Closed, gone, and empty storefront.

It kills me this is the closest frozen yogurt place to me ’cause it’s really not that good.
There are only a handful of flavors and thus far, I would say only two of them are actually good.
It’s also pretty pricey for fro-​yo and the topping options are pretty minimal.
And last but not least, I can’t say I’ve ever really had great service there. There’s usually only one person working and they’re super slow.
Golden Spoon or Yogurt Land, where for art thou!!!

The ice cream was okay but they charged $.25 for a stale cone. I will never go there again. Not very friendly either.

My kids love coming here, great variety of flavors and toppings and reasonably priced!

It was a hot day in Benicia & Red Raspberry was empty. Quite peculiar.
Quickly scanned the neighborhood & it’s next to Jamba Juice & Starbucks. Good sign. Quickly scanned the exterior & interior. Nice, cute, & clean.
But still, it was empty.
Quickly scanned the menu. Cool. They serve not only yogurt, but gelato, sorbet, and even tea, all different types of tea. I really liked the sample of red velvet yogurt. The tea, though, was questionable. Who drinks warm tea on a hot day? It’s a yogurt spot. Should tea even be on the menu? Anyhoot, the assortment to choose from was a-​plenty.
But still, they were empty.
Quickly scanned the prices. A small yogurt cost $ 3.25. Cool. But yikes, toppings cost $ 0.75 each? Quickly scanned my yogurt w/​3 toppings. Messy. Almonds all over the place. Banana slices didn’t look fresh. Chunks of mango were big, but scarce. For $ 0.75 a topping, I expected a little more. And coconut slices, they didn’t offer it. Sigh. Even the taste didn’t meet my expectations. My yogurt tasted like ice cream, straight up ice cream.
Ahhh, now I get it. This is why you’re empty.

Tucked in the corner of the Southampton Shopping Center near Jamba Juice is this little bit of heaven. Super cute place and very clean. Gelato and Froyo flavors to satisfy every one! Perfect assortment of toppings too!

Wow… five stars for brining something much needed to Benicia. I don’t really care about froyo so read the other reviews for that. I have yet to join the legions of soccer moms who need a low fat or no fat sweet treat.
I am here to talk about the tea. Wow, so many exotic teas. I have been buying them by the ounce and taking them home and enjoying all day everyday. At whole foods you could pay as much as 15 – 18 dollars per ounce for the same stuff but at a fraction of the price. This stuff is better than what they offer in the city.
The décor is nice. They stay open late and have candle light tea service if you want. A great place to go and chill with the friends. I love it and hope it really catches on.
Embrace it Benicia, I would hate to lose this one.

I’m enjoying the convenience of having a yogurt place in Benicia. Red Raspberry, however, still needs a fair amount of work. Their selection is unimpressive. The froyos they have on tap lack flavor and seem to be on the sour side, too tangy for my tastebuds (perhaps the same reason I’ve never been a fan of pinkberry). The gelatos were also not very good, unfortunately.
On the plus side, they do give a good amount and they don’t skimp out on the toppings. The manager is really friendly and aims to please. First time patrons get a free topping or scoop (I think). I look forward to continued improvement and I’ll make it a point to come back and support their growth. After all, they’re just starting out. I hear they’re going to add up to six more flavors, they will soon sell froyo through self-​service stands where customers can customize their creations and pay by weight. This, along with the eventual addition of free wifi, should definitely win more people over.

The «tart» and the «cactus agave» are my favs. So yummy. A really good way to satisfy my pinkberry cravings nearby.
They also have delicious teas. Every one I’ve tasted has been amazing.
Service is ALWAYS friendly and with a smile.

First of all, I have to admit that I’ve never had the whole froyo deal where you mix fruit and toppings so I couldn’t really compare the quality to the other places.
After having a bad day, I walked into Red Raspberry and was greeted immediately from the two workers behind the counter. I told her that I wasn’t familiar w/​any of the flavors so she kindly suggested that I could try anything before I make my decision. I went ahead and got the chocolate frozen yogurt, mixed fresh strawberries & some mochi.
My daughter was running around the store and offered to give her not just one but three samples of gelato. They loved seeing her reaction after each bite. Anyway, I ended up loving my treat and my daughter did too. IMO, the service was great too. I’ll definitely be coming back since the weather is getting warmer.

This place now gets 4 stars because
1) The cleaner smell is gone
2) There’s a really hot, nice, new employee spicing up the place. Sorry guys, she’s taken! :)

I really want to like this place, but I just can’t. The froyo is not that good. The consistency is ok, but the taste just cannot compare to yogurtland. The gelato is nothing special. They also offer a variety of teas which are, in fact, quite good.
I do appreciate this is a local business with really nice owners. However, their product is not up to par. I would drive to Yogurtland or Gelataria Naia any day.
I give Red Raspberry an A for effort, but C for frozen treats!

