David helped me in my search for a nicer house with acreage in the Tumalo area. I have been a real estate investor for 20 years covering a lot of transactions with many different realtors, and would consider myself a very knowledgeable buyer/​seller. I was purchasing the home as part of a 1031 Exchange, which means there are special conditions and timing requirements that must be met and it makes the transaction a little more complicated. David was very knowledgeable about the 1031 process and also providing good advice about the future rental potential for homes that I was considering. He was also very knowledgeable about all areas of Bend and the surrounding region, help me search from Redmond to La Pine. When it came time to make offers, David was very good at developing a strategy for getting the best price and purchase terms. He was always very thorough and on top of all the paperwork related to the purchase and inspections and worked closely with the selling agent to resolve all issues in a timely manner. And finally, David is also a really nice person and a pleasure to work with. I would definitely work with him again.

David helped me find an ideal house in Bend over a long weekend. Although my time was constrained, we spoke several times before I arrived. David was able to answer my questions plus provide other valuable information. David came very prepared the day of my search and I got an excellent education on all neighborhoods and the pluses/​minuses of each house we looked at. During closing, since I was remote, David helped me out by attending my inspection and providing thorough feedback on the results. He also sent me a complete list of all the necessary utility companies and referrals I would need once I moved in. He’s a professional agent and I never felt pressured or rushed in my decision. I would recommend David to anyone thinking of buying a house in Bend.

My husband and I just relocated to Bend from San Diego and David has been instrumental in helping us find a home. When we decided to look for a house in Bend, Oregon, we checked out Unilocal and found that among the real estate agents in town, David Gilmour seemed to have consistently good reviews. We contacted him and discussed our needs and desires for a home in Bend. David first sent us a list of possible homes within our price range and then helped us to organize our visit in Bend. He helped book accommodation at a hotel in Bend at a good rate and then met us at the hotel the day after we arrived. We were unfamiliar with Bend so David first gave us a lay of the land. He showed us around town and then gave a tour of some different neighborhoods that we might like to buy in. We clicked well with David and quickly found him to be friendly, personable, patient and helpful.
We toured houses for two days and finally had a good crop of places to bid on. David was very helpful during the bidding process and worked hard to get us the best deal possible. We eventually won a bid on a house and came up to Bend a second time to meet the sellers and sign contracts. The process was made simple with David leading the way.
The house was a new-​built and we went overseas for the next few months while the house was under construction. The whole time we were away David stayed on top of the process. He visited the construction site several times to take photos of the house as it was being built. He dealt with the builders on our behalf when issues came up and decisions had to be made about different options on the house. Finally he went to pick up the keys for us when the home was complete. Then when we got back to Bend, David was there for the walk through and continued to help out with suggestions and recommendations as we moved in. On Thanksgiving he even turned up on our doorstep with a pumpkin pie!
Most importantly, David was good with communication. Even though we were overseas he was able to respond to emails night and day. When we had issues with the builder he fought on our behalf and worked as a mediator. He was also very open, straight-​forward and easy-​going. Working with David was a very good experience and we were pleased to have found him. Six stars!

We just moved to Bend and were lucky enough to have David guide us around. We had to sell our home near Lake Tahoe before we could finalize any purchase here in Bend. David was VERY patient and responsive to the types of properties we wanted to see. Throughout the escrow/​closing process, he was very attentive to details and maintained a good relationship with all parties concerned. Can’t recommend him highly enough.
