This place has great reviews and came with high expectations. I was in on Saturday June 18th for dinner and sat at the bar. The pace was busy and I was lucky to get a seat! The menu looked great and I went with the shrimp étouffée. While I waited for dinner I had a Double Mountain Vaporizer pale ale. I wasn’t wild about the beer and in a great beer town like Bend would have loved a more robust well-selected craft beer menu. The bartenders were really busy making drinks and I felt that service was more efficient than friendly and welcoming. The ettouffee was really good. I’m glad that I checked this place out but wasn’t as wowed as I thought I’d be given the other reviews.

Best swordfish I’ve ever tasted. I would go to just have the trout dip and a glass of wine.

This was a great restaurants experience. Service, food and atmosphere was excellent! We had the jumbalya and pasta, soooooo good! You can’t get enough of the andouille(sausage), not too spicy, full of flavor. We we would go back every time we are in Bend.

We went on a very busey Friday night, and we went for Cajun food all the way. Even though it was busey the service was good and our waitress was a gem. I love the fact they have food runners everywhere when your drink or food was ready at bar or kitchen you would get it, it wouldn’t sit around . What we had: mango jalapeño margaritas, BBQ shrimp, jambalaya, shrimp ettoufe Wet almond cake for dessert. Everything was prepared and cooked near perfect. The flavors were spot on. The BBQSHHRIMP was incredible as was the corn bread. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

I’m a really big fan of the wine list here! The waiters really know their wines and recommended food pairings. A great place to go for special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries.

Had an amazing birthday dinner here while we were traveling through Oregon. Barbecue shrimp appetizer is wonderful. The vegetable risotto definitely didn’t disappoint but was a lot of food — maybe share that as an entrée. Peanut butter chocolate dessert should not be passed up. Wonderful staff and nice ambiance!

This was the BEST meal we have had in Bend. We tried the BBQ shrimp appetizer based on other reviews here and it did not disappoint! Thank goodness they brought out bread so we could enjoy every last drop of the sauce. We had the steak salad, steelhead and Kurabota pork chop. All three entrees were excellent and for desert, the wet almond cake was delicious. We are all ready for our next meal here the next time we’re in Bend.

Zydeco is a pretty hip, popular spot for Bend and gets super packed on the weekends. It’s not very spacious in here when they’re at capacity. Either way, the food is super good and on point with the service. We were a large party of eight. Our server was in good spirits and attentive for the birthday occasion. I wanted the porterhouse steak, but they were out so I had the New York which turned out to be pretty good. It was juicy and flavorful. It came with a hearty garlic mash and some veggies– all a delectable combo. We also had the truffle mac and cheese which I could not stay out of. My bf had the pork tenderloin which was soft, juicy and flavorful unlike what is usually expected. I didn’t get to taste everyone’s entrée but all were satisfied. We had a great time here and the birthday celebration was a memorable one. This is definitely a spot to dine when in the mood to get fancy and splurge. I’d totally come back next time I’m in the area!

Enjoyed my dinner here on my trip to Bend this weekend. The restaurant is dimly lit and classy on the inside, perfect for a date. I ordered two cocktails: blueberry lemon drop, which was yummy but pretty sweet and not strong at all, so if that’s what you want I’d recommend it. I liked the hard desert cocktail more, probably because I’m biased towards grapefruit-centered cocktail drinks AND I love earl grey, so the drink was perfect. My bf got the jambalaya, which he said was one of the best jambalaya dishes he’s ever had. The eggplants were TINY and delicious! The original, unchopped eggplant must have been the size of an actual egg. I ordered the BBQ shrimp appetizer, truffle mac and cheese, and seasonal veggies(grilled asparagus at the time). BBQ shrimp was flavorful and I loved the texture of the grits, but the sauce was a bit too salty. Truffle mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and indulgent like it should be! Came in an ~8 oz mason jar which was the perfect size. Asparagus was fresh and tasty, no complaints here. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants some delicious new American cuisine in a hip, happening(yeah, I’m super cool) restaurant.

