Boutique photography offering custom maternity, newborn & child portraiture. Specializing in custom newborn sessions.

Newborn sessions take place in my studio located in Belmont. The session lasts about 3 hours, but please leave room in your schedule to give us some wiggle room. Sessions typically start at 10AM. Once you arrive you can look through and pick out some of my headbands, hats & props to be used in your session in addition to the ones I will have picked out myself. Pack extra diapers, milk (if bottle feeding), and a pacifier. We will take breaks for baby as needed. They usually tend to eat more on the day of their big photo shoot. We will have a great time and things will be relaxed.

History

Established in 2009.

I’ve been photographing newborns & children since 2009. This is my passion in life. At that very first newborn session I fell in love with being apart of something so amazing as photographing newborns during those first 2 weeks of life and giving parents beautiful photographs to last a lifetime and to leave a legacy.

In the beginning I was an on location photographer, but found I could offer my clients a better service by photographing newborns and babies in studio. So, in 2012 I opened up a studio in San Carlos. I have since move one mile up the road which puts my new location in Belmont. This is where I have an abundance of newborn hats, headband and props for newborns, babies & children).

Hello,

I’m Kristin Troyer, a boutique photographer & the business owner of Kristin Troyer Photography in San Carlos.

I offer custom newborn, maternity, & child portraits sessions and specialize in the art of newborn portraiture. I look forward to customizing sessions for each of my clients and creating beautiful photographic art that can my displayed in their homes, on their walls, in albums, and cherished for a lifetime.

A little more about me…

I’m a wife, and mom. I’ve loved photography since I was a teenage, but didn’t start seriously with it until 2009 when I fell in love with photographing newborns.

I’m the creative type and enjoy all forms of arts & crafts. I love the color purple, but pink & purple are a close second! I love the smell of coconut & vanilla! and spiders REALLY freak me out! I’m addicted to collecting props. Thank goodness I have a studio to store them, I have over 450+ hats and headbands, 60+ blankets & backdrops, baskets, buckets ect.

We just had an amazing experience with Kristin !!! She did our maternity photoshoot and then our son’s newborn session. Her eye for detail, creativity and talent is immeasurable. I was so nervous about the newborn session and she totally put me at ease and worked like a magician with our son. She will help you choose props based on colors you want and put it all together in such a wonderful way that when you look at the end product, you will be so happy.
We just absolutely loved the pictures and even 3 months later are raving about her to our friends. She works really hard to get the look you want and takes her time to make sure everything is perfect. We also ordered birth announcements and mini albums from her and have received so many compliments from people who have received it.
I would highly recommend Kristin for both the maternity photoshoot which was absolute fun and the newborn sessions.

Highly recommend Kristin Troyer photography! She has photographed my kids several times for different occasions and they always come out amazing, as well as my maternity pictures both times! Kristin took my maternity and newborn photos. I loved the props and poses she had. She was willing to work with us to do pretty much anything we wanted. She really went above and beyond what she needed to do in both sessions. In my maternity session, my son was having none of it. She offered to reschedule at a time when he would be more cooperative. So many people would have just said that was the session and too bad. She did something similar for our newborn session when the baby wouldn’t pose in the poses we wanted. Kristin is incredibly patient and kind. I hope to schedule again with her for the 1 year old pictures.

Kristin did my maternity and newborn photos for my second child. We were very happy with the results of both sessions. Kristin is equally talented in creating beautiful outdoor and also studio photos. Her prices are fair and the quality is exceptional. I have been told too many times to count that the birth announcement Kristin created is the most adorable anyone has ever seen. During both sessions she displayed an endless amount of patience and knew how to roll with the punches while working with my toddler. We truly treasure our photos and plan on using Kristin as our photographer again in the near future.

I knew I always wanted to have my child photographed when she was born, and I was considering having maternity pictures taken of me too. But only if I found the right person and the right deal. I inquired around a lot but I wasn’t happy with any of the offers I found. I was beginning to think that I wouldn’t be able to get the photos done until I received a postcard from Kristen Troyer’s photography. The packages were everything I was looking for, so I left a message for her to get back to me. Her response time was very quick! I told her I wasn’t sure that I wanted to do maternity photos because I was feeling self conscious about my baby weight, but she understood how I felt and was very kind and encouraging and helped me to see that it was normal to feel that way. But with such a small window of opportunity in such a special time in my life that I should just go ahead and take the photos so that I didn’t have any regrets. I was nervous to see the final results, but once I saw her photos all doubts were erased. Krisitn’s work was amazing and super flattering! After that I couldn’t wait to have my little one captured by her because I knew it would be a work of art. Her studio was easy to find, very nice, and she was so gentle and kind to my little one. I saw some of the pictures she was taking, and I got teary eyed because of how special they looked. Her turn around time was just as she promised and not a minute later. My husband who wasn’t exactly on board with me getting professional photos done later told me, «It was worth every penny.» Thank you Kristen for making a special moment in our lives so magical!

I worked with Kristin for newborn pictures and couldn’t wait to post a review. I had no idea the level of planning and patience required to get these beautiful sleeping baby pics. I was super impressed — Kristin is a pro! She’s really a baby whisperer when it comes to soothing a baby and getting them in the perfect pose. She’s also extremely patient, working with your family through multiple feedings and blowouts. Not to mention she has an extensive collection of adorable baby props. Will definitely be using Kristin for more family photography!

Kristin has photographed for me on many occasions over the years. She has taken my junior prom pictures, yearly pictures of my fiancé and I, my engagement pictures, pictures of my fiancés rather large family, and many other occasions. She always has a great location in mind for whatever the occasion and she is very patient, friendly, and open to your ideas. I am always so happy with the way the pictures come out and the way she manages to capture such special moments in my life. I worked with Kristen twice last year. She took my maternity photos and my newborn photos. Kristen is very professional and I loved how all of our pictures turned out. I had a specific «princess and the pea» picture I wanted completed for my newborn and Kristin was more then happy to complete it. Not to mention she was super patient because she was photographing our newborn and dog.
If you wanting professional pictures, I would recommend Kristin you won’t be disappointed.

Kristin has done 2 of our sessions, one for maternity and one for our 3-​month old baby. Both were pretty demanding as I wanted to have special poses and shots I found over the internet. She matched my expectations 100% and worked with us full of patience and passion! We also had a puppy during one of the session and the pics came out stunning! Kristin made us all feel really comfortable during our family photo shoot. We have some wonderful photos for our house, some to send to the Grandparents, and some we used for our Christmas cards. The Christmas cards were easy-​we chose the photo and picked out the card we wanted on line. Kristin delivered them to our doorstep in time to send them out for Christmas.
