At Mathnasium we help kids learn math in a way that makes sense to them. We offer both remediation and enrichment programs that make math fun and engaging. Through an extensive assessment system we identify weak areas and build individualized learning plans that cater to each child’s needs. Our goal is to significantly increase children’s math skills, understanding of math concepts, and overall school performance, while building confidence and forging a positive attitude toward the subject.

History

Established in 2013.

Mathnasium was founded in 2002 and has grown rapidly to become one of the most successful and fastest growing supplemental education companies in the country with over 450 centers across North America. Mathnasium of Fresh Pond opened at the end of 2013, and serves Belmont, Cambridge, Arlington, Watertown and surrounding communities.

Hello, I’m Michael, Center Director at Mathnasium of Fresh Pond. Thank you for considering our Mathnasium Math Learning Center.

I decided to open a Math Learning Center after many years in the international business world. I have always loved math and know from personal experience how the right help and encouragement can really change children’s lives. I now want to give children struggling with math an opportunity to overcome their difficulties and learn to enjoy math as much as I do.

I was attracted to Mathnasium because the Mathnasium Method and Curriculum teaches math from the bottom up in a way that is fun and rewarding for the child. I was impressed by how students come away from Mathnasium with a fundamental understanding of how math works and the ability to apply that knowledge to solving even unfamiliar problems.

I look forward to inviting you and your child to the Fresh Pond Center.

Michael and the staff at Mathnasium are wonderful at making math approachable and easy to grasp. My child walked away from a year of going three times a week always cheerful and looking forward to the sessions and infinitely more confident in her math skills and ability.

My son likes going here and loves the math games. I am happy since I don’t have to be after him about homework (there is none) and since he wants to go I don’t have the extra stress typically associated with going somewhere that he rely does not want to go to. You know how kids delay, delay, delay? The reward/​prize structure also works as a strong motivation for my son.

I highly recommend Mathnasium of Fresh Pond! Michael, the owner/​director has been wonderful to work with and I’ve been impressed with all the instructors. In the six months we’ve been with the program, Mathnasium has filled in key knowledge/​skill gaps for my middle school-​aged daughter. In particular, her mental math has improved dramatically. I’ve been so happy with the program that I recently signed up my high school student as well. Here’s what I like most about Mathnasium: First, all work is completed at the Center with no homework. Even the school textbooks are available at the Center (for current homework help). So the kids don’t need to take anything there or bring anything home and there’s nothing for me to keep track of or remind them about. Second, my kids received customized learning plans based on written assessments that identified their strengths and weaknesses. I feel confident they are working on just the right topics at Mathnasium.
