It’s hard to put into words just what an awful experience it has been dealing with Gail over the past 5 years of my life, but if I were to sum it up in one single word it would be: nauseating. Her lack of genuine interest in a childs welfare should be evident the minute you realize all she does is ask about money.
She lied to me. Numerous times. Lied in court. Numerous times. I’m sure she’d say this review is only because I didn’t get my way in court. This wouldn’t be true, however. I’m a nurse, I know how it is to do a job and sometimes things go south. No, with Gail my problem lies in her blatant disregard for ethics while practicing her trade.
The unusual relationship she shared with my family court judge Sally Jackson lead me to believe there was direct conflict of interest in the matter, but because Berkeley County Family Court is a poorly written comedy show, I didn’t waste my time bringing it up.
Dirty office with no privacy, anyone using the restroom in the lobby can hear every word spoken in her patient area. Apparently, in Gails world, HIPAA isn’t a top concern.
Neither is dusting.
In closing, write me any time you have a question about her and I’ll be happy to fill you in. The more people I can keep away from her office, the more likely she will be to either get out of the career field she is abusing or hitch her wagon to a horse and ride west.

UPDATE:
I have received several fairly harassing, aggressive defenses of Gail from anonymous messages and just happened to notice the positive review here that popped up. Oddly enough, the review was posted by an account that was created just now. I am not saying it is a fake, but I strongly suspect anyone that would create an account and log on to Unilocal specifically to leave a glowing account of a woman who is, in my opinion, one of the most poor examples of the counseling profession in the history of the profession. Seems pretty bogus.
In response to «what adults do» made in the positive review on 7÷3÷2013 (today), I’d like to respond — assuming the account is not a fake. Which I have no way of knowing for certain but believe personally it is. My response is that based on my experience, again in my personal opinion, nothing Gail did throughout 5 years of dealing with her indicated she was capable of having a single adult discussion.
She lied. Blatantly. She told me that she was going to say something in court, and less than 24 hours later she said the exact opposite. Any counselor that lies is in the wrong profession. Set aside her blatantly unethical discussions of medications which is outside her scope of practice and ILLEGAL for her to do. She cannot discuss medications in any way. Believe it or not that is one of the more serious and harmful violations a counselor can do. You can practically take a test and become a counselor — you cannot become a doctor. Her arrogance at believing she can discuss medications is stunning. As a nurse, it is offensive.
Setting all of this aside, I have yet to find one person who did not want their child to see her regularly who she did not disparage in court. Not one. In other words, if you do not agree with her — you do not get the privilege of her vote. And she does treat her vote as a privilege. She does not treat it as a means of helping a child.
Adults can disagree with one another. No one disagrees with Gail Shade and gets away with it. The proof is in the courts.
