As a family dental practice, we are true believers that preventative care and education are the keys to optimal dental health. We strive to provide «dental health care» vs. «disease care» which is why we focus on thorough exams, including cancer screening. We also know that routine cleanings, flossing, sealants, and fluoride are all helpful in preventing dental disease. A review of your medical history helps us stay informed of your overall health, so we’re aware of anything that may impact your dental health.

We are devoted to restoring and enhancing the natural beauty of your smile using conservative, state-​of-​the-​art procedures with attractive, long-​lasting results. Dr. Rahmatian has advanced training in dental implants, as well as extensive experience with cosmetic, restorative and laser treatments.

Dr. Rahmatian is a 2002 graduate of the USC School of Dentistry. As an active faculty member at the UCSF School of Dentistry he is able to keep up to date with the latest research in his field.

A passionate interest in implants led him to the Misch International Implant Institute where he graduated in 2007. He is a Fellow of ICOI (the International Congress of Oral Implantology) and also belongs to the ADA, the CDA, and the Berkeley Dental Society.

Dr. Rahmatian and his wife are the proud parents of a young daughter, with another on the way. In addition, Dr. Rahmatian is an active volunteer in a variety of dental causes. He serves on mission trips, including to Guatemala and the Kona Clinic in Hawaii, where there is little or no dental care available. Locally, he volunteers his time at several clinics that provide care to limited income families. Every year when he visits his hometown, he provides support to the local clinic and dental school.

Dr. Rahmatian is an excellent dentist. He’s friendly, very bright and capable, has a gentle and sensitive touch. I never feel concerned about experiencing pain because he is so careful. I always feel that he really cares about the work he does with me and best of all has a good sense of humor. I recommend him highly. I also feel that he is willing to go the extra mile and help me in a way that takes best advantage of my dental insurance.

When I moved to the east bay four years ago, I was super nervous about finding a good dentist. Having had dental implant and various other issues all through out my childhood due to falling when I was seven and chipping my front tooth, I needed someone who is a skilled dentist with a gentle touch. Thankfully, Aloha Pediatric Dental (my son’s dental office) recommended Dr Rahmatian. He’s been great and I am a lot less nervous now for my visits –even though it’s never really a fun time is it in the chair.
I also appreciate that it is a small office and there is pretty much no delay or wait time for appointments.
One tip, don’t use the overpriced parking lot next to the office. Look for street parking behind the little park around Prince or Regent.

Dr. Rahmatian became my dentist many years ago when my previous dentist retired and he took over her practice, and he has been taking care of my teeth ever since. He is fantastic. He somehow manages to be crisp, efficient and professional (which I appreciate) while at the same time being gentle and attentive (which I also really, really appreciate!). Throughout any work he’s doing, he asks regularly whether I’m comfortable, whether anything is hurting and adjusts what he’s doing to make sure I’m okay. He is extremely skilled and knowledgeable, for example when he «filled» (actually, built up again) my lower front teeth where I had ground them down, he did an excellent job of matching the color, and of shaping the fillings to fit my bite perfectly. He seems very well versed in the most up to date dentistry, and always explains what he’s doing and why, what he recommends, and answers any questions I have. Christina, who has been the dental assistant at the office since before Dr. Rahmatian took it on, is excellent too, and they work very well together. I highly recommend him to anyone needing a great dentist.

Dr. Rahmatian has been a great dentist for me for a few decades. He’s sensitive, rarely causes me any discomfort when he’s working on my mouth, and is very finely tuned in precise matters, such as making a night guard for my teeth. He’s an intelligent and caring person and has a good sense of humor, which is always helpful when your mouth is being worked on. I recommend him without reservation.

I wish I could give Dr. Rahmatian 10 stars because he really deserves it. Memorial Day weekend my wife suffered a tooth abcess with extrememe pain and infection. I literally called 30+ dential offices in the Berkeley area and Dr. Rahmatian was the only one who responded to help my wife. Not only did he respond by prescribing the antibiotics she desperately needed, but he followed up with us multiple times to ensure she was ok, taking time away from his holiday weekend. We really cannot thank Dr. Rahmatian enough and are extremely grateful for his caring and support. Please do not hesitate to contact him about your dental needs!

