Giving 5 stars for: BEST bartenders EVER (Misha and Leon!!!), space, eclectic crowd and affordability. Good place to host an event and mingle with friends.
4 stars for: food; it’s decent considering it’s bar food. The entrees for specialty tastings are even better. Service can stagger if it’s really busy. Try the taters, yummy.
Tip: be sure to check the event sched as they have themed nights so the crowd can vary greatly and/​or entrance fee is required.

There’s usually a pretty good crowd here, Wednesdays I can usually guarantee it gets busy for karaōke with Sam Marshall. He also does Thursday nights.
The guy definitely knows music. He has a great sound system and I like how he takes our pictures like were famous or something.
That guy has a pretty good following .
He also has a band here that plays here often.
The bar is really big they also have a huge patio.
SOmetimes when they have a lot of bands playing here they’ll have one playing outside and inside both at the same time.
The bartenders are pretty hot here too.
The pool table is really nice with a fresh patch of greenery.
Parking is excellent.
The root beer beer is my latest favorite here.
They have plenty of beers on tap tho.

If negative stars could be given this establishment would have many. Start with the appetizer that were obviously frozen and just heated up. Restroom was filthy. Service was below average. As for our lunch again not tasty and most of the items did not resemble being freshly cooked. To add to this, the restaraunt contracted with
to do marketing for them. When we attempted to use the certificate we purchased for this marketing this establishment contracted for, they rejected it and it was the sole reason that brought us there. 1 good thing about the certificate is that we know never to go back there and hopefully will warn many others. Be prewarned.

Cozy, fun atmosphere. Friendly bartenders! Stiff Drinks! Great food!

My son participates in Kung Fu across the street. One day, I was hungry and so I walked over to St. James Gate for a meal. Their food is decent, the drinks are good, the staff is helpful and the regulars are friendly. It’s a nice local spot.

love this place! so friendly and cozy. good food, fast serving. great music. definitely one of the great places to spend Saturdays in positive atmosphere.

Slow day here but a big place. Food came out quick & is tasty. Only one waitress /​bartender working but once we got going it’s a good spot. Old school spot with a big patio. Probably a hot spot when it’s busy.

I love St. James Gate for the following reasons:
–Affordable and well made drinks (Duncan makes the best moscow mules in all the peninsula, at least in my opinion)
–Awesome live bands
–Great renovated backyard patio with lots of fire pits, ping pong table, and more
–Indoor and outdoor bar. They open up the outdoor bar on busier nights
–Very friendly and efficient bartenders
–Pool table
–Lots of tv’s inside and outside
–Great beer selection
–Spacious and homey feel to it, especially the patio
What to know:
–Usually a $ 5 cover on busy nights
–Only 2 bathroom stalls
–Plenty of parking across the street
–Dress code is mostly casual, but people can dress it up as well
–People of all ages
–If you’re from the peninsula you’re bound to run into someone you know

If you love awesome bloody Mary’s and good eats than this is your place. First visit DESIRAE blew me away with her awesome bloody mix from scratch and awesome customer service.
Ordered burger with egg and fries and was delicious. Definitely will be coming here for my weekend bloody.

Super badass bartender named Desiree who whips up the best Bloody Mary in the Bay Area (bacon on top). I defiantly would recommend you to stop by on a Saturday morning and enjoy this awesome Bloody Mary.

I’m 100% disgusted! I was at the outside bar and asked the bar back if food was still being served. He grabs a waitress and she informs me, they are serving until midnight. I order and let her know I will be at the table that’s reserved near the ping pong table. So a few minutes later I notice she brings a plate of food over the the opposite side of where I’m sitting. Figuring that the individuals sitting there ordered before me. She then brings me a bill. So I just figured she was trying to get things done quickly. NOPE she comes back notices I hadn’t paid and my cousin let’s her know I haven’t gotten my food yet why am I being asked to pay? She then says I brought the food, looks to the opposite side of the table (where mind you people are eating MY food) she grabbed the plate (which was half eaten) brings it to me and says «it’s ok no one touched it.» I wish I could show you a picture but I have plenty of witnesses who can attest to the fact that I have a plate of 8 fries and 2 full pieces of chicken and ¾ eaten piece (I ordered chicken tenders and fries). THEN proceeded to tell me I didn’t have to pay for the order! NO APOLOGY NO OFFER TO REPLACE MY MY FOOD, NOTHING!!!

