Stopped here while visiting family in the area. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Loved the mini-​cocktails and especially the Bloody Mary mix. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed the free tasting and tour, and bought two cocktails. We ended up buying several items as gifts, and one bottle for us to take home. Definitely worth the drive from Bend. Very friendly staff.

Awesome bloody mary’s and I don’t usually care for them. Bought bottles of the espresso and pepper vodka. Great service, tour and tasting. A must for Bend locals when guests ate visiting from out of town. A nice alternative to the beer scene.

What a fun stop! So fun to try all the different spirits. Even better was the tiny cocktails for only $ 3! We loved this place. Be sure to try the pepper vodka! It’s like fresh chili pepper vodka!

This place was one of the highlights of my stay in Bend. I really can’t say enough good things about it.
Setting/​ambiance: a bit off the main road but worth it! Crater Lake spirits which we learned is technically designated as a farm has a great mountain view of Mt. Bachelor. There are options to sit inside but we sat outside on the Adirondack chairs (which are always a favorite of mine).
The booze: This place lets you get up to 6 free tastings of the alcohol they make on site (out of 9 possible options). They also will make you up to two cocktails as well. These cocktails will only cost you $ 3 bucks a pop and are delicious. I got the cocoa puff martini and the key lime martini and loved both.
We also took an impromptu tour of the distillery. It’s a small little place so it was only about 15 minutes but I learned a bunch and our guide was great.
We left a very happy group and the whole outing cost our group $ 15 plus tip. That’s 5 cocktails worth plus free tasting and free tour. AND you are supporting local.

Awesome place! Great vodkas and nice people! Love the Green Hatch Chili vodka. And the Hazelnut vodka. .exceptional. Worth checking out for sure.

This is the best tasting room in the state! Up to 6 tastings of gins, vodkas and their rye. Then you get specialty cocktails for $ 3. Also an added bonus of a view of the 3 Sisters from the tasting room.

What a fun place to visit! My friend and I stopped in here to pick up some Christmas gifts, and got to sample 6 flavors for free, plus only a few bucks for a small mixed drink of their little menu. The host was super friendly and knowledgeable, and they had tables set up inside (looks like outside seating in the warmer months), and a bar with stools as well.
I left with a bottle of the sweet ginger vodka, their regular «mixer» vodka (yummy) — although it’s still good straight, and the Hazelnut espresso Vodka. I wasn’t a fan of the spicy Vodkas, but they would probably go really well in a Bloody Mary, if you like that sort of thing.
We’ll be back again — next time with the hubbies, and probably bring friends here when they come to visit. Since we live on the north side of town, it is barely 10 minutes from our house — just past Tumalo.

Having spent a week in Oregon, we have done our fair share of distilleries. 5 in Portland, 1 in Eugene and 3 in Denver to be exact.
I had visited Bendistillery before, and was just as happy on our second visit. First of all, it is free! Whoo, hoo!
Second best thing, is the setting! They have seating outside with a gorgeous view of the mountains.
The alcohol is legit. They have a selection of Vodkas, Gins and Whiskeys, and fun bottles such as Sweet Ginger Vodka, Hatch Green Chile Vodka, Pepper Vodka and Hazelnut Espresso Vodka.
Added bonus they sell fun cocktails using their alcohol for three bucks a pop. Quite an extensive list.
If you are in the area, make the quick drive out to bend distillery. Cheers!

No tasting fee. We split a tasting flight — high quality and interesting variations. The 10 fte red vodka was smooth with a touch of vanilla finish as described. We fell in love with the sweet ginger vodka — straight was outstanding, even though I don’t ever drink straight vodka. We bought the whiskey, ginger vodka and regular vodka to take home. They offer a limit of one per person cocktail ($ 3 ea). I had the Greyhound with the ginger vodka, incredible. My husband had the Cocoa Puff with hazelnut espresso vodka. Sweet and served with graham crumb rim. DONT MISS, great stop!

A true boutique distillery. Small operation and they bottle by hand. Most of the botanicals they use in their gin or volka are grown onsite or local.
Their gin and volka are not stand-​outs. However I like the candied ginger volka. Great for sipping on a cold winter night.

OMG… miss my Oregon… but loving Charleston SC… love the smooth Crater Lake vodka… and gin… what amazing spirits the best ever… order them delivered down south… and many of my chums now order…

It’s completely appropriate to drink before noon on vacation right?! On a day on vacation in Bend I found myself at the Bendistillery at 11am. Yup. Who cares it was delicious and this is what vacation’s about right? They were super friendly and they had cocktails for sampling as well as just plain samples. We all had a lovely cocktail out on the patio and went home with some recipes and alcohol to enjoy. After a few days of brew pubs and beer sampling this is a welcome change and definitely worth a drive.

