I came to Berkeley for a short visit and on the advice of a friend, I scheduled two sessions with Beth. It’s rare to find someone whose skills so perfectly matched what I needed. I’ve done some somatic experience work with another practitioner and have had a few massages, but Beth connects the two in a way that is unique and deeply therapeutic. It’s not just Beth’s high level of expertise that enabled me to feel so comfortable with her, but also her manner which invites trust — empathic, perceptive, intuitive, gentle, friendly. I have a serious health issue and related pain in my back. After my sessions, I felt much more limber and could walk distances without pain. I wish she could be cloned so that I would be able to work with her frequently where I live.

She really is amazing. One of the best listeners I have ever encountered and very skilled at myofascial release. She is the real thing!

I first saw her about 10 years ago when I was suffering from a tennis elbow type of condition. I am a carpenter and couldn’t even swing my hammer. She worked with me diligently mostly using Myofascial massage. She is kind, studious, and a good listener and detective in pinpointing pain and it’s origin. She showed me stretches and exercises I could do on my own as well as helping me find other positions and ways of handling my tools because I couldn’t afford to miss work. Beth was just great at a time when I was afraid I’d lose my job. Within 6 months I had a full range of motion and after a year, I never experienced that pain again. And I am still swinging my hammer!
I also go to her for general bodywork when I can. She’s very disciplined, educated and intuitive about the body and I have learned a lot from her.

I absolutely agree with Christine B. I would give Beth 10 stars if I could. She is AMAZING and soo incredibly knowledgeable. I’ve been to 2 chiropractors and a physical therapist at kaiser and no one has been able to help my injuries except Beth. I’ve seen her twice now and both times she’s erased my injuries in one session. If you have an injury I would highly recommend going to see her before anyone else.

Beth is very thorough in her bodywork treatments and she is highly effective and quick in finding muscle tension. Her treatments are long lasting and she has strengthened my belief in natural healing modalities. Her commitment to the clients’ well being comes through very powerfully in her touch and presence.

Beth is a wonderful massage therapist. Her type of massage is very subtle and sensitive and it seems to go to the root of a problem, rather than work around a problem. Beth seems instinctive about what you need but she also checks in with you frequently for feedback. I’ve been going to Beth for a couple of years now and I can really see the benefit over time. I used to have recurring back, neck, shoulder pain but it’s no longer a problem. It’s great working with Beth — I highly recommend her!

I love, LOVE Beth! I have chronic upper body RSI (hands, lower and upper arms), Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, hold all of my tension in my neck and shoulders and spend way more time on the computer than I should. Beth uses a variety of special techniques — ART, myofacial release, and other fancy names I don’t know. What I do know is that her techniques are intense, AND make my hand and arm pain go away and dissolve the tension in my neck and shoulders. These are therapeutic treatments, not just feel-​good treatments. I see her every 3 weeks for 90 minutes, and it is an excellent way to manage my pain. I was recently re-​evaluated for my Carpal Tunnel Syndrome status (I had a nerve conduction test done), and both hands improved dramatically. My left hand went fro severe to moderate and right hand went from moderate to mild nerve entrapment. I attribute this to Beth’s regular work on my upper body. I have successfully avoided CT surgery because of her! GO Beth!

In my quest to recover from RSI (repetitive stress injury) I have seen a half-​dozen massage therapists in the last year or so. Beth is by far the best. She truly attains excellence. As Beth works, the sensation borders on the magical: as she manipulates the fascia, she is able to work on the muscle in such a deep yet gentle way, with dramatic change. I leave each session feeling weightless, open, and free. More significantly, this feeling only increases in the following several days.
If you have any sort of soft-​tissue injury, RSI, or any pain at all, the best thing you can do is schedule a session with Beth. Beth knows about RSI — she recovered from a serious RSI herself (and obviously a complete recovery, to work with her hands all day). I am now completely recovered: I can work at the computer all day without a hint of pain and I have returned to mountain biking. I will continue to see Beth, since each session leaves me more graceful, flexible, and at ease.
A final note: Beth is one of the nicest and most friendly people you’ll ever meet.

Beth is my favorite local bodyworker. She is as terrific at dealing with specific injuries, as she is with giving an overall pleasing massage experience. As an Alexander Technique teacher, I refer students to her when they need the kind of gentle myofascial intervention in which she specializes. I also send my freinds, family and myself whenever we need a good ond-​fashioned yummy massage experience. Beth’s skills of observation, listening and presence allow her to address her client’s individual needs in the moment.

Beth has the most healing hands I’ve ever experienced. She truly fixed me from a debilitating repetitive stress injury — and now I’m back at work with no continuing problems. Her techniques are holistic and integrative — she has a lot of knowledge of neuro-​musculature and also offers stretches and other techniques that one can continue to practice for their self-​care. I recommend Beth to everyone I know who has an injury or just is in need of a massage and some care.

Beth Baron is a remarkably talented body worker to whom I have referred a number of my acupuncture clients. We are blessed to have dozens of good massage therapists in the Bay Area, but finding one who tunes in as deeply as Beth does and who knows her trade so thoroughly … well, it’s rare enough that Beth now knows many of my regular clients as well as I do. She also practices a breadth of body-​work styles, which allows her to find the right mode for each of her clients, from those who need serious alignment/​pain relief to those who just want to treat themselves to a break.

Beth is a skilled massage therapist who listens to what your body needs.
