This place is wonderful! Absolutely the best. Owner Lena has made this new location a truly wonderful experience. The new massage chairs are so comfortable. All of the girls do a fantastic job. Lena, Helen, Hong, Holly, and all the rest. You will feel completely pampered. I recently moved to Texas and have returned on 2 business trips back to the bay area, and thankfully have gotten in to get the complete service here. Thank you Lena for always making my visit special. 10STARS if they were available!

So bummed about my first experience here. The foot bath water was cold even after I told her I liked it hot it still was luke warm. She started by gently scrubbing my heals and they are still rough, I’ll have to redo them when I get home. She did not push back my cuticles but just went through the motions(so weird). Then she burnt me with the lotion. I wasn’t offered a water until after my service was complete. It’s a beautiful salon but the service was not up to par with the décor. I won’t be returning unfortunately because it’s right down the street it would have been nice to have a decent neighborhood nail salon, but unfortunately it’s just like every other cheap nail salon I’ve ever been to. I’ll stick with my lady in Redwood Shores. She pricier but, is so good!

I used to go to this shop when it was in San Carlos and it was always good so I went to try the new place out. It’s really nice inside, decorated nicely but my shellac manicure was horrible. I went a week ago just before my vacation, within 4 days a couple of my nails started bubbling. Now I have chips on every finger no two nails without polish because it lifted and peeled and I’m still on vacation! It looks terrible and embarrassing! Not very happy especially since the place is expensive. I won’t be going back. Go to Eros just down the block, much better job, lasts much longer and a lower price.

First impression was this is a beautiful nail spa. I was referred here by a friend. the price was $ 30 for a pedicure, The Signature pedi(according to the brochure I was handed) includes trim, filing, cuticle and exfoliating. They throw in a hot stone with the massage which was a nice bonus. The reason for one star is my nails were not trimmed but slightly filed which means my big toes will be rubbing against the inside of my shoe. And the technician cut the inside corner off of my left big toe nail for no reason. I complained at the front desk. the receptionist charged me for a gel treatment by mistake and was apologetic. However I have to look at that weird toe till I can get another pedi. Inexcusable for a higher priced standard pedicure. Last impression: not going back.

First impression good, lasting impression… never coming back! The new location looks really great but it’s still the same poorly done service. I got a gel mani pedi a few days before heading for vacation and before I even left I had chips on several fingers. When you pay $ 80 to get your nails done you expect them to last more than 3 days! There really is no excuse, I’ve had regular polish last longer than that. I called to see about a refund but the manager wasn’t there and I had to leave that day so I had to call it a loss. Please don’t go and waste your money here! They were awful when they were in San Carlos and they are still awful at their new location in Belmont!

This review is for my lash extensions. I will be writing a different one of utter praise about my eyebrow lady later. I came to get my lashes filled after I had gotten them done elsewhere. The salon is just gorgeous and really clean. The girl at the front desk is always so nice and had my lash lady waiting for me when I arrived. The process took about an hour and was relaxing. Once I opened my eyes, I saw gorgeous thick full lashes and was in love! The only reason I took away a star is because a little bit too much glue was used and on occasion gets stuck to my bottom lashes which is slightly annoying but I can live with that. I believe the lady that did them was names Linda or Lisa? She was super sweet and very accommodating. Come here to do your lashes just ask for less glue :)

It’s a nice place and the blonde lady in front is the nicest out of all of them. A lady did my lashes and was in a rush. Always makes personal phone calls or texts while doing lashes when she’s not supposed to be. This was the first time I’ve went back in to get my lashes refilled and didn’t notice until I left that my lashes were uneven and she only added very few of them. The first time I’ve had my lashes done they were fuller and longer. It’s called a refill, I’m supposed to get them refilled to how they first were, not only 40 percent. They just look like my regular lashes when I asked for the fullest set they have but whatever. She isn’t a bad person but she definitely should be doing her job right and I should be getting what I paid for.

I came in for a quick spray tan before a wedding I was attending out of town and first Impressions got the job done perfectly in only a matter of minutes. Maybe 8 minutes from start to finish including undressing and dressing time and the custom airbrush was professional and pretty darn pleasant. I would definitely come back to try their nail services, too. I like the amenities of the spray tan room where they offer you disposable underwear to wear during your spray so you can remain the tiniest bit modest and not have to get spray tan gunk on your own goods. The woman who sprayed me was so nice and I felt totally comfortable right away. She chose a more natural tan on me which was a good decision and as it sounds, very natural looking. It lasted fully for about 3 ½ to 4 days and then faded away pretty naturally. This might not have been the case had I done and hardcore working out but with light activity it lasted better than most spray tans I’ve gotten. One spray tan runs $ 45 but you can get a package of 3 for 90, essentially getting one free, which a deal I’d recommend for anyone who might want to be tan on the regular.

