STOP ! Read this before you even think about consigning your used trailer to Big Country Rv in Bend Oregon. I consigned my trailer for 90 days. I had tried to sell it on Craig’s list, but it was still late winter. The price I would receive from Big Country was going to be 18k. When I consigned my trailer a 2013 Takena travel trailer 22ft it was immaculate it looked close to brand new inside and out. The salesmen were excited to have it!
Then they listed it for 26k which was too high. The sales person told me that if something doesn’t sell its priced to high. My trailer didn’t sell because they kept the price too high. They told me it would be in 2 RV sales events at the Redmond Expo, not true. During this time I referred a woman to them who wanted to buy it from me, I told her I just consigned it to them. She offered them 21,50. They lied and told her they had to put in 2k into it. The person at Big Country did not even take her name and phone number. I then talked to a higher ranking salesman who told me they would sell it for 19k that day if they got an offer. What a joke ! They had my RV in the way back hidden behind other trailers in a part of the property you almost had to drive to. The sign on the door read 26k the day I picked it up and the battery was dead. If I had waited I could have sold it for 20k on Craig’s list. It will be back on Craig’s list this coming week! BAD on you BIG COUNTRY!

We had a great experience buying our Motorhome here sales people were very helpful in getting us up to speed as we had not had a Motorhome for many years. Went back several times and alway had time to help. Once we were in a bind on week end when service was closed and he took time to scrounge up a temp fix.
No pressure sales. We would recommend to anyone in market for RV.
I will just say we do go elsewhere for service.

Customer has been fighting Black Tank issues for months now. Finally paid a professional to come in & take a look at what was going on. Turns out the trailer was leaking behind the access panels in the basement & behind the shower. What does this have to do with a clogged black tank? Well the black flush hose was kinked up bad & collapsed due being wire tied to a panel with no strain relief. This caused pressure issues against the one way check valve behind the shower. Big Country RV was not interesting in helping with this issue even after having the technician that worked on it call in & explain the ins & outs of this mess. Bottom line they offered nothing to help even though there is proof (photos) of this terrible mistake & it is VERY arguable it was like this from day one. This was a ticking time bomb until the point when a tech came in to defuse the situation. Big Country Service said call warranty. Warranty wasn’t easy to work with as they don’t agree to pay until the whole thing is figured out & until then the customer is responsible for everything right down to a black tank removal. Never guess who sold the warranty to the customer. HA — Question? How long would it take for your black tank to back up without a properly working black flush valve. Surely we are not alone in the world poor RV constructions & dealers that don’t wanna help even when you have proof they sold it that way. I got pics if anyone’s interested. Big Country RV gets a star for being very nice about saying «go fly a kite»” Good thing I can’t post pictures here or there would be nothing to the imagination! WOW BC has terrible reviews — how did this happen???

WORST customer service ever! I’ve been in 3 times trying to get a quote on replacing an ice box with a propane fridge. First guy said I had to come back Tues-​Sat to get a quote?! Then I realized that he was trying to go to lunch so I asked his co-​worker to help me, which he did. My camper is a 2014, so it shouldn’t be that hard to switch out an ice box for a fridge… not the case here. After measuring & remeasuring numerous times they finally determined that they have 1 fridge for me to choose from @$ 1500 + an install quote of 5 – 6 hours (@$ 120/​hr.). That seemed odd. I called a Portland dealer & they got me a quote & install appointment which totaled $ 900 for everything. They even had it ordered & installed within the week. This place is terrible!!! Service & parts department is absolutely the worst. Go somewhere else!