This place is really quite amazing. It may be closer to 4.5 but I just couldnt do it! I will probably have mixed feelings until I go on my own since I was led to believe the meal was being paid for by someone else. So… joke’s on me. It’s a long story that barely involves me — but this man is a plain out jerk… But even with the asshole invitee and his friend — who really had nothing to say the entire evening(boring) — I enjoyed myself thouroughly because the place is just top notch! Service is slow… That’s the only real complaint I can muster. Drinks took quite a while to get to us, as did the food. But the restaurant is lovely and busy and bustling — while not seeming too crowded. Our table overlooked the kitchen where you could watch some of the activity. The servers were nice and professional. I tried a Cardamum New Fashioned — it was good, not quite sweet enough for lil old me. And a blueberry lemondrop which I LOVED. Cocktails are about $ 10. Had I known I was paying for myself I would have oredered one deliscious appetizer and called it a day. As for apps — the douche ordered two of them — shrinp & grits and smoked trout dip. Lots of shrimp on a grit cake with the most delectable sauce you’ve ever tasted… They wouldn’t tell me exactly what was in it, but apparently sell the base. The trout dip was so good, I was really surprised I liked smoked trout dip THAT much. For an entrée I ordered the babyback ribks with collard greens and truffle mac & cheese. I offered everyone in my party a rib to try(some of us are generous) and I still had enough to take two home for a small dinner last night! The collard greens were good and light the mac & cheese was good — but needed a little umph(and salt) but the ribs were so very fall off the bone good! We(and by we, I mean he) ordered one dessert and we all tried it — the mousse of some sort with whipped cream. Really yummy! So I gave the bastard $ 57 to cover everything. The total bill was $ 224. And I will so come here again when I visit Bend. But this time I will go prepared — with enough money to spend, with a sense of how I can make the most of my money, and with only good company as a place as good as this deserves that!

Zydeco is a happening spot, highly recommend you get a reservation in advance if you are planning on popping through. We went on a January Saturday evening. They have a nice selection of wines and at the time I went, Northwest wines had a $ 0 corkage fee associated, so we definitely took advantage of that and I appreciate the restaurants support of the local wine industry. There are some delicious appetizers but they are known for a BBQ Shrimp and Grits dish. I cannot pinpoint the spices used but likely black pepper, Worcestershire, and cream(among others). The dish was so flavorful it took my mind off the fact the shrimp were very tough. A delicious truffle Mac and cheese — highly recommend that. For entrees, I went with the Baby Back Ribs which were incredibly filling. There was so much BBQ sauce it needed to be scraped off but fell off the bone. My wife ordered the Red Fish with a Potato Suflét and it was tasty but both entrees were cooked just a bit too much. The downside was that our waitress was spread thin, we didn’t get our dishes for long periods of time and I walked up to the bar to refill my water twice. Food was cooked a bit past its prime on every course. I recommend the BBQ Shrimp, you can also buy the sauce and cook it at home, fun fact! We will give it another try, maybe we caught it on an off day? I might revisit this review in the next few months. Check it out for yourself. Cheers!

I finally made it here. I really thought the reputation was going to be an inflated one, but WOW! I thought the whole experience was incredible. From food to impeccable service! First, make a reservation. Second, if you like wine bring a bottle from home and if it’s from Oregon or Washington there is no cork fee! Third, be prepared for about $ 20-$ 30+ entrée cost. If you want a quick dinner this isn’t the place. If you want a dining experience with great food this IS the place. We had reservations and were promptly seated. There is a very large gluten free menu and they take such care that when the table is served crusty rustic bread with herb infused EVOO, gluten free crackers are brought also! The server was very knowledgeable about what was gluten free and could answer all our questions. I had the roast pork loin. It was thinly sliced and tender. The mashed potatoes were hot and creamy. The roasted veggies of sweet potatoes, green beans and pearl onions were very tasty! Maybe too much starch? Not for me! I am sure I could have substituted the roasted veggies for asparagus. They were over the top accommodating. The pork and potatoes were covered in this light mushroom cream sauce. So yummy! Our table also received the specials of salmon and beef short ribs. The ladies I was with said they were all pleased. We shared a tricolored beet salad that was amazing with a large portion of sliced beets alongside dressed greens all topped with feta and pistachios. It was pretty large for $ 8. Then we shared a couple of desserts. They were large and also $ 8. The bread pudding was very good but not served warm like it often is. Then we got the Almond Wet Cake. It is like nothing I have had before! Almond flour cake soaked in tres leche, topped with whip cream, cookie crumble and some butterscotch. Sounds super sweet but was actually very light. If I have anything negative to say it would be that the restaurant is sort of loud. We left about 915p and the restaurant was essentially empty by then. By 815p it was dramatically quieter. So I would recommend a 730p reservation so you can experience some of that quieter atmosphere.(Maybe not on a weekend, I hear they are incredibly busy) Not someplace I can afford to come all the time but definitely someplace when you want a nice dinner out or special occasion. It is worth all the hype it receives!

