I am extremely disappointed with my experience that I had at the Hair Bar. I called to ask how much balayage would cost and they stated that I should come in for a consult because they cannot tell me a price over the phone. When I got to the salon I was told that half a head of balayage would cost $ 95. I talked to the hairdresser who stated that I shouldn’t go red, it would be a waste of money and to go caramel blonde. When I got to the receptionist to make the appointment I asked again how much everything would cost and she said $ 125. I was completely surprised how fast the price changed in 10 MINUTES. She then said that it was $ 15 for a glaze and $ 15 for the blowout. I stated that I only wanted to be scheduled for the BALAYAGE FOR $ 95. Low and behold I go for my appointment, was taken late, and received unprofessional care. When my color was revealed it was RED, there was no miscommunication, it was discussed that I wanted a blonde color at the consult and I brought a picture! My total came to $ 150. I was charged for a full head even though I had half, for a service that was not what I wanted, and when I tried to talk to the receptionist she didn’t give me the time of day because the person on the phone was more important.
Bottom line, I will not be returning to this business. Do not go here, they tell you one price and then charge you another AND other reviews below are correct when they say the staff is unprofessional. Also, when I called they couldn’t even take responsibility for overcharging me. They asked me to come in so they could look at my hair for the «discrepancy» RIDICULOUS.

PISSED OFF. I’ve been here a couple of times in the past and had great experiences, I even had my hair and makeup done for my wedding party done here! HOWEVER I will never come here again after my last visit. I had blonde baleage highlight put in and I stressed that I did NOT want them to turn out white. She started with the front and foiled my bang section and by the time she was done with my whole head (it was about an hour later) she left them to sit for about fifteen min more. Afterwards I got a blow out. It’s very dark in there so I d didn’t realize until I got home what a horrible job she had done my bangs were bleach white and I don’t complain about anything. But after spending $ 150 I figured what the heck let me call and see what they can do. So they said come back and the girl will fix her mistake. I walk in and everyone is staring at me like I’m wrong for coming back accusing her of making a mistake which she clearly did make. She was so rude about it instead of just saying oh «I made a mistake «i she starts blaming me for saying that’s what I asked for and that everyone likes it lighter in the front. then she put a little bit a hair dye for five minutes washed it out and sent me home. You would think that the owner would come over and console me or say oh don’t worry about it will will fix it but no she just sat there talking.
My hair looks horrible it looks like I try to dye myself at home and failed. She could have just admitted that she made a mistake and that it looked bad and fix the problem now I will never go there ever again. I know a lot of people that go here and I’m going to tell them not to go there anymore. Great job hair bar.

Love this salon! I got my hair done by Dana, color and cut. I absolutely loved it. She really listened to me and can tell she’s so passionate about her work. Friendly and so talented ! Iv been getting compliments all the time. Thank you Dana, will definitely be back !

I’ve been to this salon twice for blow outs and I can assure you that I will never go again. This is not my normal hair salon but due to the $ 20 blowouts I went there both times before weddings. BOTH times I arrived early for my appointments and were taken over 20 minutes late. I understand that sometimes timing is out of your control but come on! I should not have to be at a salon for over an hour for a blow out. The first time they were running so late that I asked to pay before I sat down to save me time at the end– they completely forgot about me. So I pretty much had to wait past my appointment time, and then forgotten about, causing me to be stressed out and late for the wedding I had to go to. The second time the salon switched the stylist to Marlene who clearly has no idea how to do a blow out. She pretty much wrapped each piece of my hair around a metal brush in different directions, lengths, and tightness. When she took the brushes out of my hair I look like a knocked up Sherly Temple with curls that went up to my ears some of which were thick some of which were thin. I then had another girl try to fix my hair which at that point unless they rewashed it the style was ruined. Once again this salon made me late to my event, causing me to miss cocktail hour for the second time. Both times my appointments were around 2pm leaving me over 4 hours to get home, get dressed, and get to my events. They could offer me free blow outs and I wouldn’t go back. Oh and I agree– nasty employees.

