History

Established in 1987.

NHT was founded in December 1986 and shipped its first product, the Model 1 in 1987. Since then, NHT has challenged the notion that the very best sound reproduction must come at a premium price. We take tremendous pride in our products. These are the loudspeaker systems that audio enthusiasts want to own; that will provide a lifetime of listening pleasure. Our products from the past to present speak volumes of how dedicated we are to sonic excellence.

Since 1987 NHT’s mantra has been «high-​end, not high price. We believe high-​end is how you approach product design and the hundreds of decisions you make along the way, not necessarily what it costs. It’s also about experience and application focused design. Designing and building speakers and products based on what people want, what they need and how they use them. We love what we do.

Business Owner

Veteran of the Consumer Electronics Industry since 1978. Jobs in the industry include University Stereo, The Federated Group, my own Customer Installation business, dB Audio Berkeley, CA, Macy’s California and I have been with NHT since 1990. I’ve been drumming since the 5^th grade, training in Recording Engineering, Financial Planning, Cooking, Computer Programming and Music. Attended Pacific Lutheran University — non-​degree.