You know that final stretch b/​w Sisters and Bend? Wouldn’t it be nice to stop and enjoy the mountain views in vacation-​commencing fashion? Bendistillery fills that gap.
The reception building has a homey feel. Friendly staff will offer you free tasters — a full flight w/​palate-​neutralizing oyster crackers if you desire. Bar-​side indoor seating is nice, but patio seating gazes at north sister; raise a local shot of vodka or gin to toast your arrival in paradise. If you like what you taste, cocktails are available for $ 3.
They’ll offer a brief tour before/​after your tasting. You’ll learn that juniper is a primary ingredient in gin, and Bend sits in the world’s largest (non-​native) juniper forest; that they use lava rock in the filtering process; and that they’re aging a Black Butte Porter whiskey (5 yrs out).
FYI: Several signs along the highway will alert you to the righthand turnoff. Signal early and take it slow; it’s a 100 degree turn. Another sign will guide you down a gravel road to distillery parking.
As a staffer in the legislature, I’m proud that earlier this year we permitted distilleries to offer limited on-​site tastings. Bendistillery is doing it in style!

We were on a weekend trip in Bend for a friend’s birthday … we thought venturing out of the city a bit would be fun. As soon as we stepped out of the car onto the gravel drive, I was in love with this place! The views are amazing (Three Sisters, Broken Top are in the background), and there’s nothing but nature all around.
The staff was attentive and fun … The selection they cover during tasting is really great, and you truly get a feel for their talent. The pepper vodka was amazing … as good as it gets. It reminded me of biting into a pepper from the garden, so fresh. Their gin was refreshing, and again, tasted like nature (in a great way).
Their prices are very reasonable, and we all purchased a few things from them. Great gift shop, great liquor, great staff. A++

This was one of the highlights of my recent 3 night trip to Bend. I have never tasted at a distillery, it was a wonderful experience.
I tried the vodka, premium vodka, ginger vodka, gin, and hazelnut espresso vodka. After doing the tasting you can only have one cocktail, I had gin and grapefruit juice. I took home a sampler and t-​shirt. The tasting is free, the drink was $ 3.
Two small complaints: the samples were served at room temperature. Also there is a serving limit even though I had a DD. I would have liked to try another few of those tasty cocktails.
Update: James the Manager sent me a super nice message addressing my gripes :) here is part of it «We serve our spirits at room temperature because you can taste the nuances of the liquor better. When you chill a liquor you mask some of the „heat“ of it. When you have liquor tastings in the future notice that most of them will not be at room temp, that means they are trying to hide the true flavor of their liquor. Also, we have a tasting limit because it is Oregon state law.» Thanks dude! Room temperature liquor reminds me of one night in Mexico I would rather forget.

This was my favorite part about my recent trip to Bend, OR. I have never been on a distillery tour before. We tried the sampler and it was really fun comparing gin that had been filtered 10 times vs 100 times. They also had this pepper vodka that is amazing and spicy! I had the best bloody mary of my life at Bendistillery. We bought the pepper vodka and also the sweet ginger vodka which is really sweet & smooth to drink.
I learned that they grow all of their own peppers for their vodka and they pick all of the juniper berries from the trees on their property. I was really impressed with the tour because the tour guide was so knowledgeable & informative. You have got to check out the tour if you go to Bendistillery.
I left with a whole new appreciation for gin and vodka & I am excited to start trying to mix new drinks from the bottles that I acquired from my trip.

We have been by here several times and decided to stop after freinds suggested it. We founf the place to have a outstanding view of the mountains and a nice taster tray of their items, it is well worth the stop

If you’ve read a few of my reviews you will gather that I am rather fond of gin.
What that means is experimentation with different brands, i.e. exploring beyond my old favorites (Kendrick’s, Tangeray, and Beefeater). The search for new gins led me to Bend Distillery’s Cascade Mountain Gin, now available in most liquor stores in Oregon and Washington.
Bend Distillery uses only natural ingredients (i.e. juniper berries picked in the high steppe country of Central Oregon) and do not introduce extracts or artificial flavors into their gin. That’s excellent to hear, and worth an extra star. I know too that their gin has won awards in beverage contests.
So — I bought a bottle of the Cascade Mountain Gin and have tried… and tried… to acquire a taste for this greenish-​yellow potion. But it’s not working out too well. Mixing with either Cointreau or tonic water, it doesn’t matter. I don’t want to be crude or harsh, but in fumbling for words to describe this gin’s flavor, the smell of a wet baby diaper comes to mind (and to my taste buds). Sorry, but it’s true!
You mean, this is what unadulterated juniper tastes like? I weepeth if so.
On the other hand, Cascade Mountain Gin is 95 proof, so if nothing else is available, it’ll do.

I am giving this the lowest rating only because we never did get to try it. Their products came highly recommended. We drove all the way out there from Sunriver on the Friday after Thanksgiving and NO ONE WAS THERE. I called first and they said they were open on Friday. When we arrived there was a sign in the window saying they would be right back, they were on a tour, but NO one was at the facility. We waited for about 15 – 20 minutes. Some other people drove up too, and then we left. I called several times while waiting and couldn’t get a person on the phone and their recording didn’t indicate they were closed.
Very disappointing. Maybe will try them again someday.