Upset I had to even give it 1 star… Had an apt for a blow out… Arrived 10 minutes early… Greeted by the nasty woman behind the counter, told me to come back because I was 10 minutes early and wouldn’t be seen till my appt time. Finally my turn rolls around, and the shampoo girl was soooo rough with my head… I’ve never had a shampooing that actually hurt… Then I was told one stylist was going to do my blow out, and after I get passed around through 3 stylists. My night mare of a blow out begins… She starts by completely ripping out one of my tape in extensions… Telling me they were put in wrong and completely bad mouthing my hair… After they figured out how to put it back in. (Which took 2 more ‘stylists’)… And they still managed to do it wrong… The stylists start talking inappropriately to each other about their night life… And speaking ill of clients they had previously. It was just so inappropriate. They weren’t even friendly.: not one person I’ve dealt with introduced be selves… I had no idea who I was dealing with. I will never go back to this salon, and you shouldn’t either if you know what’s good for your hair. Best part of my appointment was the part where I left. There’s a reason their blow out only cost $ 20… And my blow out looked like something I could of done. So disappointing.

Worst salon ever!!! Lisa is a phony and gives a fake smile when you walk in, but all she cares about is taking your money! She overbooks and lies and says it is the customer’s fault! Blowouts and color r mediocre and salon has absolutely no atmosphere and chairs are so uncomfortable. Most girls there are bitches. The only real stylist is Evelyn and even Evelyn has left this poorly managed salon! Lisa the owner is not even a hair stylist! All her employees wind up leaving there and working somewhere else.

Besides having extremely thick hair and being so lazy I don’t want to blow it out for $ 15 I could go here and get a great blow out by Stephanie. Besides that she’s the sweetest thing she really does a fantastic job. Even better that the blowout last about four days and looks amazing even on day four.

Robin (Robyn) did my hair, took 10 min to section hair off and twist each section, then cut, each section was cut to a different length. All and all, I was there over an hour for med length hair. It is so hard to curl my hair with the curling iron, half the hair falls out because of the uneven haircut. I don’t mind the no-​frills of this salon, but the cut was awful.

Love this place!!! I started going here about 2 years ago to have my hair blown out. I had stitches in both my hands due to an accident and could not wash or blow my hair. They offer $ 15 blow outs and the hair stylists are really amazing. Since finding this hair salon I now also have my color done and also my hair cut here as well. Lexi is great with my color she is nice and sweet and so friendly and she always knows exactly what I need. Amanda now cuts my hair and I have to say that my hair never looked better. She also blows out my hair on a weekly basis. The owners Lisa and Dayna make you feel so welcome and are so friendly. The whole salon has a warm friendly atmosphere. If you are tired of getting ripped off when it comes to hair care this is the place for you!

I was excited to find an alternative to my regular salon in case mine was booked up for a last minute blow out. The owner at the desk was polite and the place was busy and I got a good vibe. I’ve worked in the industry for most of my life in upscale salons so I know what’s what. It’s a small but nice local neighborhood type salon. The stylist Patricia was very sweet and very professional and blew out my hair exactly as I requested. I would give her a very good rating. She asked all the right questions and was very eager to please. However the shampoo assistant needs more training. Both my girlfriend and I had the same assistant and we both had the same experience. She didn’t wet the whole head and I felt like my hair was not clean. I felt like she was washing a damp head rather than a wet one. I also explained to her that I had a ton of product in my hair so it needed a deep cleansing, but my hair is very dry and colored so she should choose a suitable shampoo. In addition she did ask me if I wanted conditioner just in the ends or all over which was nice. I told her all over because my hair is very dry. She applied the conditioner very unevenly and attempted to massage it in which was very nice. She rinsed it properly with cool water. My hair was now still not clean and sort of half conditioned which made the blowout harder for the stylist. The shampoo assistant just needs more training. You can’t send a client to a chair with dirty half conditioned hair. Unfortunately this affected my opinion of the salon and ruined the overall experience. I walked out with dirty but very nicely blown out hair.

Fabulous! 3 of us went there before a wedding. We all had great updos with beautiful makeup. Can’t beat the price! The best.

I was tired of overpaying to get my roots done. Two months ago I had my hair stripped to lighten the color ($ 260) followed by a touch up and blow ($ 110). All done at a diffrent salon. Well I went to blow bar for a root touch up and blow $ 50. Wow what a great deal! Nope not at all. The colorist colored my roots darker than the rest of my head completely ruining my goal of lightening my hair prior. My roots are almost black while the rest is brown with a red tint. During my consult with the colorist I explained what I had done to get the lighter color and she did not listen. she used a darker color and no red tint. So now I’m forced to keep the dark color because I do not want damage or pay for another stripping to lighten the dark color that was used. So many people noticed that my hair was two diffrent colors. Also the colorist was sloppy with the dye. It was in my ears, my cheeks, forehead and I had to ask her to clean it up. I will not step foot in that place again. Lesson learned pay more money and you will get the service you asked for.

