James Biever Construction

We hired James Biever Construction to design and build a wet bar/​efficiency kitchen in our home in Bend. James is simply the best contractor I have ever worked with… by far! He was creative, patient and flexible working through the design process. When he wasn’t sure of the feasibility of a particular approach, he said so and then asked one of his highly skilled subcontractors (electrician, plumber or cabinet maker) to assess the situation and provide optional solutions. He showed up on time, every time, cleaned up every day, finished on time and within budget. His craftsmanship was of the highest quality.
James is a person of impeccable honesty and integrity. You can tell the true character of a person by how they responds to their mistakes. As the project was nearing completion, James determined that his cabinetmaker had not followed the precise specifications. We had not noticed this discrepancy, and frankly, thought it was a relatively minor mistake. He brought it to our attention and was fully prepared to tear it out and start over at considerable expense to himself. Ninety nine out of a hundred contractors would have remained silent and waited to see if the customer noticed the difference.
James has a broad set of skills and is willing to take on smaller or larger projects than I have described. He has subsequently done some smaller projects for us (and for friends) with similar stellar results.
