History
Established in 1979.
Cal Adventures was established in 1979 within the Department of Recreational Sports as the Outdoor Education Program at UC Berkeley. The program began with land based programs including backpacking and climbing. In 1982, with support from the Department of Boating and Waterways, the program opened the Boating Center in the Berkeley Marina where we still operate safe boating educational programs to this day. More recently Cal Adventures began offering team building and ropes course programs in addition to adventure based activities.
Meet the Manager
Bronwyn B.
Manager
Bronwyn Burman is the Boating Programs Manager for Cal Adventures. Her love for sailing and windsurfing in the San Francisco Bay began in 2009 as a UC Berkeley undergraduate. Eventually Bronwyn’s passion for wind sports and program management led her to join Cal Adventures in 2011. When not behind her desk Bronwyn is found teaching sailing, windsurfing and kayaking on weekends at the UC Aquatic Center or climbing up a rock on her days off.