Linda did a great job on my nails. I go throw waves of short/long, dark/light, coffin/square like most mood and seasonal changes. The place is beautiful! I love the atmosphere and everyone is very polite. It does annoy me when customers and employees are talking on their phone(doesn’t happen often) because First Impressions has a spa feel & you’re ruining my vibe w/your loud gab. Oh well, I still go back! The pedicures are relaxing in Spa Chairs! I am in heels all day and sneakers most nights. So I have some rough spots and some tender spots. Make sure you’re specific about what those«spots» are so they can work it out. Otherwise you will leave not 100% satisfied. Really excited for hand air brush! I loath the booths. Also the lash extensions look amazing and feel real!

The new location is so beautiful and glamorous. You walk into a very clean and organized salon, which is always a great.(not to mention the location is super convenient!) My go to technician has always been Lena! She knows all of her clients by first name and takes so much pride in her work! I’ve never had a bad experience at first impressions, all of their services are great. Highly recommended

Julie is amazing with my nails! She knows exactly what she is doing! She’s so good that you must make an appointment to see her! You won’t be let down, I promise! Tina did my pedicure and she is very thorough and amazing at it! Definitely recommend this place! And I got a spray tan and that was amazing also! The lady was off on the day I needed my tan and with just one phone call from the owner, she came in just for me! Great place to get pampered all the way around!!!

Got eyelash extensions exactly three weeks ago. I love the look however I had to go back the next day because all the lashes in corner of my left eye seemed to be gone and I felt like they were sticking me in the eye and so itchy(I never itch my eyes though! Big no no). When I went in Linda said usually they make people pay but it had only been a day so I’m not sure why they would charge to fix them. She quickly fixed them and at the end I felt and heard scissors. I was a little freaked she cut my bottom lashes and when I asked her she said no. Well she had. Cutting my natural lashes seemed crazy to me and I haven’t gotten over that one. I got the feeling she was annoyed I came back and wasn’t interested in making it a good experience for me. I called today to make an appointment with Vanessa, the other woman who does lashes. I told the woman on the phone I wasn’t very happy the first time around but I’d like to try Vanessa. The woman on the phone said Vanessa will let me know the cost but if I’m unhappy maybe I should go somewhere else. WTH? First of all on the flyer it says: 2 weeks $ 55 fill, 3 weeks $ 65 fill, second do they not want my business? I’m so confused. She continued to tell me how great and professional everyone there is. I don’t think it’s very professional for her to be defensive. They seem to lack in customer service. We’ll see how tomorrow goes and maybe I can update with more stars…

I had a great gel manicure here, but a pretty unpleasant experience with eyelash extensions. I have a latex allergy, and after getting the eyelash extensions I knew something was wrong. The discomfort level was extreme. After a few hours, the burning and itching led me to believe that I was having an allergic reaction to the glue. I called the salon, explained my situation but they could only offer me a removal appointment in two days time. I took Benadryl and just dealt with the discomfort for two days. After getting the lashes removed and feeling only a little relief, I realized after the appointment that all she did was remove the lashes and not the glue. I had to call back again and firmly explain that the entire problem was the glue, and that I had to go back AGAIN so the job could be finished. To make matters worse, I was charged a removal fee and I was made to feel like the whole situation was my fault somehow. No one offered me the ingredient list of the glue, no one offered me any sort of real apology or sympathy. I’m frankly appalled at the customer service I received. This service is not cheap, and I wasted $ 140 and my time. I should have been reimbursed, or at least not charged a removal fee. I still don’t know exactly what it was that I reacted to in the glue, and the lack of care on the part of the staff I found to be disturbing and distressing. Update: I was so upset about the lash glue and customer service experience that I forgot to mention that a huge chunk of the lashes on the outer corner of my lower lash line were CUTOFF. A few weeks later and I’m still horrified.

I have been going to First Impression Nail Salon for about 4 years, and they recently moved their location from San Carlos to Belmont. The new location is so beautiful and has such a great feel. It’s so pretty and peaceful inside. It feels like a nice retreat for me during the day. The ladies that work there are all so sweet, and I love that when you come regularly they make every effort to know your name, and get to know you in general. I have found that they are always consistent in giving great mani/pedi’s, something that I have not found to be true at other salons. I would definitely recommend this place.
