Local bread bakery. Limited vegan options. Honestly didn’t find the bread that impressive but maybe I got the wrong one. A bit on the pricey side.

Having trouble coming up with a rating. My breakfast sandwich was 5 stars. Fresh baked wheat bread with a freshly cooked egg. Topped with spinach, tomato and pepper jack cheese! It was so good! I love that it is a made to order sandwich grilled panini style.
I also ordered a deli type sandwich. They have a order sheet where you mark the bread type and all the fixings. Once again, a fresh made to order sandwich just the way you like. Good price for this also.
The baked goods I sampled it what is keeping me from 5 stars. The ginger cookie was very bland. No spice or kick of ginger that I was looking for. The berry oat muffin was good but nothing special. I think I set the expectation too high for the cream cheese berry scone. I really wanted it to be so amazing that I had to eat the whole thing. Instead I had a couple bites and was able to put down.
Good news is at 8am there was no one else there and my service was prompt and friendly. Only drip coffee served. No espresso. They also offer samples of their wares. I should have tested a few things out! I would come back here again for sandwiches and fresh baked bread.

Amazing bread. Delicious. Friendly guy at the counter gave my son a huge piece of bread for free. It made our morning!

What a great find. I wandered in looking for a a cup of coffee and free internet. Lured by the entrancing smell of fresh bread and pastries titillating my nostrils, I went for a Smith Rock Roast Beef sandwich, with brie as a free substitute for the regular cheese. Using their own freshly made bread, they put together a sandwich fit for a king. It couldn’t possibly get any better. Oh, and the internet was blisteringly fast!

Absolutely must stop and get some bread. Freshly baked, an interesting variety of flavors — one today was gluten free, wholesome, flavorful and fresh. Do it!

Great Harvest has an excellent selection of breads and sweets. Breads are reasonably priced and look fluffy and wholesome. Any whole grain bread is sure to please, and recipes accentuate grains over sugars.
There are, nevertheless, some excellent sweets available, particularly in the morning, and the portion sizes are generous for the price. Try the Mixed Berry Scones. The berries are tart, and the grains in the scone really pop out with just the right bit of buttery sweetness. Cinnamon rolls are a close second, but do not bring your Weight Watchers calculator. Just the sight of the rolls will have you throwing your weekly points out the window. And rightly so. You deserve a cinnamon roll…
At a quick glance, Great Harvest looks like any bakery, but at a slow glance, one finds chipped paint, cluttered walls, and cheap seating (Subway-​esque). I’ll come in for breads for sure, but I’m not sure that I’ll dine there often, even for a quick breakfast and newspaper reading. It just doesn’t have that I’ll-sit-here-and-eat feel.
Customer service is generally very good. More often than not, the cashiers are helpful, cheerful, and fast. Today, unfortunately, I witnessed a bit of a hiccup though. When asked why the clock on the wall was still an hour behind, the cashier answered that the owner was out of town and some things had fallen through the cracks. Daylight savings was Sunday; it is now Tuesday. When the owners go out of town, they trust their employees to maintain the business. Clock maintenance? C’mon, must I use the time-​loathed bakery cliché of «easy as pie»? Change the clock.
Whatever the clock says, if you like great breads, pop into Great Harvest, and while you might be thinking about taking something home with you, you’ll likely finish it in the car.

We came to this place twice during the two days we spent in Bend. The carrot cake was incredible, and large enough to share (even for a sweet tooth like me). We picked up a turkey sandwich and turkey panini for our picnic at Smith Rock State Park. Both were delicious, but the roasted vegetables on the panini were my favorite part.

The Dakota bread is amazing, best bread in Bend. Love their turkey cranberry sandwich. Half is enough. Enjoy!

We were lured in by the delicious smell of the breads baking and left with the most amazing (huge!) cinnamon bun… I’ve made plans to return in the morning for more! Too bad we can’t bring them bk to Charlotte with us!

Always delicious. A little pricey, but good. Especially the cookies and bread samples :)

Pretty good sandwiches but not really a place to sit and enjoy the food. Better for take out.

My wife and I parked near by with the intent of waking past this place, and we did initially… but the splendid and tempting odor of fresh baked bread emanating from the building drew us in as we were returning back to our car.
As we stepped through the threshold the teasing scent we enjoyed earlier became an overwhelming aroma of freshly baked bread and all of the goodness there in. Though we had no need for any of the things they sold we were compelled to purchase by the richness in the air. After completing our transaction the smiling face behind the counter offered a heavenly slice of hot freshly baked honey wheat bread. We gleefully accepted and he dutifully carved a steaming slab of fresh goodness from the loaf and bestowed it upon us.
The bread was delicious, warm, somewhat sweet and went great with the butter on the counter-​top. My wife complained that the bread seemed a little «doughy» and had a bit much flour. What I think she really meant was that this bread is filling, delicious, and worthy of being enjoyed alone.
