NO SENSE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE
I went here recently to make a purchase with my credit card and when I was rung up I said that I also needed a bag with my purchase. My purchase was completed and the woman left my product on the counter and walked away, but I said that I’d like a bag. She said you didn’t say that initially, but I said I did and that I want one and she says ok, but it’s 10 Cents, and I said, fine (I’m very familiar with the 10 Cent bag policy in Berkeley). Then I gave her cash for the bag, and she grabbed the bill from my hand, and slammed the register. She looked really pissed off. I said thank you and she said nothing. If you think you can run a business with this model it’s time to get real and wise up before you are supplanted by someone else!

I really like this place. It was my first time matching for foundation and blush and a very talented lady helped me find the right match. They also have a wide selection of Zoya nail polishes.

I stop here occasionally for higher end shampoo that is just modestly cheaper if I find the same thing at a chain drugstore. The Beauty Center has a much larger selection of course and with a nice comb selection as a bonus.

This store has the potential be a good place to shop, but their customer service is horrible. The staff is rude and not very helpful. I will not be back, it’s my money and i don’t have to spend it with you.

I read some other reviews and I strongley disagree. The staff is highly rude and they don’t let kids in. Multiple times they Have told me to leave because I was too young… when I do go in I find that they keep a close watch on me as if I were going to do something bad. Overall, the staff is rude and they don’t treat me well there

I wish I could spend all my time here! The ladies are fantastic and fun, but knowledgeable and informative! They always make it a point to listen to my concerns and chose the right product for me. Their return policy is amazing too! I will always come here for my beauty needs.

I love going in to the Beauty Center. The staff are always super friendly and helpful. They have an excellent selection of products and the ladies who work there are always very knowledgeable and happy to help with selecting the right products. I have very dry hair and sensitive skin and the products at the Beauty Center are second to none. I also go to Sephora sometimes and the customer service at BC is far superior. I went in the other day looking for a Bare Minerals product that wasn’t in stock, and the girl with the pink hair recommended a different brand with a similar product. She matched it to my skin tone and I actually ended up liking it even more than the Bare Minerals powder I had gone in to buy — they really do offer personal, friendly customer service.

I love the beauty center. I am always greeted when I enter and offered help to find things and have questions answered. Although the employees seem to be laid back, you can tell they like their job and are enthusiastic about selling the products. I have bought my hair dye supplies here for the past two years and I think its a great shop. Affordable and friendly.

Customer service sucks! Everytime I go into the store the girls including the manager are huddled together and clucking like chickens! Only reason I’ll give it a 3 star is because they have a decent supply of beauty products.

I enjoy shopping at Beauty Center the store manager has been really sweet and helpful to me as well as my girl friends the young women there are sweet and very helpful. I am especially impressed with the clean enviroment and hard work these employees are doing for our community. its always a pleasure to see the manager Lauren and her staff working so hard to keep customers happy and to help my friends and I with product information as well the attention we get with all the information of products given us when we shop at the Solano store.

Unfortunately Beauty Center does not understand the concept of customer service or the concept of using customer reward cards to increase business. I’m not sure if this is from management or if the employees just don’t care. I have had two negative experiences in the last year. The first time I was purchasing items and after I was rung up, but before I paid, I realized I had one of their reward cards with $ 5 off. The sales girl told me that because she already rang me up I couldn’t use the card, yet she never even asked if I had a card to begin with. It took me talking to a manager and telling them I would cancel the items I was about to purchase to get the $ 5 discount.
Today I went in and I remembered my card had $ 5 off, so in trying to avoid what happened last time I pulled it out at the time of purchase only to be told they did not honor the card because they have a new reward card. This time I walked out without buying anything. The point of a reward card is to get customers to want to come back and shop. It would have been so easy to say, «We have a new reward card, but I will take the last discount off from your old card today since your old card is full. Then you can switch to the new card.» This would have kept me as a customer.

I love this place, it is a little expensive but it is very good product. I often got gift, sample when i go there to buy some stuff.

This place has bad customer service and is overpriced. I rarely go here, but it is close to my home and convenient. Today I went in to buy a hair product that I ran out of. I got to the counter and took out my Bonus Card –which was one stamp away from my $ 5.00 discount– only to be told by the sales girl that they no longer use this card and unless it was completely filled It was invalid. You would think that since I was only ONE STAMP AWAY from my $ 5.00 discount they would just give it to me anyway. Nope. Totally invalid. I left the overpriced item on the counter and walked out. I will never go back.

I just started going here to get hair coloring. I used to pay a salon big $$ but with the downturn of my own personal economy, thought I’d do it myself. I’m a total novice when it comes to this and thankfully I found Solano Beauty Center. They were incredibly helpful and patient helping me pick colors and products. Just straight forward answers to my many questions. In the end I spent about $ 12 and my hair came out perfect! I’m not sure the prices are the cheapest but the advice is worth the extra cost.

The customer service stinks! I bought a blow dryer yesterday and discovered that it didn’t provide enough heat. I took it back today and told Brianna, Assistant mgr that I needed to return it. She didn’t look at the product or ask me why I was returning it… only asked, ‘do you have a receipt?’ I told her I lost it, but that I used my credit card and signed up for their rewards card and that they should have all my info in their records. I told her I was local and a regular customer. She told me, ‘It says on your receipt that you have to have that for returns.’ She was rude and uncompromising, kind of mean. I told her I really needed to return the product and that if I was unable to do so, they would loose me as a customer. She said, ‘I don’t appreciate your threat’. Wow, so confrontational. When I got home, I went through my garbage and found the receipt. I will only go to one more time to Beauty Center to return the blow dryer and will never shop there again.

I love this place. They have everything I need in one place and for a better price than I see at drug stores or Target (who shouldn’t be selling salon products anyway, tsk tsk). All of the products are great and they have a helpful sales staff. The twins in salon are wonderful too. They always listen to exactly what I ask for and do it with a smile.

I haven’t polished my nails for 10 or 15 years now, but I do use Nailtique to strengthen nails that began to split after I used some cheap nail polish I bought at Costco. I have been patronizing the Solano Avenue location of this business since it opened. They have little cards they stamp when you make a purchase and after a certain amount you receive $ 5 off on your next purchase. I haven’t kept close track of the amount needed, I just have trusted them to stamp the card and keep track. The last time I purchased Nailtique was a couple of months ago. It seemed to me about time for my $ 5 off, but the clerk told me it would be next time. Yesterday I went in again. The woman who rang up my purchase detached a second card that had been stapled to the first card and tore it up, then stamped the front card and attached a new card which she also stamped a few times. When I questioned her about it she said something about the $ 30 not having been stamped, and then told me I’d get $ 5 off next time. I felt I was being scammed and I felt angry. When I was in Tucson I went to Walgreen’s to look for something to fix a broken nail and I noticed their price for Nailtique was $ 2 less than I’ve been paying. I don’t think I will return to the Beauty Center, though I’ve been happy w/​them in the past. I don’t like feeling I can’t trust the merchants I’m dealing w/​. if they’ve changed the amount needed to receive the discount I would like to be told that. Having her tear up that card aroused my mistrust. There’s a small amount of money involved, but the principle looms large. The purpose of those cards is to build customer loyalty and they just lost mine.