Dr. Rahmatian is the most caring dentist I have ever had. At my first visit he took his time to explain all my options and answer all my questions regarding the work that needed to be done. I have recommended him to all my friends and family that live close to his office and I am looking forward to getting all my work done at his office as soon as I get an appointment. I am actually a practicing dentist myself and I only trust Dr. Rahmatian with my dental care.

I have only been once, but I had a tooth that was showing signs of decay. I got hold of him on his cell phone and he was able to take me in the early morning on Monday. His practice is small and he only sees one patient at a time, so while I was there, I had his full, undivided attention. We made a plan to fix my tooth and I was able to schedule a follow-​up and a regular cleaning that fit my schedule as a teacher.
Also, the place is DECKED OUT for Halloween. You might consider making an appointment just to see it!

I recently switched dentists and honestly I couldn’t be happier. I hate dental work, like everyone else in the world, but Dr. R gave me two crowns and I can honestly say that the process was pain-​free. Not only that, but he was so attentive, so gentle, so thorough and caring. I actually sort of enjoy seeing him, as insane as that sounds.
He communicates by email, which is great. He uses video imaging and all sorts of high tech stuff, but mostly he’s just a gifted dentist with a delightful bedside manner.
His staff is amazing, too. His receptionist and billing person worked so hard to maximize my insurance cover. They made dozens of phone calls, all very cheerfully and happily. They even found ways to get me coverage I hadn’t known about.
Honestly, I can’t imagine a better dental office than this one.

I can’t believe how lucky I am to have Dr. Rahmatian as my dentist. He’s saved my «choppers» (and my smile!) many times over the years. Recently my old bridge (from another dentist) finally wore out and Dr. Rahmatian brilliantly replaced it with two fabulous implants.
The guy is simply an artist. If you want a dentist with state of the art equipment and knows how to use it, he’s your guy.

Coming to the Dentist isn’t always easy. My experience at Dr. Amir’s office was great. Patti (the receptionist) is very friendly, she helped me schedule an appt that worked best for me. Christina (the dental assistant) was attentive and super nice. Dr. Amir is very professional. He explains dental matters in a way that anyone can understand. Best of all during my dental treatment, Dr. Amir & Christina were very gentle!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Rahmatian for my dental care since he took over from Dr. Susan Fisher. The transition was flawless — he’s never given me a single reason to look for a different dentist. Most importantly — I trust that he’s not trying to encourage unnecessary work. I also deeply appreciate his long time assistant, Patty, who knows everything about the dental insurance business and always does her best to minimize my out of pocket costs.
Dr. Rahmatian keeps a close eye on the latest technology and a closer eye on the health of my teeth!

I have gone to Dr. Rahmatian now for several years, as have my wife and children. He and his office are absolutely first class. Beyond having strong (and very current) technical skills, he is an excellent communicator, making it easy for me as a patient to make decisions regarding my dental care. His support in the office is as good (and gracious) as it gets, with a highly competent Office Manager (Patty) and very fine professional colleagues (Dr. Harris and Cristina Vazquez). I have been coming to this dental office for over 13 years. Dr. Rahmatian took over (the awesome) Dr. Susan Fisher’s practice when she retired 6 years ago. The quality of care I receive here is off the charts great! I cannot recommend this dental office highly enough to everyone. In fact, because of Dr. Rahmatian’s integrity, my husband and I travel all the way to Berkeley from Redwood City! He is that worth it!
Dr. Rahmatian’s knowledge and expertise are outstanding. He has a gentle touch and a big brain, and maybe more importantly, certainly more rare, he has integrity. This dentist will NEVER tell you you need something you don’t — he is never going to try to cover his overhead off an inflated bill, and that, my friends, is rare indeed. Dr. Rahmatian is old school care, he puts his heart in his work, and his excellent team (all still the same from Dr. Fisher for 13 years) are wonderful, too.
Patty, the wonderful, warm receptionist, will totally work with you to manage a payment plan that is accomodating to you, and the tech Cristina is so funny and nice, you won’t even notice discomfort while getting X-​rayed. Dr. Harris is also superb at cleanings. Try to go during Halloween the office is decked out awesomely!