This review is in regard to the service Dept. at the Bend location.
I really can’t say whether it was incompetence or dishonesty! CAREFUL dealing with the Bend service Dept.
I had to wait 3 weeks for a slot to have the brakes checked for wear on my 36 foot long fifth wheel trailer. I have them checked every year. My first time at Big Country. After leaving it there all week, I called to check status. Dan, the service rep. said, «Oh yeah, I needed to get back to you». He said the brake shoes were completely worn out and the drums were also scored and couldn’t be used. He quoted $ 2,800 to replace the brakes on all four wheels! The little voice inside of me said, «There’s something fishy here». But given this was going to be the second time the brakes were replaced, maybe the drums needed to be changed. So I reluctantly gave Dan the go-​ahead. He said he would order the assemblies and let me know when they would be available, but it would probably take about 3 weeks. I picked up the trailer and took it home, for protection.
A month went by with no word from Dan. Again I called, and Dan said, «Oh yeah, I needed to get back to you». He went on to say the assemblies were even more expensive than he originally thought, and said he was going to pursue getting entire new axles, which he said include the brake assemblies. I told Dan to go ahead, but this wasn’t passing the common sense test.
Within a week I had the brakes replaced by one of Big Country’s competitors. I watched, aiming to see the condition of the drums. The drums were smooth, no glaze and showed no signs of excessive wear or damage. The shoes still had a small amount of braking material on them, but they were ready for replacement. New shoes and electric actuator components were installed in 1.5 hours, and my trailer was good to go with a $ 550 charge.
I’ve since taken it from Bend to Seattle and back, and down the Oregon coast to California and back. Over 2,000 miles in all! The brakes work great.
After over a month of not hearing from Dan, to my surprise, Dan called me. He said he was still «Working on it». I told him I had the brakes replaced after concluding he was lost. He said «Oh OK» and said goodbye.
A couple weeks later Dan called me to say I still owed them the $ 110 charge for originally checking the brakes. I went in and spoke to Dan, saying I felt I got incompetent and very sluggish service, and asked him if he thought I should be charged. He said «Yes». I thought about it for a minute and I gave him my credit card since they did report the brakes as needing replacement. But I said I’d write this review.
For all I know Big Country might be a good place to BUY an RV, but I’d be very careful in using their service dept. — certainly Dan!

I recently purchased my toy hauler at Big Country and I can tell you that I am not impressed. Once I signed the dotted line for my ordered unit, they were awful. They did not return calls and couldn’t tell me anything until my trailer arrived, almost 2 weeks later than they said. Even going to the dealership, they seem uninterested in helping.
The walk through went OK but I had to go buy an equalizer hitch. The service tech was surprised that they didn’t through that in, because they usually do! I found one at Jerry’s in Bend that was a lot more affordable. When I came back to pick up the unit, no one was to be found. Anyway, they didn’t help with hook-​up or light checks until I went and found someone.
This is my 4^th new RV. I usually get a sewer package or something, but not there. Their prices are too high. I was given a $ 30 give certificate to buy what I needed. I used the $ 30 certificate, but I will never buy anything from them again. I’m going to Jerry’s or Blue Dog.

I am not one to post negative things about local businesses (or any review for that matter) but after my rv buying experience last week I felt I had to.
Where to start… Ok first of all, the RV we wanted we found in 3 neighboring states for all around $ 21,000 to $ 24,000. BCRV was asking $ 31,000. Maybe a misprint? nope.
Anyway we were promised they would match the highest neighboring state price for the monthly payment we agreed on. Ok whatever, sure. We give them our down payment.
Then we get a call, YES YOUR APPROVED!!! Only problem your payments are quite a bit higher than you can afford and the interest rate is 2 points higher then we promised, but your approved (and it only took fifteen minutes!!!). I say «OK refund my payment I’ll drive to the other place and buy one». Then finally the finance lady goes to «work» and «buys» down the interest rate. She couldn’t tell me the monthly payment over the phone because she did’t have it in front of her.
So the next day we meet to sign papers and I see why she couldn’t tell me the monthly payment over the phone. Because they try to sell you all sorts of other crap like the «special under coating», I $hit you not. Extra flat tire insurance, special theft serial number stuff, etc. It felt like the used car dealer from the movie Fargo.
Anyway we bought the RV. Probably should have driven to Washington or California to get it. Wolves.

We visited both the Redmond location and Bend looking for a specific make and model of 5^th wheel. They only had 2015s on the lot and not the model we wanted and we were told that the 2016 models wouldn’t even come in until probably August. (We were aware that they were just trying to sell the 2015s and weren’t being honest.) They had extremely high MSRPs in the trailers which was very discouraging. We ended up finding the trailer we wanted at a fantastic dealership in Grants Pass and purchased it there. So much for buying locally.

Price point was $$, they were superior in delivery with making sure we, received what we needed to complete the job!