GETTHESHRIMPAPPETIZER it’s creamy and spicy and seriously the best shrimp I’ve ever had .LIKEEVER!!! I had the ribs with truffle mac and cheese. the ribs were covered in sauce(not a fan of that) but next time I’ll order them without sauce… the mac and cheese comes in a little mason jar that I wanted to stick my toung in and lick every morsel.. We went with friends who were«in the know » and get this. there is no corkage fee if you bring in a local wine. I thought that was cool… but only one bottle per table. we are going again next week. I think I may just have the shrimp for dinner and my app. Oh ya make a reservation

Hands down… this is my favorite restaurant in Bend! I have never had a bad meal here and as I explore the menu to try new things, it just keeps getting better. I’ve eaten here a couple dozen times and this place never seems to disappoint. Some favs are the fresh halibut when in season which is nestled next to truffle mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The red fish is divine too and it’s drizzled with yummy Zydeco sauce(I like to call it crack sauce). My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The Porterhouse steak for two is to die for and the mushroom/mashed potatoes appetizer will leave you speechless. In fact, every appetizer on the menu is sublime. They also have great specials. On my last visit I had big fat juicy prawns on a bed of Risotto. DOUBLEYUM!!! Seriously I could go on and on but I think you get the idea that I love this place. Always get the bread basket. It’s from the Village Bakery and served with herbed up EVO. Now I’m hooked on the Villiage bakery bread too. Perfection is no exaggeration when describing this place. The struggle is real trying to not eat here every week because it can get pricy when also buying cocktails. BTW…without reservations you’ll probably not get seated on Friday’s or Saturday nights.

Well, reviews and suggestions are a funny things, you never know if you’re going to like what everyone else likes. But, I digress. Let me start with the BBQ shrimp, because this was our starting point. Basically, I very much wish that I had found these babies the first night in Bend, because I very much wish I had been eating them for every meal since I got here. Ahhhhh the deuces!!! How will I ever live??? Apparently I will be ok, because they sell the sauce and I can take some home and reverse engineer it so I can die happy and impress my friends. There was a good selection of beers and I imbibed the Bees Knees with Whiskey. I would say we were both happy. Now let’s chat about the main course. I got the Blackened Fish and my cutie got the Boar. Holy Mother of God!!! Ok, not as good as the shrimp, but totally amaze balls. The fish I ordered with the truffled scalloped potatoes and I would say, total do over! The boar was tender and flavorful. The spice rub was delicious and the garlic mashed potatoes were good. The truffled scalloped potatoes might have been fantastic or over kill, it’s a hard call. If we were going to get the Boar again, I’d go scalloped potatoes, but that probably is because I’d rub truffles all over myself and most things I put in my mouth, they’re so good. Michael, our waiter, was super awesome and I’m pretty sure we wouldn’t have had the same experience without him. There are people you meet and you ask, we’re in your hands, please take good care of us, what should we eat, and they fail. They either don’t care or they’re not inspired. Not every waitperson can take care of you at this level, but we like a little adventure in our dining out, and this combo of waiter and food, was as good as it gets. Should you be so f’ing lucky, to find yourself in Bend, Or, and at Zydeco, may you also be blessed with Wet Cake… Wait, did I mention the Wet Cake? Ok, yet another good option. They also have the typical desserts like flourless chocolate or crème brûlée, and carrot cake. But, by the end of our meal, I was one stuffed and happy girl.
