inner came up to us and seated us quickly, even shook my hand. I ordered the tri color sushi entrée which was very fresh and delicious. The presentation was amazing, I almost didn’t want to touch it it looked so good. Presentation is something I love about sushi and this place does an amazing job of laying out the plate. Highly recommend this place for a good sushi lunch or dinner. Prices are about the same as most other sushi restaurants in the area.

Horrible customer service! Got an order delivered and paid cash. When I opened the bags, my main course was missing, and there was a bowl of rice instead. I called immediately. They asked if I wanted to «add» my main course. I explained that I paid for it already, and still had the order on my computer screen. They didn’t apologize. I waited for redelivery. No one came. I called again, asking when to expect my main course. Again I was asked if I would like to add this order. Are you kidding me? Again I explained the situation. They said they would credit me for next time. There will be no next time! I want my dinner the way I ordered it and paid for. The lobster roll should be called the Waldo roll, because it’s easier to find Waldo than it is lobster. Not impressed. First and final experience with this place.

Not only is the food amazing but the manager, Andy makes your time there a 10 star experience. He welcomes you with a hug and takes care of you the entire dinner. The atmosphere is awesome, bathrooms are super clean and staff is great. We have tried a lot of dishes they have and everything has been top notch. The sushi is by far the best I’ve ever had.

One of my pet peeves in Asian restaurants is when they do both Chinese food and sushi — cause i’m always like ‘Hey, guy, pick a cuisine and do it right’, but this place does a really good job on both parts. They’re reasonably priced, they deliver to our house, and their food is way more flavorful than any Chinese food we were getting in Long Beach — sure, I know, that’s not saying much, but their lo mien and fried rice were both excellent. I enjoyed their scallion pancakes, too — which is a delightful little surprise since I haven’t had a good one since I left flushing.
Their rolls are well made, and tasty. They have a decent selection, and they wrap their rolls well, with a good amount of fish (not all rice). I wish they had some of the rolls I used to get at Himiwari, but I’m sure if I request, they’ll make it. They’re always quite friendly on the phone, and they’ve hit their time frame on delivery (or beaten it).

Every time I come here, the food is awesome and the service is great.
The crispy shredded beef is delicious, as well as the miso soup.
The décor and ambiance is also beautiful.

When the delivery guy got there I guess my 2 $ tip wasn’t enough because he said so. I usually give a bit more but I live within walking distance
Also I opened the container and was hit with a fishy smell
It really didn’t smell fresh but I lived to write this review.

New Kanda (I catch myself calling it New Panda every time. Damn rhyming!) is a solid sushi joint. Having dined in as well as had take-​out sushi, both of my experiences were positive ones. Their service is fast and efficient, especially when it comes to picking up my food on the way home from work. I don’t have to wait longer than I’m told. (Which I know is expected but hey sometimes they don’t make it until you actually walk in.) I ordered a Philly Roll (among a few others) and there was a decent amount of salmon to cream cheese ratio. They are pretty generous with their portions of fish in the rolls that I have gotten thus far.
Inside it definitely has that «lounge» feel. With big booths and low, cool lighting it really sets the relaxing mood. Each time I have been here the staff has been nothing but friendly. I look forward to trying their other food items in the future.
