Cedar West Apartments

This is a section 8 community and i have to say coming from California i didnt expect much in terms of how nice the apartments would be especially due ti the very low cost Oregon charges for their apartments. The staff is friendly and for the most part take care of any needs you may have in as timely a manner as possible. Biggest down side and the only reason for no 5 star review is that they let people smoke in the apartments!!! This is crazy! According to my neighbors the woman who lived in my apartment before me smoked in doors everyday for 15 years! The smell when we moved in was atrocious! To this day we have to burn oils to not have the smell linger. The walls had nicotine residue and many amenities where not replaced. Granted upon request they have replaced many of the issues and offered to repaint which I declined and have remedied the situation with several deep cleans vinegar and dozens of bottles of ozium but non the less the apartments need to ban smoking it only decreases value and these financial aid programs are much needed and important and will be needed for years to come. Other than that ive been in a few other units and they are all fairly nice especially when you consider the price of renting it is a fantastic place ti save some money and transition out of subsidized apartments

Nasty nasty management. Place was filthy when I moved in, but had to accept it as I had to be out of my old place. When we moved out they claimed over $ 4000.00 in damage was done, and repaired. Swore to it in an affidavidt. So we went back with the police on civil standby and took pictures of supposed damage and no repairs with a newspaper (with it’s date stamp) and suddenly management was all roses. Managers name was Camile. Police officer said he would file a fraud report. Don’t know what became of it as we moved far away. If you are thinking of moving here. Please don’t. The problems we faced are fostered by the corporate office. The manager, Camile, was a B for sure, but she was but a tool and thinking herself a person of importance.