I’ve been curious about this place and finally checked it out a few weeks ago. For those of you who think it’s pricey, it’s actually normal, if not cheap, for frozen yogurt (it’s about 30cents/​ounce), and well worth the price. The flavors are really delicious, and I dragged my friend there (who has always hated anything to do with yogurt), and he now loves frozen yogurt. Also, the place always has fresh fruit toppings (among other toppings), which I think is great.
This place isn’t just a frozen yogurt place. It also has a really great selection of gelato, some sorbet, and an amazing tea selection (I’m a huge fan of loose leaf teas). I’ve tried about half of the teas so far, and my favorite right now is rooibos peach. You can even buy the teas by the ounce, and the place uses a really neat tea strainer thing that I think you can buy as well.
Every time I’ve been there, the owner has been the main, if not only, person working there, and he’s ridiculously nice and polite and makes sure that the cup of frozen yogurt is filled well over the top. He’s mentioned several awesome ideas/​plans that he has for the place (I’m now a pretty frequent customer), including changing the design of the place and adding more flavors of everything.
The frozen yogurt, amazingly enough (since it tastes so incredibly delicious) is nonfat. If you’re feeling like trying to eat healthy, or if you just enjoy teas, gelato, sorbet, and/​or frozen yogurt, I’d definitely recommend this place… as long as it’s open when you get there. The one thing I don’t like about this place is how its hours are very unreliable. There have been far too many times I have gone here during their official hours during which they haven’t been open.

Holy cow! Who cares about the décor? Just because it’s not some bubblegum pink place with sparkly signs does not make the froyo bad! Good lord! We go there every other Friday for a treat… I always get a small (which is pretty damn big) Italian (plain) froyo and the hubby get’s gelato. I LOVE the tart Italian Froyo and it doesn’t even melt before we get it home. It is VERY hard making a small speciality store work in the long run, in Benicia, Cold Stone didn’t even last, so I wouldn’t spend my entire life savings on décor for a possible temporary business either were I the owner…
I’ve had more expensive froyo at sparkly pink places…

This is what Benicians have been asking for: a frozen yogurt place in Benicia. Sure, there’s the processed fro yo at Baskin Robbin’s, but we’ve wanted the real deal. As of the summer, this dream has become a reality, and B-​town was graced with Red Raspberry. Does it stack up against other frozen yogurt places?
Well, most of its success is due to the fact that it is a frozen yogurt place in Benicia. It used to be a Cold Stone Creamery, but from the looks of the interior, you could swear it was once a hair salon. The white and black aren’t very aesthetically pleasing, but it’s not like the management is asking you to stay very long. Like all other shops, you get a variety of fro yo flavors and your choice of toppings. It sounds welcoming, but they are limited in their flavor selections. I ordered a tart vanilla flavored one which was decent, but what’s wrong with plain vanilla? Just a suggestion.
But hey, location is definitely a plus, and the staff seemed friendly despite being about 14 years old. I’ve been to better places, but seeing as it’s the only legit frozen yogurt place in Benicia (as of now. Who am I kidding? We won’t get another one), I’ll return soon.
I’ll probably try the gelato.

This place is weird. I felt dizzy when I walked in. Everything was red and white… including the man behind the counter. Yep, he had on this white and red striped shirt… and I mean huge stripes. He looked like a candy cane. I thought maybe this was his uniform but then when I got closer it said Polo on it. He must have got it at Ross.
So then we get closer and he offers us some taste tests. I was disappointed that it wasn’t self serve like most yogurt places these days. The froyo he offered up was not that tasty. The Italian was simply the tart flavored. They have gelato too. I started to think. is this guy Italian? I decided he was middle eastern – which is fine – but playing Italian. I can dig it… I had some of the best tacos in my life this week at an Asian Taco Truck. no discrimination here. But when I asked him what the difference was between ice cream and gelato :blank stare: I wasn’t quizzing him. I watched it on food network before and forgot the explanation. was just tryin to tell my kid – who insisted on having some by the way. Finally, and out of no where he says «less air»

Oh, okay… thanks. Then he charged me nearly $ 4.00 for the most minuscule serving of Gelato evar. Ever evar? Ever ever.

It’s about time Benicia got a FroYo place. I’m tired of going over the bridge to Red Mango to get my fix.
The yogurt is tart style and I always order original. I’d rate it eight on a scale from one to ten (nine being Red Mango). They have other flavors like chocolate, blueberry, and raspberry. Mochi is my favorite topping.
They also have a excellent selection of teas, tea lattes, and tea flowers to drink there or to go. So far I’ve had a honeydew latte – lightly sweetened and dessert-​like. I’ve also had the Roobus Chai as well. It was heaven.
I haven’t tried their gelato.
I hear they’re working on free wifi access. Next time I’m bringing the laptop.

This place is located in the Southampton shopping center where the Cold Stone Creamery used to be. (Jamba Juice is next door.) I visited this place at about 2PM on a Thursday. I’ve been waiting for this place to open all Summer and they just opened two days ago. So, of course, I had to try their frozen yogurt. I should note that this is not a self-​serve yogurt joint and that they sell frozen yogurt, gelato (which looked really yummy), and assorted teas.
When we walked in we were politely greeted right away. I asked them if it was the «tart» kind of yogurt (that I really like) and fortunately for me it was! I tried the green tea, the raspberry and the original «Italian» flavor. All very good. They also had a blueberry flavor that I didn’t care to try. I ended up getting a large of the original flavor with fresh diced strawberries and mochi which came out to $ 7.25 since the toppings were each of a separate cost.
The consistency of the yogurt had the perfect tartness and not too soft and fast melting. My toppings were a little skimpy and the some of the mochi was stale. The décor is nice, although it seems as though they are still trying to get things just the way they want it but they do have plenty of seating available.
Pros: frozen yogurt in Benicia (yay!), gelato & tea fusions too! Good location, lots of parking, friendly owners
Cons: pricey, full-​service froyo rather than self-​serve, not by the ounce
Would I come back? If I was in the mood and didn’t feel like driving to Yogurtland. However, I do want to come back and try their teas.
