Everything is sub par. I don’t know why this place was crowded. Must be the cheap special. I had the chimichanga because I was like… who could fuck up a chimichanga. Well, this place can. The«meat» inside the thing looked just as disgusting as it tasted. Service was, meh… Food was, meh… Chips and salsa… meh I can’t say a good thing about this place to be honest. Please don’t waste your money here. In fact the only people eating here are old… which I’m guessing are residents of Benbrook and have been eating here since the place opened. They’re lucky Benbrook doesn’t have any other restaurants in the old boring town.

They changed their chips recently and definitely not for the better. We have been coming here since High school in the mid-70s and their chips used to be really good. Now they are thin and flavorless. We have complained about them every time we have been there recently. They are so bad we just don’t want to go there anymore.

Food was mediocre. Service was terrible. Margaritas taste like they are cheap premixed with little or no alcohol. My experience pretty much two stars.

It had been 10 years since I last went to Pulidos, and I pass by it all the time. I suppose I had forgotten why I didn’t go there, but anyways I remembered why. I love authentic Mexican food, which this is no where near authentic. I could get more authenticity from going to Taco Bell, which I should have done, it would have been cheaper, and I wouldn’t have been left feeling like I got ripped off. Anyways, I ordered the fajita for two for almost $ 30, and got this tiny helping of sizzling meat and onions, with an even smaller helping of watery beans and bad rice. It looked like a helping for 1 person at any other restaurant. The fajita meat(skirt steak) was cut wrong and only had salt and pepper for taste. For a restaurant of this caliber I could out cook them any day of the week, and for a lot less. I will not be returning, and it is officially on my «Do Not Go» List Again.

The positive here was our waiter who was very attentive and polite. The food was marginal at best but the giant roach on the wall crawling around during dinner is why this place is only getting a 1 star.

I have been here many times. Yes there are better Mexican restaurants in the area but the food has always been good. The service is great. I recommend the Chili Rellenos myself. Great place for a family weekend dinner.

I’ve been to plenty of run-of-the-mill Tex-Mex/Mexican food restaurants, and as long as the chips and salsa are on point, then I can forgive a bland or uninteresting entrée(I LOVE chips and salsa, is what I’m saying here). The chips and salsa at this Pulido’s were terrible in a way that is difficult to define. Pair that with the disappointing entrees my husband and I ordered, and that’s a recipe for«I won’t be back». From the looks of the other reviews, this was not an isolated incident.

I have visited the various Pulido’s Restaurants throughout the area and have to eat at one that I enjoyed. First, Mexican restaurant with foul tasting salsa. Greasy chips — and that is just the free stuff. I don’t like going to a Mexican restaurant that is just a basically a big Taco Bell… Only exception is I might visit a Taco Bell again. I know this is a landmark/staple of the area but sometimes that beloved horse needs to be put down and out of it misery.

The Possums will eat almost anything, especially if it has chili on it, but we were very disappointed with the lack of quality. I’m sad to report that our food was substandard. The filling in the beef enchiladas was mushy like the weird filling in cheap Jack and the Box tacos. Not palatable at all. The arroz con pollo was passable, but the chicken was bland and rubbery. Overall, not a good experience. We won’t be back. PS The waitstaff was friendly.

The place needs a good scrubbing its terribly dirty. The drinking cups smell of mildew all of them, the Dr pepper is always flat. The wait staff is wonderful though they make sure you are well taken care of.

I live in like walking distance of this place and it’s always packed so I thought I’d try it out. Not sure why though, this place had BLAND food. The salsa tastes like cocktail sauce, which sucks because if it tasted better I could have used it to add flavor to my chicken enchiladas. I would rather drive all the way to Burleson to eat at Fresco’s. Also, the service was pretty bad.

Dark interior and needs modernizing, but overall food is good. Ask for Manuel the Manager and tell him your are a fan. Get the Margarita on the rocks, top shelf. Outdoor patio needs updating, but overall not a bad place to hang out with friends/family. It’s better than spending a lot more such as Uncle Julio’s and Cantina Laredo.(btw, I do like their food too, just more expensive)

We went to Pulido’s yesterday for the first time since I was very little. When we walked in, my mom said, «Oh right. Now I remember why we stopped coming here. It’s too dark.» Although it was a bright, sunny, warm afternoon, the restaurant was very dark and cold. It was not exceptionally inviting at all. But we were already inside, so we took a seat. The salsa is not great. It is VERY heavy on the tomato and light on the spice. I don’t usually like a very spicy salsa, but this was like dipping my chip in a can of tomato sauce. There was no flavor, no «kick» to the salsa. I ordered the Arroz con Pollo. It was unbelievably dry. The chicken chunks just sat on the rice and there was no blend to the meal. It came with a side of guacamole [not fresh] and a tostada with queso. The splat of queso was the saving grace of my plate although visually, not pretty. My dad ordered the Mexican Dinner. He barely ate any of it, and he usually has a pretty good appetite. My mom fared the best out of the three of us with the Carne de Puerco Con Chile Colorado. She let me taste it and the pork was tender and the seasonings were very good. Her side of fried potatoes were not very flavorful, but the pork made up for it. Luckily, we all enjoyed the flour tortillas. I don’t think we’ll be returning to this restaurant.

We have been going to Pulidos for several years. The food and service is great and they have really yummy tamales, I just wish it was a little brighter in there. Manual the manager is always friendly.

This Pulido’s has been open for nearly 50 years. It is tough to beat the Papa Pulido. Wednesday night is the Enchilada/Taco Night special.

I love this place. Have been going there since I was a kid. True Tex-Mex, not fancy, but always consistant. Now that I live in NH, I really miss it!

Had better Mexican food in Mississippi than this close to Mexico, would give it –5 stars if I could

I was disappointed. My husband was super excited to return to the restaurant, after 15 years. He was let down more than me. My puffy taco shells had probably been sitting around for days. Stale. Beans and rice were bland. There are too many other great Mexican food places around here for me to give this one another chance.

Salsa and chips were good. Margarita was great. Service was OK. Food was not so good. Hubby has chicken mole’ and loved it but I had combo#2(cheese enchiladas and taco) which was nothing special. Overall it was OK but I will not return.

I had the Beef Fajita’s and they were tough and chewy, probably as bad as I have had in Texas. Homemade tortillas were good, Margarita was so so and so were the chips. 12 bucks for the Fajita’s.
