Had a fantastic experience taking my bike in. James Jewetts is a great guy who does meticulous, careful work. My Ducati was a mess, I ride 50 miles a day and a lot of grime, dirt and grease had collected on my machine after a year of not cleaning it; after the detail it looked like it just rolled off the lot. I can’t say enough good things. Not only am I incredibly impressed with the detailing, James is one of the coolest guys around. He does mostly custom conversions now and I’m definitely planning on bringing my next bike to back here.

How can I possibly say how fantastic James Jewitt is?
I purchased a used bike in Santa Cruz, and it was clear it needed a bit of a bath and a couple of small repairs. After reading the Unilocal reviews, I called James on a SUNDAY in the hopes I might be able to drop it off. My voicemail to him was garbled and he couldn’t catch the last couple of numbers of my phone number — James and his wife called or texted every number combination unti they got hold of me — WOW!
I dropped off the bike, and James took it to the mechanic, had it fixed, picked it up and brought it back to his house, where he did a first-​rate detailing job. The bike looks amazing. When I picked it up, we discovered an electrical problem, and James lent me his own car so I could buy a replacement battery from Cycle Gear down the street. I couldn’t be more impressed with how gracious he was.
James is a man of pride in his work and integrity in his dealings. If you spend any time with him, it’s clear by the number of people who drop by and say hello or honk and wave as they drive past that he’s a pillar of the community. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend James fully.

Hired James in December, 2011, to detail my motorcycle after it had received some paint overspray. I dropped the bike off at his business at around 10a.m. and he called me at 2p.m., the same day telling me he was finished. As I was a few miles away from his shop and had no transportation he drove to my house, picked me up and took me back to my motorcycle.
The detailing to the motorcycle was fantastic. For that matter, the motorcycle looked better than when I bought it new from the dealership.
James’ work is excellent and his prices are reasonable. Would I use him again, YOU BET!

My 1996 H-​D had sat in the garage for over year and was dusty, dirty and starting to show signs of corrosion. It came back looking like it had just come from the showroom. I coud not have been more pleased!

James was very courteous when I called him to schedule the detailing of my bike. He was flexible in meeting the date and time I asked for. He picked up my motorcycle with boot marks on it in the morning and brought it back same day with a clean and shiny state. I’m really pleased with the job and recommend him to anyone who wants to have their motorcycle detailed. I’ll call him again once I get back from my 2000 mile road trip in September.

After riding 2300 miles from the Bay to Utah and back, every forward-​facing surface of my bike was caked in dirt and squashed bug, while tree sap from a poor choice in parking spots literally glued crud solid to every inch of the bike. Not having a power washer, I searched for a bike detailer and found James Jewett’s information on Unilocal.Not only is he an incredibly friendly guy, he’s also a magician at detail work. Dropped my bike off with him and four hours later he had my filthy machine looking better than it had when I first bought it. Chrome is gleaming, the engine is spotless, the windshield is clean enough to eat off of – he even cleaned my saddle bags! My bike looks so nice I can’t wait to get back on the road and get it grunged up again. Totally worth the small outlay in cash, very happy with the results and will absolutely use his services again in the future as well as recommend him to my local buddies.

He is a motorcycle mechanic by trade during the day, but in his off hours he runs his detailing business. James will even get into the nooks and crannies with his dremel polishing tool. Beautiful work plus, get this, he will come to your house and trailer your bike down to his garage if you can’t drop it off yourself.