I always love St James Gate. They have great food. All natural and healthy and delicious For a bar. Outside seating area, outside smoking area and lots of entertainment. Including putting golf. Live bands and karaōke some nights. The owner and staff is amazing and very friendly.

A restaurant bar you must visit

A great bar nearby my home and love its atmosphere! Lots of different kinds of people come by here to grab a drink, have some food, or socialize with others. They have a lot of drinks to choose from and their food is pretty good here. What I like about this place is that it has a pool table inside and a ping pong table outside to which you and your friends can play at. The outside patio is really nice at night, as it has those gas fire pits to hang around and it looks nice!
The only issue I had was that the waiter didn’t get food order correctly and had to ask me again what was my order was after I told her. Perhaps a better way to order is needed. Other than that, I really enjoyed the place and I would come back to again with friends.

Went on Sunday to check out salsa band and dancing. People there were friendly and were having a great time. However, the bartenders outside were such Jerks. They were so rude to my friends. My friends just went to bar inside to order from friendlier bartenders. That totally killed my vibe and probably wouldn’t go out of my way to go back.

I had no idea this place existed. Tucked away on Old County Rd. in Belmont is this bar. Went on a Saturday night. There was a $ 5 cover, live music, people of all ages, and the space is actually pretty big. They have indoor and outdoor space which is nice. The music was fun, it kept my slightly drunk friends dancing and singing (awkwardly I might add) all night. Also, bacon wrapped jalepeno poppers… I mean that alone is reason enough to hit this place up. Fun was had. A return is definite.

stopped by to watch the Monday night Football Game. I have not been in here in a few years and was so Amazed how much it has changed. The owner Doug has pride in his business and it shows.
Inside and outside Patio is so beautiful and the food was Delicious!!! Their menu has a little bit of everything on it.
Bartenders were so awesome and I would recommend this place to everyone.

A great bar that’s basically in the middle of nowhere.
I was driving to the pub to go to my friend’s birthday party. While in route I was sure my GPS was wrong because I was driving through a super industrial area, but all of the sudden, bam. There she was.
I walk in looking for the group in weird costumes (her bday was Hunger Games themed) and was surprised when I walked up to two groups that weren’t mine. (One pirate themed, and one… idk…pimps and burlesque?)
When I found my actual group I had a blast. The bar had great drinks. Great food. Ping pong. A tiny putting green…
There was also a live band. They were great. And their night owl set was a real hoot! (Their pun, not mine).
So if you want to go to a pub in a really random spot, dress up like anything your heart desires, and have a blast… head on over!

Went here to meet a friend for happy hour after work. IT was pretty dead on the inside and I had no idea if I could sit or what to do. There was no hostess. There was a band setting up.
I eventually made it to the bar and ordered a drink and food from there and I realized that is where the ordering takes places and they will bring it out to you.
I got the hot dog which really wasnt a hot dog but slices of brat inside a baguette bun. It was okay, but wasn’t anything special. I also got the garlic bread which was pretty nasty to be honest. I was starving and had to resort to some sort of food.
My friend waited a really long time for her beer after we went to go sit outside (there is more seating outside and a bar outside as well that wasn’t open at the time).
I don’t know if I would go back.

I’ve only been here like a handful of times and I love it here. Thank you for being close to work :)

Parking is difficult though. The bathrooms aren’t that great either. Other than that, nothing I can complain.

Came here with my work for a team happy hour/​celebration to watch the World Cup. Pretty hard to find parking on the street as it is in a empty road in the middle of no where. That’s exactly how I’d describe the location of this pub. There’s a huge indoor area with the bar and a pool table as well as a beautiful outdoor patio with a pingpong table. Bathrooms are fancier and wayyy cleaner than what you’d expect from a bar. I’d come back again just to see what it’s like not during the day and not with coworkers.
Drinks: Drinks were bomb! maybe it was because we had an open tab. I got the gimlet. Pretty strong and sweet. Most of my coworkers got their beers on tap and the Moscow mule.
Food: My company ordered platters of buffalo wings, cheese fries topped with bacon, potato skins and nachos. They also have burgers, tator tots, and fries, etc. Typical bar food, but when you’re hungry, it’s soooo good!