WORST PLACE EVER!
The first time I had called in and explained how much of a color mess my hair was. The lady on the phone told me I didn’t need an appointment just come in and hung up. When I came in the woman who seemed to be attending to my hair didn’t even want to fit me into her schedule. Much less the biggest attitude that I had gotten from her which later she apologized for?!

After hearing from Brooke how «she’s the best because she kept telling me over and over again! And had seemed to be on the same page I let her do my hair again. 4 hours later and paying a pretty penny I had told her I don’t like my hair and it wasn’t what we had talked about. But she kept telling me it looks beautiful. That’s besides the point I had walked in and out with the exact same hair!!! It wasn’t anything like the color We had talked about! Her and the other salon ladies kept telling me it’s beautiful and they wouldn’t acknowledge that in the middle of doing my hair they messed up and that it wasn’t what we discussed. They weren’t even willing to fix it they just told me I would have to come back again and pay full price but oh it looks beautiful?! Thank you for ganging up on me and telling me to get out when I told you you suck because it’s the truth and you literally didn’t do anything to my hair except make it a different version of what I walked in with. I am the customer I pay you and I also know what looks good on me and what I want. Your job is to help me and guide me to get to that point! If you mess up acknowledge it. Most salons discount or rectify their mistakes but these women didn’t want to do a thing.
Bottom line worst service with the biggest bitches running a salon in Long Island.

I have never felt so uncomfortable in a salon. I have black hair I get it. My hair is a mess but I went there with hope of fixing it. First I called to double check appointment time, to find out I’m not on the schedule. So they fit me in fine. I get there and Brooke tells me she probably won’t be able to get this out. She applies black to my roots which I didn’t want because I’m trying to get the dark out. She applies some chemicals to my ends. Leaves me looking like I have a beehive on my head. I hear clients talking to hair stylist about who do I think I am, people need to realize they can’t lighten their hair like that, I can’t be like Kim K over night. After sitting there for an hour. They tell me nothing is happening. I get a wash and I am left with all the black dye all over my ears and face. So they say you want anything else. Yea! I need a cut like I asked for. Sitting there for 15 minutes no one wanted to cut my hair. Brooke was coloring someone else hair. I decided I had enough and left with wet dripping hair. I have never been treated this way. I will never come here again.

First time client. I called and made an appointment. I ended up having to reschedule the appointment and the woman who answered the phone was very polite and have me no issues. Had my hair cut with amanda tonight. I got an asymmetrical long bob. Amanda did great. It was perfect length when she was done and blowout was nice. Friendly staff overall… very busy salon. Price waa very reasonable.

I’m in town just for the weekend, I have a wedding to attend and I needed an updo. A friend of mine recommended this place. I cannot believe how amazing my hair looks. $ 50 for an absolutely stunning updo, done in half an hour. Jenn is an artist and I cannot say enough good things.

Having tried other salons in the area that where over priced. A friend recommended the Hair Bar. The staff is very nice and accommodating. They are not snobby as you sometimes find in other salons. Evelyn and Brooke have both cut and colored my hair. They are excellent !! Also, love the fact that you don’t have to pay an extra fee to have your hair blown out after it is cut.

this place has a very cool NYC vibe. I went in after I made a mess of my hair with an at home hair color. I was given beautiful high lights at a reasonable price, which changed my whole blah look.

This place has the whole package. Great prices, great staff and clean atmosphere. The salon is beautiful and the hair artists are well trained. I called in for an appointment on the same day and got one easily. I showed her picture of what I wanted and She mimicked it very well. My hair looks great and it was a pleasant experience!

As a new client here I was very nervous to try a different salon but, i was 110% satisfied with my hair and with their customer service! the minute you open the door the owner lisa greets you with a big smile! all of the girls here were
pleasant and friendly to me which made me more comftorable! i got an awesome blowout and will now be going back for my cuts/​color! while relaxing during my blow out i was admiring all the talented stylists work! fear
